- After the apparent death of Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin last month, there were questions about the future of the mercenary group and what Russian president Vladimir Putin would do to take back control. In today’s episode, CNN travels to the Central African Republic to see what that future looks like on the ground. We examine why Wagner remains popular there despite Prigozhin's death and look at why Russia continues to expand its reach into Africa. Plus, we get an update on the war in Ukraine as President Volodymyr Zelensky pleads with Western countries for more aid.

I was in basic training at Ft. Benning in 83.

I was finished on July 8th and began jump school on the other side of Benning.
I was supposed to enter Ranger school when I graduated jump school 3 weeks later.
While I was on CQ duty on night at the Ranger school, I had a long conversation with the on-duty Sargeant.
He had been a Ranger for many years at that point.
I asked him what I might be doing when I graduated.
He talked about the very same activity that you're describing.
I didn't like what I heard.
That wasn't what I signed up for.
Days later, I faked an injury to my foot.
They TDP'd me out of training.
I ended up in Germany as a regular 11B grunt.
I refused to take part in regime change wars.
The US Army eventually kicked me out because I wouldn't take part in any of their funny business.

1. I voluntarily signed up because my mother wanted me to go see the world, become a man, and then come back and start my home life.
