This is an honest review of the Other Art Fair in L.A. from two artists - Anna and Taaye.
🙋🏻♀️🧳 Taaye is a watercolor artist based in Vancouver, Canada. In search of a way to sell her art and expand her network, she travels to L.A. to visit the Other Art Fair in September 2023.
💁🏼♀️🏜️ Anna is an artist and founder of an artist residency in the Mojave desert. She has attended the Other Art Fair in L.A. several times but had different experience and results each time.
Taaye and Anna first met each other online through our Patreon community talks. During this trip, they met each other in real person.

San Diego Art Fair called Artwalk is held in two locations each year, Liberty Station and Little Italy Downtown. Most Artists do very well!
This was located at the Barker Hanger on the grounds of the Santa Monica Airport. This is a really cool event space that can be rented out for any type of event. from fashion shows to movie shoots. I'm wondering if entry to these events are curated or can any artist just pay a fee to get in.
Yes, there is an application process but it’s fairly easy to get in. The main filter is the ability to pay for the booth, then the rest is the logistics of life: organize the trip, bring your art, talk to people and make sales.

I did the fair in this video, so cool to see so many of my friends! I had a really great time, but after all of the costs of travel and booth fees, I'm not sure this was the right choice for me. Its really great if you have works mostly under $500.
I took an honors leadership class in College. The President"s Leadership Class at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Volunteering was a requirement to join the program. Volunteering and giving back is required for all humans. Of course there should be free ways to share our art. It is unethical what is happening with art today. I agree with the person on the right, be a leader!

English artists is one of my favourite countries artists from all around the world the art content is unique and beautiful .
They aren't charging you for a booth so don't complain about trivial costs. Like Spirit
Which art fair doesn’t charge for a booth? I would go!
I saw on the website a 10’x10’ booth at Art San Diego is priced at $4,495. It’s twice as expensive as The Other Art Fair. I don’t know the market in the States, but I think that’s still on the expensive end among others.
