3 murder fans and Matt Gourley mysteriously missing... hmm
I've loved Cold Case (the documentary series and the serial crime show) and TruTV before I even know my fandom of Conan was related, so this is a real joy. Combined with Bill Hader, there should be some sort of "CrimeCon" that Conan can do some remotes from 😛
The only true crime podcast I've seen is one I stumbled on called "Crue Trime" (RUclips = 'Better Off Red') - She tells her stories while applying make-up - which is oddly entertaining - maybe because I know nothing about make-up, and couldn't fathom spending that much time on it - like a cat watching someone take a bath. Or maybe it's how seemingly clownish applications get blended, in the end, into a thing of beauty - And, of course, the stories are good to.
So glad she clarified it was a fiction novel.
The problem with trying to dispose of a body in a body of water is as it decomposes it will bloat and release gases and could float. To prevent that before you sink it puncture each organ with a long knife to let the gases out. Another method is to tightly wrap the body in chicken wire so as it bloats the wire will cut into the skin to help let the gases out, but puncturing the organs is easier. If burying the body bury it vertically with the feet up with at least 3 feet of dirt between the feet and the surface. You can liquify a body by boiling it with lye but that takes longer and is more involved.
Will be. He is preparing
Ashley Flowers is a known plagiarist. I do wish Conan had chosen one of the many other true crime podcasters to be on his show.
That why Dahmer was so interesting. He just didn't gaf and kept a 57-gallon drum containing several bodies decomposing in chemicals in his apartment bedroom lol
Is it just me, or does Sona look a little like Sarah McLachlan?
bay harbor butcher this. xd
finally after years in show business we getting to know the real conan. love it. here for it. want more of it.
I would definitely listen to a Conan/Sona true crime podcast. Lmao. Conan would always tell a joke at the most inappropriate times
I second this.
It's a brilliant idea
And Sona would eventually come up with something so disgusting that the whole world is shocked that she said it. Even she herself would be shocked.
true crime podcast = groomer pedo celebratory party
"There's a voice in the Sky and I'm trying to be a good person." ...definitely using that one.
Perfectly succinct explanation of all religion
THA BEST LOL
"I think about murder all the time." Said while sitting next to his assistant Sona six weeks before her mysterious disappearance.
You're joking right? She isn't actually missing is she??
@@adaabeja2061 she's missing. It's all over twitter and there's apparently an ongoing investigation going on currently. It's very worrying
where on twitter ? i searched sona on there and couldn’t find anything i’m worried :(

Sorry to be the stereotypical comment section finger wagging vibe killer, but it's a bummer anytime I see Ashley and this podcast get propped up as something good and valuable and fun. The weird fuzzy line between tragedy and entertainment the true crime genre straddles is understandably complicated, and I don't think it's always done irresponsibly, but Crime Junkie has flown cheerfully over that line in so many different ways and I wish more true crime fans were critical and strict about how unacceptable it is.
There are lots of stories, some involving plagiarism (to which their response was childish and dismissive), but I'll never forget hearing about a live show they did where, in front of a theatre full of fans, they talked about whether the father of a missing girl might be guilty like it was a bit of fun gossip, all while that father had already been acquitted. They might have known, they might not have known, and both possibilities are horrible in different ways. It's really gross stuff.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds an obsessive with true crime to be kind of icky!
@@DarkMoonWayfarer Women are the primary audience for true crime garbage, and they all get off on it. They listen to it because they like the idea of being kidnapped and possibly killed, they get sexually excited by the idea of that terror and danger.
Thank y'all for everything you do. Conan is my favorite comedian/improviser/host of all. I've been watching and listening for years. I literally had an anxiety attack the other day to the point I wanted to cry and I thought 'i need to listen to something soothing and comedic to cheer me up" and I immediately thought of Conan Needs a Friend and this episode had me laughing and helped control my anxiety. One of my bucket list is to meet you, if just for a minute. I can't wait to see what else you accomplish. MURDERER!
I’m just still surprised true crime junkie is still around after they plagiarized all of their early episodes. Ashley Flowers and co. blatantly plagiarized smaller podcasts and books several times, got caught, and never apologized.
