Hey Michelle as somebody born and raised in Italy (living in US now) I can advise you not to wait. It’s not so easy to find specialized high end boutiques there as we don’t have malls. It’s also more expensive than US. Living in Vegas you have much easier access to these brands than you would in Italy. Also in Italy everybody knows every little designer so the concept of quiet luxury doesn’t exist because people are quite trained in recognizing design items without labels and all designers are famous there, not just the big ones. Have fun!
Forgot to add. The way your name is spelled, in Italy that’s a guy name (the equivalent of Michael, we pronounce it as Mee ke lae), so if people expect a man seeing your name don’t be offended. If you want to be called with your name the way you pronounce it, we write it as Michelle and like that it’s pronounced correctly and a female name.

I was also born and raised in Italy (in the uk now) and while I agree on the availability, not all brands are available everywhere in Italy, I think the prices will be better there. She might also find some special things in multi brand boutiques which might have some unusual beautiful pieces from not well known brands. I agree with you, if Michele wants a specific item from a famous brand, she should get it in the US but I think if she stays open minded on what she wants she might find really beautiful items at amazing prices

I love the Sardine. It has a shoulder strap too. I’m so happy BV has returned to the old smaller weave. I bought a cassette but am not as happy with it as with my older Intrecciato camera bags. Love their wallets as well, great colors and nice small sizes. Alas for me, BV has increased their bag prices so significantly this year that I’ll be much more cautious before my next purchase.
I'm glad to hear that I'[m not the only one who goes to various retailers online and fill the shopping carts with handbags, niche perfumes, shoes, loungewear that I would like to buy. Yes, I have my eye on the Toteme bag too. I really enjoy videos. Thank you.

Thanks Michele for yet another timely video on exactly what I have been pondering these past couple of weeks😂 I love all your picks. I would have to say my favorites are the Bottegas and of the two I would select the Sardine bag. The Bottega Sardine looks like a collector's piece to me and seems more flexible (day to night) and has a strap which would be ideal for touring. The Foulard is also another gorgeous choice but I don't feel that it is quite as flexible. Happy shopping! 🛍

Hi Michele! ☀️ I am also a big fan of the Olive/Mustard/Ocre shade in everything! 😍 I have a Rag & Bone 100% cashmere sweater in that shade & I love it! I also agree that the shade is a great neutral and goes with almost everything. I love both the Bottega bags, but I’m leaning towards the sardine one. I love the unique handle detail, and I feel like everything would get lost in the bottom of the larger one. ❤❤❤

I bought a Mulberry Small Zipped Bayswater recently and I love it. The logo is really small, and the bag is a classic shape, and beautifully made.

I use my same bottega wallet everyday and my bag has been through night clubs and just walking around in the park, and I’m also very blasé when it comes to caring for them, and the quality is exceptional! Not a single scratch on either and my wallet is only just a little dirty but i have it in a very light beige color. One of my favorite luxury leather brands for sure 👍🏻

Great list. Super long time fan of Lord Piano. Suede is a personal preference. I love suede for shoes, both for upper and a no slip footbed (tends to be anti microbial). It provides a matte "texture" to outfits. I do not care suede handbags because suede "clings" slightly to clothing enough to annoy me. Love my BV bags and SLG's. Their Sardine bag is absolutely awesome....to look at. I am not sure about the execution. If you do not mind holding a bag in your hand all night then get it. It is something really special. I always end up resting handle bags on my wrist or arm. I do not enjoy carrying anything in my hands, and will put things down (and leave behind) to get them out of my hands. This includes my iPhone 14 Pro, wallets. I learned many many years ago from my Gucci bamboo top handle bag and a Prada metal handle bag that I completely loathe hard handles on bags. They do not play nicely with my arms/wrists for any length of time so I will end up leaving the bag in the car.

The Lord Piana is to me the only one I would purchase for me. It is a stunning piece! I do love everything that has an equestrian or military vibe.

Do you treat your bags with leather protector? Like for cracking or water repellency? Or do they come protected?

I have a large tote by Brahmin that is my idea of what you call quiet luxury. Brown python print and stamped, but not the raised pattern; dark brown trim, nice brass feet to preserve the bottom. I carried this bag every day for SEVEN YEARS, then took it to a shoe repair for refurbishing and re-dyeing. It was a gift, maybe $400.? and I spent $125. for the refurbishing. I bet I'll get another seven years out of it. Quality counts! Love the video!

