THIS should have been the single instead of Follow me Home, which was released in SUMMER, a ballad in summer, GOSH!!!! and then they fu...d it up AGAIN, when they released both denial and change as single, when they had amazing singles like "never gonna dance again"
Omg Finally yes!!! This was the first bad choice out of many! They released Follow me Home in a winter themed video in summer. Of course it flopped. This would have been top10. After they cancelled good to be gone which is way better than easy And change needed my love is pink as summer song and never gonna dance again before instead of change. I like denial Then Catfights and Spotlights had better songs like nothings as good as you as summer song or every heart broken instead of no can do. Would have boost the album as well And Sweet7 needed a ballad after wear my kiss to show that they dont have only club bangers. Like no more you or crash and Burn
Follow me home was just a disrespectful release to Mutya. Period. Mutya wrote that for her daughter. I know the other girls love the song but they knew it was written and put on the album for Mutyas daughter. To release it was disrespectful in my opinion and it’s chart position (chart at 37 I think) shows it too, when it became the girls lowest charting single of all time (for Sugababes).
@frencatko I saw a video, were they presented the "Taller" album, and there they played and talked about Push the button, Ugly, Gotta be you and Follow me home. I guess if Mutya wouldn't have left the group, Gotta be you would've been the third single instead of Red dress (I also read that Mutya didn't like Red dress, don't know if it's true though).
@hangshimkim Well, you sound like someone with many information about the Sugababes, so I thought you could answer my questions ;-). I know that Amelle was supposed to re-record all tracks. But to me, it's still strange, why she recorded Ace Reject and they didn't put that on the album.... :-D
@asheshpatel9607: Thanks for the info !. Although probably not the original intention/meaning of the song, I think they must have thought it could apply to their situation regarding the press and rumours (which is why there is Mutya, Newsweek etc). As you say, they adapted it slightly. Good song.
@hangshimkim Can you show me a link to this Interview with Keisha? I'm pretty sure that the label also decides, which singles they are going to release, but I don't think that the Babes didn't had to say anything about that at all. So if "Red Dress" was already selected, why did Amelle re-records "Gotta Be You"? She also re-recorded "Ace Reject", but they didn't put that on the album. Did you read their contracts back then or is this just an assumption? (I'm just curious, don't get me wrong!)
They seem to be having so much fun in this performance. It's insane how much better this song is with Mutya.
Idk about you but this is one of my most favorite song of them. Very underrated
Soooo badass, love it. One of my favourites from them. Should have been a single

Ohmar Ponce I totally agree with you

imagine thinking that change and denial didn't deserve to be singles.

Ufff!
Heidi and Keisha would only think of clapping hands and making everybody shout.
@asheshpatel9607 The irony of you saying "very Sugababes" is the fact that the song is actually a cover.
didn't know about Change but i heard about Denial she didn't get why they made it a single and actually didn;t like the song at all.

Amelle did this song better live!
you wish.
I just love Amelle’s version of Gotta be you, she’s so good 😊
