My husband and I have done several of the lord of the rings kits. Read the white pamphlet (almost everyone just tossed it, but it actually has some good tips and tricks in it). Use your lamp for like 5 minutes on all sides and the top and bottom, and then go slow while unmolding. We haven't had any issues, it just definitely takes patience between setting them long enough and then unmolding them carefully. These and the Harry Potter potion kits are so friggin gorgeous with the theme
What kind of lamp do you use? I have a UV lamp and the little UV lamp that comes with the Master chef kits from mini brands create. I used each for one sword and for both it took way longer than the recommended. I read the pamphlet and did exactly as described, but it took like 15 minutes on all sides each. Same with the Harry Potter one. It was under the UV lamp for 45 minutes (switching sides every so often and also shining on top and bottom) and it still wasn't fully cured, so I super glued the cap on and stuck it in front of a window. By the end of the day, it did harden.
I agree Def have to have patience with these kits. I collected them all and didn't have any issues. All turned out adorable. Even managed to get 1 of the rares! Only need the other 2 rares to be complete!!
@@lizvdp8066u need a 365nm uv light. On amazing darkbeam and darkdawn uv lights r hands down the best 2 365 lights to get. All the new resin u really need a 365 nm light. 395 was the old light that worked on the old formula. The translucent resins will still cure with the 395 but the opaque ones will require the sun or a 365 to fully cure. Hope this helps
OMG Thank you!!!! I have a UV flashlight that worked great for the Harry Potter potions, so I was sure it would work for this, but no one was saying how long to let it sit for. You are awesome for sharing this
You can tell Jackie isn’t an LOTR fan lol. Loved the different balls for the different factions of Middle Earth! My guess is the different maps come together to make the full Middle Earth map. This was my favorite miniverse yet!
Looks like the green spheres are the elves, grey dwarves and black orcs. Maybe there's a sphere that is for the humans, who knows. Thank you for the video ❤
The resin actually already have metallic pigment in it. Additional pigments just to add shine and color effects to blade, that is why they want you to cover inside of the mold with it.
I was crying when she said she is just adding it to the resin. Using the powder to coat the mold actually helps it release as well as make it look beautiful.
@@mandivanengelen1788 Crying? I don’t blame her for thinking to mix it in. Unless you give it one test go, you really don’t understand the logic of the tiny picture directions.
So you can make Sting two ways; one normal and one that shines blue for when Orcs are around. I LOVE these and hope I’ll be able to find them in Canada. The white hand is the hand of Saruman that his Uruk-hai use
3:04 it's not elvish It is written in Elvish (Tengwar) script but the language used is the Black Speech of Mordor Yes I'm a nerd and a lord of the rings buff
@milkompoukalo Sting is originally Bilbos sword in The Hobbit then Frodo inherits it in LOTR. It glows blue when there are orcs or goblins close by. LOTR movies are great. The Hobbit movies were meh. The books are amazing. The Hobbit is my favorite.
Not going to lie, I was so worried when I saw you were making this kit as so many people have failed at it, and you notoriously don’t read the white pamphlet! I am so impressed. I’ve wanted the lotr kit since it came out, and now it’s a need!
Jackie has forgotten that there are good and bad sides in epic battle movies. The Elfish side is good and then Mordor side is evil so of course the containers and anvil etc will be different. They don't get their swords all made at the same blacksmiths! LOL
Jackie on the miniverse website they show you the rare minis, and the Sting sword is a transparent one. Also i belive you are supposed to move the pipette up as you fill the mold to prevent air pockets.
Aragorn: You have my sword. Legolas: You have my bow. Gimli: You have my axe. Gollum/Smeagol: You have my precious! Gandalf: Is it secret? Is It safe?!! Frodo: No! I have none of those things! Pippin took them! I just want to go home! Pippin: I sold them to SaltyCrafter! I bought a new pipe! Fancy a Smoke, Merry?!! Gandalf: Fool of a Took! Elrond: I should have just pushed Arathorn into the fire! Aragorn. >_>
I did one of these swords with my son. We had to leave it out for a full day in the southern California sun, for it to harden properly. My favorite fantasy series is the Xanth series by Piers Anthony. I grew up with it, and it holds such a special place in my heart.
