Me too Goomer I don’t know what part of the world you’re in buddy but hopefully you got to see them on their one off reunion tour of Europe in 1993 I was fortunate to of gone to one of the 3 gigs they did in Britain 2 gigs at Wembley Arena where I went to see them not the stadium but the building next door to the stadium but I bet if they did do the stadium they would of filled it and they did Glastonbury before they flew back to America and for some reason they split again before they landed so they never had the chance to play a gig in America but over the years I’ve been to see quite a few legends of the music world and none of them comes anywhere close to the velvets gig I saw it has a privilege to of seen the original line up especially little Mo playing the drums she never sat down and for someone who so say couldn’t play the drums she’s in the top 6 female drummers of all time that is a great achievement I think so anyway plus she did a great solo during the gig take care of yourself buddy my best wishes to you from Stevie boy in Britain .

They totally summed up what a part of NY and America seemed to be to a kid in another country. Powerful, corrupt and always dangerous. Probably my favourite band. Deadly deadly.
What I like bout VU is that know one liked em when they were first around and even now no one likes them either apart from a few people! That’s what makes them cool coz only cool people know them. Play there songs to the average music fan and they will laugh at it and think it’s just kids mucking about coz it’s so childish and so that’s cool coz it’s not good playing it’s cool and that’s what’s important being cool

Reed was a pretty good , if arrogant poet , the music was laughable compared to let's say Pink Floyd . The " real life " thing was laudable , but the problem was their real life was self-destructive squalor . Good work on the documentary ! I like the video better than I ever liked the band .
Well when you write songs about the street, why wouldn't you want it to sound like it too? Mo's drumming was simple and childlike but always steady. It was perfect for their sound and amplified the songwriting.
"laughable compared to Pink Floyd" - THAT is a laughable statement haha....for every band I have heard say Pink Floyd was an influence on them I musta heard at least a 100 saying that for the Velvet Underground....Pink Floyd is a band that one grows out of by like age 17, cant stand listening to their pretentious meaningless art rock drivel anymore.
