    Hearing you loud and clear, Tony! Thank you very much (I don't think Russ McBride listened to this video). I will always remember the late Professor Roy telling us at the 14th annual conference of the IACR (Oslo) that you don't start with a research question, you start with a social problem. BTW, Margaret Archer taught me that ontology is "real is" and epistemology is "what we take reality to be". Best regards, Chris

    Very interesting - as a lay person trying to get some traction on 'economix' (arguably a better collective version of the noun?) It confirms what I have heard and read elsewhere. I find the emphasis on ontology particularly useful - many thanks.

    Great summary of an important point. My only gripe with the critical realists in general are the endless discussions about NATURAL science, as if the methods used to understand the physical could somehow be remotely relevant to understanding the social world.

    If we could just interrelate the key ideas from Marx, like surplus value, with mainstream economics, the equations and models should reflect the main problem as profit.