I'm kinda confused why this is posted on NerdEJackie and not on NerdEcrafter. But I'm happy you are reviewing these. I want this serie but Swedish Amazon says it will be released Oct 2025!!! So almost a year. It is so weird bc the serie is released on the German Amazon already but they don't offer free shipping to Sweden. I love that you get a silicone mold. This seems like an awesome series. (My other comment either got deleted or hidden by the youtube ai for some reason.)
Jackie I have lots of duplicates of the Harry Potter potions. I can send them to you if you want! There is also a make it mini potions classroom to build
Sooo glad i watched this! I saw someone else try them when they launched and they kept failing so i held off on buying any but now seeing yours and seeing you take more time with them and having success i’m going to order some ☺️🥳
I'm so Jello, you got Sting & The One Ring!!! I'm glad you reviewed the Lord of the Rings Miniverse. Now I can correct what I did wrong making mine😅 Thank you!!
This is the cutest kit ever. I wasn't particularly interested in the regular MiniVerse line but as gigantic LOTR nerd, this is amazing! I want Herugrim and Sauron's mace SO badly!
Oh, I would definitely want to buy one of these and gift it to my bestie, she might like it even more than me, but Lord of the Rings is one of my favorite movies. The hand print is Saruman's mark, pretty much all orcs have it on their face at some point. (no i haven't read the books, tried tho. But Hobbit book was easier for me to read, loved the trilogy)
This just made my heart happy. Having part of the map for Middle Earth for Frodo & the other half for the dwarves! TELL ME that if you get the Uruk-hai sword it gives you part of the map for Mordor & getting Herugrim gives you Rohan's part!?!? Does putting them all together make the full Middle Earth map!?!?!?!? I loved how each plastic ball was different depending on what part of Middle Earth the swords/knives/axes were coming from.
So cute! The ring is pretty accurate since originally, the writing only appears when it is passed through fire. Also, the hand is a symbol of the enemy forces, if memory serves.
Thanks for doing this one I am a visual learner and knew people were having trouble with these ones. My stores still have this so I’m now going to try it 😊
I did one of these and while the result was cute, it took forever to cure! (with uv lamp). I read their instructions of 5 minutes on all side, but that wasn't nearly enough. I've been having the same issues with other ones as well, but the themed ones are so cute (and I use them for elf on the shelf themes). Demolding went pretty well, though and the extras in there for display were adorble add ons.
I tried to read the books but Tolkien has a pretty heavy detailed style of writing and it's not my cup of tea, but the the first LOTR trilogy of movies are my all time favorites. ❤ Green is for Elves. Grey is for dwarves. Black is for creatures of Mordor and the white symbol is the Hand of Saruman, the wizard who created the Uruk-hai Jackie if you haven't seen the movies you really should watch them 😅
I do like lord of the rings/the Hobbit, I'd say it's one of my favorite fantasy series, more so the movies because the books drag. But I'd say for fantasy book series one of my favorites is the Abhorsen series. Edit: also recently tried my first mini verse Halloween kit, got the little cake, it was fun, will most likely buy again. This kit is so cool.
I like the Sting with less blue as it looks more like the blade should for a sword. This is a series that might actually make me go buy some and try a resin project as I like Lord of the Rings
I have never done these miniverse craft kits, however, being a hard LOTR fan, having gone through the books and movies several times, seeing all these items from the story is interesting me so much that I might find a couple of these.
I think these kits are assuming that people have worked with molds and resin before as they do not put in the direction to pull at the mold before trying to release the sword. No wonder people have had handles break off. I really wanted to get these but can't find them. Also I really want all the Harry Potter ones but those are extremely hard to find a full set. Even on Temu, people are selling full sets for over 600 dollars! Insane!
I had done all of the Harry Potter Potions and adore them. The detail is fabulous though I made my own display to show them off. I recommend using the pin hole hack though. I had bought some before I knew about it and then managed to just get one double. I understand that the rares aren't released yet so I didn't worry about tracking them down. I am not into LOTR in the same way, but I do recommend using a UV light if where you live (I live in the UK) doesn't get much sun now. For me each potion took longer to set and I used a mix of sun (when it appeared) as well as the UV light.
I have a lot of fave fantasy series, but if you haven't read the Temeraire series, do eeet! It's so good! It's an older series but a lot of people have never heard of it.
