He won a single election easily, then was pretty much rejected after 5 years. He failed badly in 1955.
A man who came from a very priviledged background, he led The Labour party into government and changed society for the greater good.
No show, no charisma. Just an intellectual powerhouse that gets the job done. Excellent.
No charisma? More charisma than most people I know and heard. Not the best.
If Britain had kept out of the Korean war , the economy would have continued to have remained in surplus and kept defence spending under control. Atlee a great PM , but wrong on this one.
He could be talking about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. 70 years on would the people of South Korea say 'wish the north has won'? In ten years will the Ukrainians say 'thank God the West stood with us"? Or 'we should have welcomed Putin'?'
Not really the same, the United Nations authorised an American led military force into Korea.
@@mikewilson730 at the time the Soviet Union was boycotting the Security Council (Stalin's time) so the General assembly passed a resolution. From memory some 16 nations contributed to UN forces. The South Koreans are grateful