I vote the SARDINE 🐟! No to the other BV as it reminds me of the Chanel 22 but less functional. I would be so annoyed digging for my stuff in that big Bv bag. The sardine is much better and that handle is 💯. Love that Loro piana bag, I am really into suede now 🤣🤣🤣 it’s like a challenge to keep it pristine and for some weird reason, I like that ! 😅😅 agree that it’s sooo not practical but the contrast of Texture is really stunning. Looking forward to your unboxings!

I would choose the Sardine , because I think if you actually put anything in the foulard, it would distort the drapey shape of it.

Hi Michele, I've had my eye on the Bottega 'sardine' bag - I love the handle and the woven leather, so this bag has my vote. As someone else mentioned, you may find a design in Italy that isn't readily available in the US; I think it would be fun to explore the different boutiques for something unique. It also depends on exactly where you will be in Italy and how much time you truly have to shop. Whatever you decide, have a wonderful and safe trip! But you would like us to help you chose what we think is best for your travels.l love them all except for #4 given the fact it is so well made.l am torn between the Totem Tote, and the Bottega Venetta gold tone sardine bag with that killer gold handle. Your right it does look like a fish. But in reality the tote would I think for a vacation shopping trip would great. Just think of all you can put daily in that jewel. Have Fun. My vote is number 3.

I love that toteme t lock, so chic... I vote for the sardine I have a tom ford era ysl mombasa bag, so i appreciate the design. Tom ford also has a similar gold handle hobo.
The only thing about bv, is i hate how they stopped lining their bags. So over time items will poke through the woven leather

For the Bottega Bags- I would vote for the Sardine bag as its very unique and just plain cool to look at.
I don't know about the Loro Piana bag- Its gorgeous but due to it being suede how much use would you get from it living in a warmer climate? I always associate suede with late fall and winter. Just a thought!

Hi Michelle, your skin has been looking absolutely beautiful of late; if it’s something you’re testing don’t hold back. Love that you also cart shop, favourite past time of mine. Out of the BV choices I would choose the Foulard Intrecciato Leather Top Handle Bag over the Sardine but in black, the light catches the black weave beautifully and does not look flat. The Sardine to me is something that will have to be handheld or over the wrist and with skincare products I find these embellishments can have the tendency to discolour. I would agree that if you want any of these bags get them in the US, while they are available. Leave Italy for something truly special and different. ❤️

If you know what you like, pre-order sometime it better because brand could increase the price when product launch at the store. I preorder a Bottega veneta tosca shoulder bag ( pre-order sep 2022, finalised payment Oct 2022, received my bag 3 days after). The bag increase the price right after I received my bag (bag was not in the UK store yet), and less then one year 16% more already…crazy😅
Heck, I am lucky to purchase Kate Spade. That is the only brand that I can only think about.
I agree that pre-ordering feels a bit uncertain, like a limbo for purchases. Btw, I like window-cart shopping, too. 😂

I've Just returnned from Italy today and I am catching up on your videos. Buy the bags that you like in the United States. You would be suprised how different the stock in the shops vary. I agree on the lightweight Bruno C for travel. It is sooo hot right now, and the most important thing to take along are very comfortable shoes because there are virtually no flat surfaces only coblestones, (though Milan is slightly better) and light weight clothes. I love the Sardine, it is very chic and different!

All of your choices - from then and now- are so elegant. I have the Bottega Jodie on my wishlist and am searching pre-loved for it. That, and the Celine box bag are ones I'd love to add to my collection! I think that Furla is a sort of forgotten brand who makes quiet luxury pieces with high quality materials and is really quite affordable!

I have the sardine and love mine! A couple of things to note- the handle is quite heavy and substantial. Also I can never get the leather to fold and drape as nicely as the picture. That being said it’s a great day to night bag and if it being that top handle only style bag is not a bother then I think it’ll be for you. The size is substantial and I can fit most everything I need. I can also sort of balance it in the crook of my arm for something a tiny bit more hands free.
I’ve been eyeing the foulard as well but have no idea how that strap will feel on the shoulder. I am wary of white intrecciato leather- I had a white mini Jodie and it was just rough to keep clean. Good picks though! Id definitely be open to the foulard but didn’t see it in store on my recent trip to NYC.

Sardine! It is so different. I think you would use the Sardine more than the other style which looks like it would be really irritating to dig down and get something out of it. All of the bags on the wish list are gorgeous.

The bottega sardine and hammock are both super cute. I dunno why but when I saw the hammock, I thought it was so you….with your funky shoes you have . The sardine is more practical and will go with many outfits. It’s a safer choice and you’ll get more use out of it. But that white hammock BV is truly special too never seen anything like it.
