Your tutorials are really high quality and well done. I don't think a lot of game developers will understand the importance of LUTs though from this tutorial. Showing how LUTs are used for lighting would go a lot further to attracting aspiring GameMaker users to this video. LUTs can really be used well in 2D games to make a good looking game look so much better. Here's an article on Graveyard Keeper that is a perfect illustration of what I'm talking about: www.gamasutra.com/blogs/SvyatoslavCherkasov/20181023/329151/Graveyard_Keeper_How_the_graphics_effects_are_made.php
Ive learnt so much from your shader tuts, do you think you'll do any other tuts on other subjects? As was looking through my old playlists and came across your vids again and wondered what you was up to.. Even if you've moved on or not doing any other, just a TNX and Great vids anyway
This is a brilliant tutorial! I have been using this shader in my Haxe/Kha game. I am having a problem though with transparency. If I render a white square at half opacity it comes out semi transparent grey. I think this might be an issue around premultiplied alpha. I can't figure out how to get the square looking like a semi transparent white square...
Curious why you would want to work with a LUT that isn't square and sacrifice granularity but only in one color channel? I don't think the look up will work on a non square table but if you changed the lookup math you could make it work with any LUT I suppose.
These are lovely. Thanks for making all of these tutorials, you're a great pillar of this community
Thank you very much :)
Haven't posted another video since last year. We miss you, come back!
I'm so happy to meet your channel!! It's so amazing tutorial.!
You are a God.
seriously the best shader tutorials on youtube
Seriously doubt it although I sometimes wish I were - but thx for the compliment :)
That's exactly what a God would say.
Your tutorials are incredible, you should make videos again!! Do a gamedev series if you like making games, or more shader stuff, anything!
