It's heartbreaking. I think Hu died inside when he held Bore's dead body. He wanted to be reunited with her in death. Then he met their daughter and realized that she had the strong traits of both him and Bore. Their love story really made me sad. Deep down, I think Hu just wanted to prove to his brothers that his mother's low social status shouldn't make him unworthy in their eyes. He's a very tragic character.

I think that was the only way to kill him. Hu was formidable. You could not attack him dead on and expect no problem. Even his assistant Ge su could not be killed easily, not to talk of the master. I understand why they chose for him to die like that it makes sense

You can say he is greedy because he keeps trying but also selfless because he always chose to spare the king all the time in changes of better prepositions (the 1st), in change of the woman he loves (the 2nd), in the case of trust (the 3rd). In the 1st king, he was a bad king so you just think that Yuwen Hu is better then when he was about to get it from Yuwen Yu, ban Ruo is there. He is greedy but the more we saw it, he actually can give up had he meet someone like Jialou, had he didn't want ban Rio to becomes and empress. In that era, you die or you have power when your born as royalty. Feels like the drama fleshed his character a lot and send him off with dignity. He finally content with his life at the end. With the way the other king ascend the throne, it doesn't sound like such a bad idea of him as the king.
Yuwen Hu was the most powerful person but died during his weakness time, atleast he got to know his daughter with Banrou. He was the most misunderstood character but respects no one and shows no weakness. I don't blame Yuwen Yong, he has a debt to pay with Hu but killing innocent people especially your loved one is a different story killing him would save many lives. Who knows, Hu died happily knowing he'll meet BR soon.

The fact that Hu dies calling out her name (which Yong actually looks guilty about) is proof that the writers felt that his love story with Bore was the most romantic part of the show. Hu didn't want to live without Bore. Then he saw that she was still living inside their daughter, Li Hua, and it allowed him to die with some peace of mind.
Yuwen Hu never planned to kill the king,if others can be king why can't he,after all he deserves the throne better than all of them,yuwen yong is such a wicked character,he forgot how he saved him from the formal king😢😢
I used to like Yong but I hate him for killing Hu. The only reason why Yong is still alive is because Hu saved him all those years ago. He knew that Hu loved Bore with all his heart and never would have intentionally harmed her. Hu is basically the victim of a slander campaign throughout the show. He's an easy target for everyone to push their problems onto, because he's always been a confident and ambitious character.
No wonder why Dugu Jialuo’s father the late prime minister refused the marriage between yuwen yong and his daughter not because he would die young but he accidentally let slip his dark side which let the late dugu minister to see that the emperor has no qualms using innocent lives to achieve his goals despite his appearance of benevolence.
Zhou under yuwen dynasty perished with him. He was always astute about people’s nature especially when it came to ambition and his assessment of yang jian not being an ordinary official came true.
Yuwen Hu opt to die after knowing his daughter. He's too smart, calculating and manipulative not to see the plot of the emperor but he choose not to take action. In the end he knows that his existence will be the bane of his daughters future so he sacrifice. He's been selfish for his love for Dugu Boroe ever since but his love is true. He learned his lesson so for his daughter he become selfless for once.
finally someone who's not brainwashed by the charismatic appearance of Yuwen Hu. He was the "salt and pepper" of this drama. If I see Mantuo being stinky poor and have a miserable life then I can be happy :)))
He was always selfless for people that he loves though, so it's no out character for him. I think he just find peace when he saw his daughter. He wants her to have a good life and he just tired with everything. Had Ban Ruo didn't become empress, Yuwen Hu has several times when he actually can be the emperor but he always change it when she came to the pictures.

Maybe this is the first time in my whole life watching drama...I feel so bad when that villain was killed...Yuwen Hu is the most handsome man in this drama...I wish he could have more scene with Lihua...His acting is soo good that I cried...I am definitely gonna see his other works...

Qi lost to Yuwen Yong’s Zhou becuz they were stupid so much and killed Lan Ling Wan. Yuwen Yong got Qi Kingdom only after the death of Lan Ling Wan. If Lan Ling Wan accepted the throne of Qi, I bet Yuwen Yong wouldn’t have sat on the throne of both kingdoms. Lan Ling Wan was too loyal to his kings (his uncle and his cousin) even though everyone told him to take the throne for the better country. They made him suicide by forcing him to drink poison.

I really feel for Yuwen Hu. Even if he was the bad man he also had heart and he could love sincerely. He took care of his children and maybe if he knew he would probably good take care of his daughter. Anyway the circumstances were different.

Actually the history was like Yuen Hu was a Manipulator of the throne.
So he was the villain in the history.
Yuwen Yong happened to rule both Zhou and Qi even though they said Lan Ling Wan was a very hard obstacle for Yuwen Yong to conquer Qi Kingdom.
Cuz Lan Ling Wan was the god of war at that time.
Qi lost to Yuwen Yong’s Zhou becuz they were stupid so much and killed Lan Ling Wan.

太师这辈子太可怜 没了般若真的是行尸走肉 心累了 也懒得争了 女儿跟着杨坚伽罗也安全幸福 不如死了去见般若 也算是解脱了 但看得好心疼好心酸 这份痴情真的是 。。。突然觉得般若真的好狠心 到死都有维护别人 也没向太师说声爱你 抱歉 感谢 还在求他 帮她 般若并没有这么爱太师的感觉 至少没太师对她的爱这么深沉 心疼心疼 就这么容易就死了 唉。。。
