Damn it. Sorry I missed this one. John went to high school with my mom & were neighbors growing up. York Ave. If you see this John. Great to see you again.
You guys should ABSOLUTELY do a Part 2... There was a TON of uncovered material. Nord was a part of the dying days of WCCW as well as the AWA. Those are two very storied territories... So many questions that you could ask and stories that would be told.
So, here's the thing, folks: John Nord needs his own damn podcast, and he needed it yesterday. Some people out there who are just made for the microphone, Nord is one of them. The world needs more Nord in our lives. We need his humor, his wit, his unfiltered takes on everything
I was business partners with Animal (Joe) before he passed and I spent many hours in the "gym" when I visited Minnesota. I'll never forget when Joe and I were in Minnesota on a business trip. We were on our way up to Paul Ellering's bar when we drove by the Gym. They were knocking it down! I was like Joe... Look! They're knocking down the Gym! Such a massive part of Joe's history as well as so many other pro athletes. It was so random that we drove by when we did and I remember Joe's reaction being so strange to me. He acted as if, oh well... I'll never forget that, especially his reaction. He wasn't involved in the Gym at the point so maybe that played into it but I don't reminder any bad blood, so again it was strange to me. Now Joe is gone as well. I'll always cherish those memories spent with Joe and the many wrestlers from the old days I was introduced to. RIP Joe, as well as to so many other's that passed through the legendary Gym.
I got to briefly meet joe across the street from that gym. Its was a resteraunt that changed names 6 times by now im sure. This had to be over 20 years ago. Seemed like a good guy. This time it was great to meet your childhood heroes.
@@camaro1139 That’s cool.. speaking of childhood heroes Joe was also one of mine and it was pretty surreal that I actually became business partners and traveled the world with him. He was a good guy. I miss him.
Nord shoots straight. He told the truth about NO ONE liking flair & only being nice to him because, if you didn’t, he would bury you to his buttbuddies up at the top/in the booking committee. He said Hawk, whom flair allegedly thought was his “good friend”, just pretended to be flairs friend but actually couldn’t stand him.
Su!c!de rates were sky high amongst the Swedish communities in midwestern murica shortly after they began (begrudgingly) arriving, due to the horrors of actually having to live in that craphoIe part of the planet. Most contemporary Swedes couldn’t even tell you what Minnesota/Iowa is nor where it’s located
Great to see and hear John!!! Thanks alot B&B!!

Man, how fun was The Berzerker? huss! Huss! HUSS!

If you live long enough you see your youth disappear . Nothing stays the same .
I saw a pic of John in High School and he was huge even then .
Be neat to get all the surviving Minnesota wrestlers together on podcast
Legend
Looks like Bruiser Broddy
Was friends with Brody and was helped out by Brody a lot
oh this will be good!
best guest ever !
1:25:42 😆 🤣 😂
Great interview
Nord should've won a Royal Rumble!
John telling how the Sheikh thought he was Brad Shaw never gets old.
AWA was an underrated promotion…….
LOL how so..?
Another Minnesota boy
When can u get valentine as a guest!!!
Hammer would be an amazing guest. Personally I'd love to have these guys have OMG, Koko, Brutus, Vega, Tatanka, and Shiek.
No Scott Norton? Rick Steiner? Kevin Wacholz (AKA, the White Whale of shoot interviews) ….?
Rick Steiner is from Michigan but Scott and Kevin are MN born and raised
That accent/voice kills any illusion of a tough guy for me 😂
But he was notoriously tough . Don’t let that fool you
👽
Contest Question …. who has the best Minnesotan Accent ? Nord or Darsow ?
