1:53, I just want to add a quote from Bishop Barron, where he quotes Isaiah, I think Isaiah 26:12 "LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
    "

Is this the general Orthodox approach? This was done 5 years ago. Would you still agree with this? Thanks for your channel. It has been a real help! God bless.

If it accords with this: orthodoxchristiantheology.com/2018/05/12/augustine-versus-chrysostom-on-predestination/

I gave a quick listen and it honestly sounds good. It does not get into distinctives about the sixth ecumenical council and Orthodox antropology--but its a good primer for Protestants where a deep dive into Orthodox original sin is too academic. I am grateful that I recorded a bunch of stuff soon after my conversion. I was cognizant that in time I'd lose my "Protestantese" and would no longer be able to speak like a Protestant and hence lose my capacity to explain things on their level forever.

Hi! I would very much like to know what resources you recommend that led you to these conclusions. Thanks in advance!

@@Lifecoach4life Yes, schism and heresy are always wrong. The Reformation resulted in an abomination. The Heterodix are not IN CHRIST. They are IN the REFORMERS.

@@Lifecoach4life Nobody prays TO Mary or the Apostles.
      The Church never forbid bibles.
The selling of Indulgences was wrong. It wasn't sanctioned by the Bishops.
The Church teaches nothing contrary to scripture.
My turn to ask a question:
Can faith alone (Sola Fide) save you? My bible says no.
      James 2:24 RSV
You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.

@@Lifecoach4life Now, thanks for answering my question. Faith Alone is unbiblical and not taught in the Scriptures.
If you are going to quote James 2:17, you should quote the entire passage:
      James 2:17
So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
Faith By-Itself = Faith Alone = Dead Faith.
In chess we call this a major Blunder. I asked you what James 2:14 asks all of us, summed up by: Can Faith Alone Save You?
Everything between James 2:15-23 is supporting evidence for the conclusion of James 2:24.
Faith Alone is a false doctrine.
I have a video, that you can find called: Does the Holy Spirit reject faith alone.

So, basically the Orthodox view is just like the Lutheran view, right?

    • @OrthodoxChristianTheology
      @OrthodoxChristianTheology  3 года назад

There is a similarity, though the Orthodox have a different view of grace due to the energy-essence distinction, but to be honest I am not aware of all the creedal views of Lutheranism. It has been years since I read the Ausberg Confession.

    Synergism sounds like heresy.
