If you’re having this issue and after plugging the charger in and it still won’t work YOU HAVE TO USE A CHARGER THAT WILL CHARGE/SYNC I learned this through the comment section I literally just used my other charger (that syncs things to computers etc) and it worked instantly I almost took my co troller back

Fixed my PS4 controller pairing issue! Turns out the short orange cable I was using (came with my ring camera) was only for charging and not data transfer. Had to use a different cable that supports both. Thanks for the troubleshooting tips!

Short take: it’s micro usb cable “dependent”. If it just charges that’s not enough it has to do data also. After repeating the process of connecting the controller to other devices putting it back, reconnecting is a breeze. But only with the right cable.

Let me tell you one more option use remote play to connect to your ps4 then go to Bluetooth devices and delete everything then try to connect your controller using share and the ps button worked for me
For the final step I didn't need a cable. Just push hold the PlayStation button and Share button at the same time and the light blinks fast. Then it should appear somewhere in the list of nearby Bluetooth devices. Also if you don't have a working remote to navigate with you can plug any old PC USB mouse xx

Hey everybody, make sure you are using a data transferring micro usb. I tried 5 different cables and thought my controller is broken. Some cables are charging only. 1. Completely turn off the ps4. 2. Reset the controller, by pressing the reset button on the back with a paper clip, for 10 seconds. 3. Turn on the ps4 by presssing the button, with the controller connected with a cable and repetedly press the PS button on the controller until it connects. MAKE SURE U ARE USING A DATA TRANSFER MICRO USB.
I can't get a 2nd controller to work or any controller it just flashes white lights. This all started when I hooked my controller up to my PC. This is a nightmare. I don't understand it
