Sly Cooper is one of my favorite game franchises (sans the 4th) and iv always been vaguely aware of how crazy the speedrun is, and how a skip to Mz Ruby's fight hasn't been found yet, but this is the first time I've sat down and watched one! Extremely impressive, such a fun way to see this game played!
The trigger for her boss fight only seems to spawn after the pressure plate is activated, where as with the other skips the trigger is always there it’s just a case of getting to it, looks unlikely we’ll ever find a skip 🥲
As usual, great work! Really back and forth with crazy timesave and painful timeloss but still managed to get a really good time save :). Look forward to whatever you try for next!
Played through this game probably 40 times as a child, including beating the whole game with a couple friends over the course of a sleep over. never seen the speedrun till now. Props for optimizing it so well!
Hey there! The song that was playing at that moment was Chaoz Fantasy from The Impossible Game (: if you are ever curious what song is playing at any moment, the song name fades in and out at the top of the gameplay feed every so often
So wait can someone explain the jump tech he’s doing? Like what’s happening there? I can guess he’s storing forward momentum by jump slash, but I’m confused as to how that’s actually working together???
Is this pcsx2 or running on actual hardware? Also I didn't know there was a new skip @ the police headquarters, That's dope. I've still been doing the og fall tech.
Awesome job! I'm trying to speedrun the game myself, and I've never seen the method used around 1:45 before. I'm trying to recreate it but I'm having trouble lining it up right. Do you have any tips, or are there any tutorials for that strat you could point me in the direction of? Thanks!
Hmm not an easy way to describe it without seeing how it reacts, but I can say that trick does react differently on different platforms you play on (not too sure how different, it's easiest on my BCPS3 so far..) BUT if you wanna see another example of it, my recent video on the ps5 can give you another perspective since I do it differently there
Hardly any of these glitches work been trying one singular glitch he done for the past 30 mins and it doesnt work, same exact platform playing it on too??
A lot of the tricks cannot be done on the ps3 remastered version of the game, but otherwise they should be working as long as it's the original ntsc ps2 release
