so i was playing this song in my room pretty loud and my dad, who doesn't listen to this kind of music, was overhearing it from the living room. i could hear him sniffling towards the end of the song.. i thought he was sick but turns out the majestic emotional roller coaster that is circa survive had got to him. Circa Survive goes straight to the soul.
Bruh I wanted more of the guitar breakdown at the bridge. Gave me the chills. Think 2nd bridge they were going to elongate it at least. But sometimes that wanting of it makes the song so much better, less is more.
listened to this song for the fifth or six time so far and realized that the build up and resolution from 5:00 to 8:22 is the greatest thing I've heard in a while from Circa. I like metal/rock fans because we learn that many things can come to be appreciated with time and not simply dismissed because it doesn't make us go "wow" the first few seconds of listening.
Matthew Washburn That bass is literally the best part. Haha. I love the way it sounds so much. Especially with the guitars sounding majestic on either side.
I found this song and band maybe three years ago. Recently going through some extremely tough times, I have to say even after all these years the period from 2:41 to the send of the song has to be the heaviest most atmospheric breakdown I’ve ever heard
"Descensus" You have everything you could want And you waste it In a marriage where you can't decide How to break it right Ever changing the places you hide (We will find) An excuse in whatever you choose (Let this die) Trickle down your face, tears of pleasure Mixed with tears of pain They taste the same as everyone insisted I won't let you go until the end You have everything you could need And you waste it On a partnership that you hate So you break it Ever changing the places you hide (We will fight) An excuse in whatever you choose (Let this die) Trickle down your face, tears of pleasure Mixed with tears of pain They taste the same as everyone insisted I won't let you go until the end If you could try and get your timing right I'll let you stay if you can eat the pain Taking it's place, just let me disappear If we forget, I'll do it all again There is no home there when your heart is gone The secret is clear if you could eat the fear Where it can grow, no one will ever know If you could try and get your timing right Leave it alone Look at how much it's grown I'll be okay if I can sell the pain Look and you'll see If I didn't make all these mistakes then I wouldn't be losing Wondering, openly, devilish, we've let it go too far I know I let you down Somehow we mustn't let this die There isn't anything I ever wanted more
I'm a huge circa fan, I have juturna tattooed on me... This album is the small space they've been missing. Circa hit the nail on the head with this one. Anthony greens lyrics are amazing in this song.
I also have a juturna tattoo haha. But I have had a hard time loving post OLG albums. Blue sky noise has grown on me. But this is my fav circa song since OLG
"If I didn't make all these mistakes then I wouldn't be losing Wondering openly devilish, we let it go too far I know I let you down, somehow we mustn't let this die" Those lyrics hit me especially hard for some reason. The feelings of regret and misery expressed by Anthony's heartfelt vocals combined with the slow, somber instrumentals in the background are so intense it brings me to tears every time.
This section right here might be Anthony's best work ever. The tone in his voice and the lyrics are so authentic. It's sad that we hurt the ones we love when deep down they are EVERYTHING to us...
YES! I saw the lyrics on google and I knew they were wrong, and I was trying to piece together what he actually said. I'm glad you posted what they really are.
I love the way Circa Survive makes me feel. I either feel like a child and the world so new, vast, and exciting. Or I feel like I'm in the womb, vulnerable, but safe and protected.
I think I know what you mean... each detail of life had its own emotion when I was younger. I forgot exactly how Green's singing and the hazy music would make me feel. I just listen to chill now, but the strange warmth/coolness that would cradle my heart when I'd hear this...
Personally, this is the best song on the album, it was long and dragged at first listen, but after awhile, it really got to me, and it's down right epic! Also song ends at least 20 seconds too early, but it's nothing different from this ending.
Love this band! I've went off of heavy music recently and gotten into more lighter/experimental stuff. This song flows emotion, whether you think it drags... It is a masterpiece!
I just love how this whole album is, even down to the artwork. Realised fairly recently that all the songs in the album have a picture in the artwork representing them. Extremely well thought out
You have everything you could want and you wasted In a marriage when you can't decide how to break it right And the chains in the pleasure you find (we will find) An excuse in whatever you choose (let me start) Trickled down your face, tears of pleasure Mixed with tears of pain They taste the same as everyone existed I won't let you go until you hate You have everything you could need, and you wasted On a partnership that you hate, so you break it And the chains in the pleasure you find (we will find) An excuse in whatever you choose (let me start) Trickled down your face, tears of pleasure Mixed with tears of pain They taste the same as everyone existed I won't let you go until you hate
The counter melodies in this song are so fucking mind blowing.... not to mention the mix so that not a single thing is lost musically or vocally is insane. Every time I listen I get more and more mind fucked, and I love it.
I can make out the first 2 background vocals in the epilogue of the song. 1st: "All I want of you." 2nd: "I don't ever want to feel like this." The 3rd part I can't make out. Since the 2nd part is from one of the earlier songs, I think they all are. Gotta do some lyrics disection.
I've listened to every Circa Survive song and even some that I bet you've never heard of. You are all wrongly assuming that I am just discovering this band or have no knowledge of their previous work. None of their previous songs have as much raw and heavy energy.
Descensus Lyrics (as interpreted by me!) You have everything you could want and you waste it In a marriage where you can't decide how to break it right Ever changing the places you hide (We will find) An excuse in whatever you choose (Let me start) Trickle down your face tears of pleasure Mixed with tears of pain They taste the same as everyone insisting I won't let you go until the end You have everything you could need and you waste it On a partnership that you hate so you break it Ever changing the places you hide (We will find) An excuse in whatever you choose (Let me start) Trickle down your face tears of pleasure Mixed with tears of pain They taste the same as everyone insisting I won't let you go until the end If you could try and get your timing right I'll let you stay if you could eat the pain Taking its place just let me disappear If we forget I'll do it all again There is no home there when your heart is gone The secret is clear if you could eat the fear Where it can grow no one will ever know If you could try and get your timing right Leave it alone look at how much we've grown I'll be okay if I can sell the pain Look and you'll see If I didn't make all these mistakes Then I wouldn't be losing Wandering openly til we we let it go too far I know I let you down Somehow we mustn't let this die. I know it's not perfect, but i didnt really see anyone else that had most of the lyrics (and some key lyrics incorrect) so i tried best i could to get the most accurate but nothing i could find was truly official (I'm not looking to argue with anyone over these lyrics unless they have something legit for a reference because THESE lyrics are not official). The background lyrics are incredibly difficult to make out, sounds like its saying "all i wonder is" or "All I wanna do" or "All I want is you". Then the OTHER background lyrics I just cant make out at all =\ anyways for those that were interested or found this helpful... ;) also if anyone knows where the "official" lyrics are lemme know.. cuz this is my jam! Seacrest OUT!
Favorite song on this album. I was not too impressed with their last two albums, in comparison to their first two anyway, but this album is great. Come to Vegas!!!!!! I feel like circa plays at the same cities just about every tour ):
I am so picky with music Circa is the ONLY band I can call perfect and this album hits that realm. It's so surreal how they are able to keep giving us new unique music 5 albums in a row pushing the boundaries getting better every time. Proof they love their sound, music in general, and each other because how else can you write like that. Such keen vibes and unbearable passion represented in all of their songs. Here are my fav albums from best to least best 1. Descensus 2. Violent Waves 3. Blue Sky Noise (This album relates to me the best) 4. Juterna 5. On Letting Go

