      As you rightly said, insecurity will disappear immediately there is restructuring. Why because the troublemakers are spending free oil-money they never worked for to procure arms and ammunition. Boko-haram that now metamorphosed into bandit and kidnappers would no longer have arms and bomb to cause mayhem. Each time politicians stole money, they keep aside a part to buy arms just to make sure that Nigeria is not settled. There won't be free money again.

    But the regionalism should be crafted through ethnic lines
    Which indirectly also will make some regional land scape smaller or bigger
    Take for example, what would be the land scape of south south , are you going to take more Igbo land and draft it to another region
    Or are you going to bring back igbo land seaded as south south back ?
    From rivers, Delta, akwaibom , cross river , Edo, kogi and benue?

  • @cliveanawana5289

    I hope the map was not drawn by this man, in which he further balkanised Igboland to ensure areas of huge oil and gas reserves in Igboland are carved into the southern minorities states. Ohaji Egbema area of Imo state which today has more than 90% of Nigeria's gas reserves, was wickedly carved into a SS state.. This is the height of wickedness towards Igbos.
    So this bill should definitely be rejected by South easterners, unless they redraw the map and ensure all Igbo speaking peoples in both the SS and SE are joined together in one region.
    He was smart enough to ensure Yoruba speaking areas were put in the same region, in spite of the fact that Lagos indigenes don't really want to be included in the Yoruba region, but for the Igbo, he ensured he balkanised and brutally slashed Igboland to various regions, obviously with the intention to hamstring the Igbo region economically.

    1 Kings 12:8, 13-14, 19 But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, and which stood before him:
    And the king answered the people roughly, and forsook the old men's counsel that they gave him;
    And spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
    So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.

    It will be listed and should be listed. The idea can be subjected to variation. But it is more than important to engage in discussions. The president is the right man to put the idea forward and he would still be reappointed as president if the current developmental processes continues. We know what he's doing and Nigeria will recognise him for it and he will certainly write his name in a book of gold. There was a time when we used to talk about provinces. As a matter of fact, for developmental sake, it is needed as oil money dwindled.

    By looking at the map for the restructuring, the Old Eastern Region is divided into 3 regions, the middle belt remains 1 region, the Old western region remain intact as 1 Region while the far North remains 1 Region. Shame to them to accept deceit by the Caliphate, whose minds are poisoned permanently against the Igbo in the old Eastern Region. Meanwhile it’s in the far North that the minorities are marginalized and pushed to the edges of Nigeria and out of the cities yet they are in the same region as proposed.

    The situation of Nigeria is awful because of the greedy attitude of our politicians. I don't care about any new structural regions without stamping out or reducing the court attitudes of the top politicians. Which countries in the world do you see elected politicians go to office poor and retire as millionaires? How come Nigerian politicians never want to retire for good? We loot government money and travel to Dubai, Saudi Arabia and so fourth yet the families running these countries are fair to spread the wealth to accommodate common citizens? Why would any politician in Nigeria earn any salary more than the President and Senators of the United States? Why should Nigeria build a house for the Vice President one of the most paid public servants? In my opinion it is corruption and greediness stupid. When any government can't and don't care about it's people we have no government.

    The only place I disagree with Dr Fapounda is that if he put all the Yoruba speaking people together. He must also put all Igbo speaking people together. Anioma people in delta , Igbanke in Edo, Igbo speakers in Kogi, Benue, cross river state, Akwa Ibom , Rivers and Balyesa states purposely scattered by previous leaders of Nigeria just to make Igbos a dot in the circle as unashamedly said by Buhari and made minorities in some of these states must be put back to join their kinsmen in South East. The civil war ended in 1970 . Therefore , we must always be fair to all parties or leave it as it is . People should be consulted and asked where they want to be not to continue making the same mistake made by the military . Lord Lugard and Berlin conference.