My first thought was "I definitely need Jackie to do these" and I believe I even sent it to her 😅 I was so happy to see she did a review on them! I'm actually shocked to find out she isn't a LOTR fan 🫣 Love you anyway, Jackie! Thank you for the review 🫶🏻
I was cross that i bought one of the branded lamps because it’s taking so long to cure the resins under the nail lamp but it is still taking forever for some of them to cure. Love the look of the first knives could really fancy those as earrings
Dammit! Now I have to go buy this one too! I just spent way too much on the Harry Potter potion minis lol Haven’t gotten any dupes but I have them all on display in my living room. I glued some of the pieces down to the table so they can’t move but I kept some things not glued so it’s interactive. I love blacksmithing too. It’s so interesting.
The themeing & branding of these kids was really really well done! (The HP ones too)! The crucible really got me!! but the project itself was really difficult. It'd be tricky maybe, but a 2-part mold would've been easier to take the sword out, I think. I broke so many just trying to pull it out.
Jackie!! I am so excited that you did the Lord of the Ring ones! My husband and I love the movies and books. I definitely want to do this for a date night with him. ❤
I've actually been looking for this one locally, though I might need to order it online. These'd make great little projects and my husband could put them with some stuff around his computer. :D
I got a couple of these a few weeks ago, The resin for the Elvin Dagger IS STILL STICKY, even though it sits in a window with some good UV. I also kept it under the lamp for 30 minutes, rotating the mold every 5 minutes. I was really scared for the hilt to come out when unmolding it but it didn't after a bit longer under the lamp. I also got the hunting axe which is completely cured but I am still disappointed in the molds. I repurposed the files as a nail file. The different containers pertain to the different blacksmiths of the weapon you got. Green for all elven weapons, grey for dwarven (axes) and black for the Uruk Hai. Also I think the Sting with the Ring is the rare.
ok the outer design and the Language on the seal tape is a form of Elvish it is actually (if it's the inscription from the Ring of Power) the Dark Speech of Mordor. One Ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them. the Black ones with the white hand represent Saruman the evil white Wizard
Oh, OH! You got different versions of these kits! Mine have 60 minute wait times in the pamphlet and the resin NEVER cured no matter how long I kept it under a light and no matter what light I used. That's super interesting. I wonder if they changed things for some people. I'd love to hear they fixed some of the issues with their new resin because I stopped buying miniverse due to how bad the new resin is.
The part where you put the mica in the resin bottle was a big detail I didn't know. I'm going to try that on my next blade and see if the blade will turn out evenly one color and not half shiny half resin. Or globby shiny in areas.
I'd really love to see you try to make a miniature set up with some of these items, like in a room boxm because it'd really help to highlight the difference in scales. I'm a miniaturist and some of the items are great for standard 12th scale dolls houses and others are more barbie 6th scale.
This kit had more than enough resin. I made double all the swords (made my own little handles). And the shiny pigment didn’t need to be mixed in, the resin already had metal pigment. You had to put the pigment in the mold because that’s a shiny gleam the sword has out of the metal.
i need these and the harry potter ones. the different box deco shows the different sides, green is elven shows the map of middle earth, grey is dwarven and will show the way to the lonley mountain, and black is orc/witch king the bad guys

I'd really love to see you try to make a miniature set up with some of these items, like in a room boxm because it'd really help to highlight the difference in scales. I'm a miniaturist and some of the items are great for standard 12th scale dolls houses and others are more barbie 6th scale.
I love all tiny things. 🤭🥰Thank you. We hope you guys had a happy Halloween💜🧡💚🖤🎃
That is so cool, I kinda want them now.
This kit had more than enough resin. I made double all the swords (made my own little handles). And the shiny pigment didn’t need to be mixed in, the resin already had metal pigment. You had to put the pigment in the mold because that’s a shiny gleam the sword has out of the metal.
i need these and the harry potter ones. the different box deco shows the different sides, green is elven shows the map of middle earth, grey is dwarven and will show the way to the lonley mountain, and black is orc/witch king the bad guys
do you think that with the double headed axe you could've sanded the parts that go in the handle to make it it a bit thinner
Very true! But it was just overall awkward
@@NerdEJackieVlogs i get it. I did the food themed ones and those were awkward for me too. Not the same but awkward for me
OMG, I'm so excited how adorable
Jackie! You need to try the Harry Potter ones! ☺️
I thought I was over the minis, but I have to have
It sucks that you cant find the potion ones cause they are at every Walmart and target by me, like full boxes of them!