Austin James Thank you for sharing this. This song does really dig right in you.
Austin James I couldn't make up a bullshit story like this even if i tried
Lol good point sir
But no he was actually sitting in the living room staring at a blank tv lol
Circa Survive op
It's amazing how they can repeat the same bass line for literally over 6 minutes, and yet, I'm always disappointed that it has to end.
Haha yes
It's all a dance around the bass!! The drums can vary if the bass line doesn't and i find that very rich
Bruh I wanted more of the guitar breakdown at the bridge. Gave me the chills. Think 2nd bridge they were going to elongate it at least. But sometimes that wanting of it makes the song so much better, less is more.

wow fuck I was high.
High or not, those were beautiful truthful words my friend.
ablougabla I completely agree with you my friend. I was completely sober and it changed my life. Cheers.
Some say their new albums are not as good as their first two, the production and composition here begs to differ I say.
I can't stop cranking the speakers up when the bass line hits at 2:41. So good.
Matthew Washburn That bass is literally the best part. Haha. I love the way it sounds so much. Especially with the guitars sounding majestic on either side.

Does anybody know where that last lyric at the end is?? I can’t hear it for the life of me.
Wow. The last 6 mins feels like flying and dying in slow fucking motion, its so beautiful and phenomenal. Thanks circa survive for this.
I'm a huge circa fan, I have juturna tattooed on me...
This album is the small space they've been missing. Circa hit the nail on the head with this one.
Anthony greens lyrics are amazing in this song.
Descensus album cover would've looked great as a tattoo! :D
I also have a juturna tattoo haha. But I have had a hard time loving post OLG albums. Blue sky noise has grown on me. But this is my fav circa song since OLG

