SailGP is high speed, high tech and high impact. This global sports championship combines cutting-edge tech, iconic global venues, elite athletes and record-breaking speeds to create the most exciting racing on water. Rival teams from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Canada, France, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Spain battle it out at iconic venues around the world in short, intense races for a total prize pot of $7 million. Teams compete in identical hydrofoiling F50 catamarans that fly above the water at electrifying speeds approaching 100 km/h. Fan-centric and close-to-shore, each SailGP Championship culminates in a $2 million, three-boat, winner-takes-all Grand Final.

One of the best cities for this sort of course sail GP has seen. Wow.
Was an amazing weekend to experience and Halifax brought out the best weather for the racing. 😁. I think all of Halifax enjoyed SailGP here. Looking forward to the next time!
What an amazing weekend! Congratulations to Giles, Hannah, Matt, Neil, Nick, Hannah, Iain and Luke for an amazing win!
... there were more than 2 people aboard the boat!
Fabulous, exciting for thousands of on-site viewers, many of whom will become SaiGP fans, really hope SailGP back in HALIFAX 2025 !!
Looked like a great event and an amazing crowd. The league continues to experience growing pains. Hopefully lessons are learned and corrections are made. See you in NYC
Halifax could not get the boats into the water ? Not the most glamorous place on the planet.
BUT what great racing it was for the teams who where all on the ragged edge racing. Compelling stuff. Not watching a drag watching were the first over the line just sail away from the rest. Well done GB Ineos. 93 k hit on the turn for about 3 seconds in those conditions. .
WOW. The Final was great too. With Jeopardy for all boats at times. Could not ask for more except two more boats in the water. Come on Sail GP that just not good enough. I cannot wait for NYC as clearly these boats are getting upgrades and the crews are still learning.
Ended up so windy on the final day they could only hoist right before the race started. These boats are sketchy to lift in wind due to the sails.
The weather in NYC is really no different than in Halifax
They haven’t been INEOS GB since 2021, it’s Emirates GBR or just GBR now.
Impressive racing and carnage. Ups to the Brits. Sorry to not see the Kiwis in the final.
Yes because Halifax is such a northern city /s
Fun fact: Halifax is south of Portland, Oregon
Wtf is happening to USA ??
