- I wasn’t going to make this video, but thought I’d cobble this together to help other owners experiencing the same issue.

I’ve got a massive rattle from the spoiler on mine, I’ve just lived with it out of fear of breaking something. Video has given me the confidence to tackle it before my car is back on the road again. 👍🏻👍🏻

Now that's what the noise is. Thanks I did the rattle check!!. I thought it was the parcel shelf or something the kids had left in the back. Neoprene ordered 👌

If you haven't already I would highly suggest investing in a Disklok and some sort of tracker or at least a ghost immobiliser for your Mk2. Too many of these are stolen (my previous one was stolen years back and has never been found!). Take care :)
Hi mate I do have a disklok. It’s also garaged with another car in front of the door and I have full CCTV

I’ve got a similar rattle on my new ST Fiesta. Turns out the fold where the tailgate opening meets the C pilar isn’t welded properly from the factory. Oh joy!

@@CarFocused yep, along with the leaking windscreen they had to keep the car for 4 weeks for.

That's one to keep my eye on i have one for you....i have a 2010 mk2 rs i had a annoying rattle later found the exhaust cover was touching the exhaust one bolt had lost grip 👍
Funny you should say that when I was cleaning underneath I did notice the heat shield was close in one area but wasn’t touching…
Great job mate that looks & sounds much better I've got wing risers on my st & so far no rattles so hope it stays that way

Got my spoiler back on today I really cannot believe the difference!
The hatch shuts with a lovely deep thud now rather than the cheap nasty horrible rattly noise of before 😍
Haven’t driven it yet as it’s Sorned until April but can’t wait to see what’s it’s like now.
It’s one of those things that happen over the years (I’ve had it nine) you don’t realise how bad it’s gotten until it’s fixed.

Hi mate, great video. Step by step is brilliant. I bought the roll of neoprene and it’s pretty good already used it for something else! I don’t suppose you have a link to the sealant washers you got or know where I could get some? My spoiler is in desperate need of a re-foam! Thanks in advance!
I’ve looked all over Halfords website but can’t seem to find the box of assorted washers, are they fibre washers the ones you’ve got?
Hi mate when I’m home I’ll let you know what the part number is for the box I have. I believe they’re a mixture of fibre & rubber but I’ll double check.
@@CarFocused cheers for the reply bud, i did see some but they were in Ireland Halfords only 🤣 I’ve found a pack that contains 6 with 3 varying sizes for £8. It’s the 3 inner bolt ones im struggling to find sizes for. Appreciate your help mate

Hey dude did you experience water leaking into the boot/trunk or dripping through the trim under the spoiler when you open the boot/trunk?
I haven’t but it sounds like you need to seal around the the threads / clips on the spoiler like a did in this video 👍🏻
If it doesn't rattle it's not a Ford 😄 nice easy fix though!

I never had a creak or rattle on my Mk3 RS even after 6years of ownership.

@@Quagmire925 or you just haven't owned a modern Ford and are just talking nonsense. My Volvo rattles, my Subaru rattles, my GR Yaris rattles. My RS didn't have a single rattle and the Mrs's Kuga is also rattle free. Modern Fords don't rattle any more than German cars much like they don't rust like they used to.
@@tracktimevideos5164 I had the most annoying rattle behind the sync3 screen on mine after about 6 months in. Didn’t want to take it in for warranty because no doubt after Ford had pulled it all out it would have probably rattled even more 😂