You can feel the Deftones influence in your balls. It's fucking great
i think u mean HUM
Deftones are my second favorite band of all time and I totally get what you mean. You can totally hear it.
Totally Best singer than Chino
It has a feel of all their albums combined. Definitely their best album in my opinion.
This is my favorite song they've ever made. Great job, guys.
I just got wrapped up in a giant cozy blanket of rock n roll.
Goddamn. Just turned 24. Missed out on this for years. Better late than never.
just turned 34 yo lol...better late than never indeed
@@meganisatpeace7379 His solo stuff is fantastic as well! Also, hope you are well at 34!
Happy 28 bro
@@wardenod7164 Thanks man, hope you are well!
Heard this song at zumiez yesterday (5/15/16) fell in love so quick.
this song has strong Doomgaze vibes that are hard to shake off... this album is soooooo good its ridiculous! favorite song along with sovereign circle
FatLikeKessel Is doomgaze a thing??? Cause that section of the song sounds fucking amazing and I want more of it. Hahaha.
Doomgaze??
Glad to hear Nick's heavy bass tones really come through on this track. Needless to say, this album is yet again, perfection. Thank you, Circa.
That final minute is such an amazing part. Literally, it's so epic, i wish that part was the whole song.
I get shivers at the switch up at 1:23. Too epic.
What a friggin album this one. Circa never disappoints.
Wow I love this so much. Have the entire album on repeat.
This song is just so soothing.
Nic
I've got about 3,000 of the views myself.
Reminds me of Heaven Walk, Hell Walk (God Walk, Devil Walk) by Oceana. Love this slightly heavier side of Circa
Some people don't even know about that song man it's one of my favs
Alex Moreau Nah! That song is really one of my favorite by Oceana.
Totally thought you said Oceano the deathcore band
That's an amazing song. Now they're Polyenso.
FUCK YES! I'm so glad people have heard that song. Polyenso is dope as fuck too
You bring back my high school butterflies with this powerful sound.
this song has the best switch up and i’ll never get tired of it
this song! its heavy but then it touches you gently out of no where. its so soothing.
the one that deserved a music video
Hearing this song many years later makes me realize all that time getting lost listening to this song wasn't wasted after all.
all their music's always been dear to me
this song is so good, one of my favorites of all their songs
This song speaks to my soul.
This song makes me sad :(
Personally, this is the best song on the album, it was long and dragged at first listen, but after awhile, it really got to me, and it's down right epic!
Also song ends at least 20 seconds too early, but it's nothing different from this ending.

“I know I let you down, somehow we mustn’t let this die.”
So blessed to hear this song acoustic.. best version ever..!!!
excelente temaaa! lml venezuela presente!
This song is everything. Oh god.
Please people give this a few listen throughs. I couldn't stand this song at first, but it's now my favorite off the album.
Good morning world!! Thank you for giving us Circa
Love this band! I've went off of heavy music recently and gotten into more lighter/experimental stuff.

The definition of the word decensus: the slipping our falling out of place of an organ (as the uterus). Prolapse.
The last verse of this has been every new human interaction I've made in the past few years. I am so tired.

+FiRsT465 I know i was joking. i play drums and those are some leet sauce time signatures.. : / I Praise Stephen Clifford for his tasty jams.
Christopher Kremer aaah, thank you xD
This is my favorite song off their new record and Phantom my second. Idk why. Anyways, I hope I can make it to the show this weekend!
I love this song....
This band is fucking amazing. seeing them live in SF next month
Amazing.
Such an amazing track, one of their best. The climax at the end is phenomenal
the contrast in this song is so interesting.
Hearing Anthony Green, units of time just mesh together rather than ticking.
from 5 mins out...beyond beautiful.
Crying in the shower while listening to this, the end really gets you.
Hella weird, but okay? I think you have other issues going on.....
@@samTmadeUmad I think you need to mind your business buddy
Best song on the álbum, has the power and changes that i love, this and only the sum (best bass line from circa)
in love with this work
Holy shit, this is different for them. Amazing.
You have everything you could want and you wasted
In a marriage when you can't decide how to break it right
And the chains in the pleasure you find (we will find)
An excuse in whatever you choose (let me start)

Mixed with tears of pain

The world couldn't turn without this but it's flat 👀
I wish I could've seen them play this album live 😩
Alexandra Ortiz one day they’ll do a ten year reunion for this
Idk why but i can hear another guest Chino appearance in this song hahaha
This is a total Deftones influenced song, which makes it that much better!
This song is a bit heavy for them, but damn does it kick some ass.
Sure I can. They haven't made anything quite as heavy as this song. Obviously bands evolve....
Camp Circa listen to more circa. they go hard
listem suspending desbelief, this song looks like a mix of mandala e suspending of desbelief