I was binge listening to a lot of true crime podcasts during the pandemic and the first I discovered was MFM (My favorite Murder) then when I'm all caught up I switch to another podcast then when I listened to Crime Junkie and can't help but notice similarities.
Same ..Too many people kissing her butt in comments , i do not understand why she has the #1 crime podcast on itunes and other places.. many many other true crime podacsts never say her name but often remark about a certain podcast that "borrows" its material from all of them..they never give her kudos , i always hear them talk up other true crime podcasts but i never heard another one say nice things about her and crime junkie.
Wow... I wonder if conan is aware of this.. I dont think he'd have her on if he did.
Oh wow, that is very ironic considering Conan's been on MFM before.
@@radiant97_ that's the reason I discovered them first.
So happy they had Ashley as a guest. I'm such a fan!
Too bad they didn't pick a better true crime podcaster. Plagiarizing and not apologizing is not cool. It sucks that so many people support her. Red Handed would be a way better choice to have on this show
My Favorite Murder is the biggest true crime podcast, just to be clear. Crime Junkies is one of the worst of the genre. MFM & RedHanded are the top ones.
Awesome that Conan is getting a variety of people on but it'd be cool if next time it's not among the worst of the true crime podcast community since Ashley has repeatedly and blatantly word for word plagiarised harder working peoples content. She has no shame or respect for true crime.
Plenty of other deserving true crime podcasts.
Cry more
Some links/proof would be helpful 👍
@@bernlin2000 just Google "crime junkie plagiarism". You'll find tons of articles about this including The New York Times, Variety, Vulture, and more. She's never apologized to the podcasts she plagiarized from, which is why people are still upset with her.
Plagiarism is such a weird charge for a lot of these. Often times its only that these are popular stories that have specific source materials that everyone is pulling from, or little at all. Or they are stories that its appropriate to mention and reference other theories and ideas people have had. It's not plagiarizing if we both write a book about WWII and I reference some of your ideas.
@@rachelropp1083 it was literally word for word transcripts of other podcasts she copied. Entire episodes without changing the words or the order.
4:05 After having kids, I just can’t listen to true crime involving children. 😢
Also HATE unsolved mysteries. So damn sad. But glad someone is covering them so that they may be solved one day.
Also love Ashley’s voice. It’s easy listening.
Also easy to look at!!
But wait… You could listen to crime about children before? This is why society skin is is going through crime! The majority are very self involved. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. Obviously, you care about your kids and stuff. But do you know what I mean? Does that make sense not to you cause I don’t wanna be rude like that it’s not fair for you to be able to celebrate your children and then me troll you. But this comment really made me want to make another comment or statement that I feel like we are very self involved with our families. However what Ashley is saying is it is other families. Just like Israel Keyes. How the hell was he able to murder an 18-year-old when he loved his daughter so much? So for me people who love their kids too much, to help with other crimes or just part of the problem, you know what I mean? We’ve gotta put in more effort people!
Woah it's weird seeing Ashley. I've been listening to crime junkies for like 3 years but never seen her face till now lol
my two worlds collidingggggg,,,,,,,
I'm not here for the competition , I'm just here to appreciate the talent
Conan has the perfect alibi: his TV personality as an insanity defense.
They should do one crime episode together ❤
I can listen to them talk murder for hours🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
This is the first time I’ve ever seen Ashley flowers nervous. Other than her first few episodes. But I I think it’s endearing and I think she made a very good choice in wearing black. If it was me I’d be sweating bricks. The thing is is that she is a force. She is one of the most influential, millennials that I know! But her humbleness comes through in this interview. Even after all the years. I really think this girl has some thing.
Love this! Please interview Phoebe Judge next!
She wrote a "fiction novel"...
There's an episode of Columbo where killer tries to bury a body at a construction site, like you mentioned. Good episode!
I knew a couple that murdered her husband and buried the body in a pig pen and poured a concrete slab over it. They also promptly moved in together, among other suspicious activity - and talked to 'somebody' about what they did - because cops were digging up the hog lot within a month. Btw, they both served approx 3-5 years in prison - for murder!
A hog lot is a pretty effective way to dispose of a body. Domesticated pigs are not vicious, but they will eat just about anything. A body, dead or unconscious, would be nudged and nipped at - and, if it didn't react - eaten - bones and all.....
@@DwayneShaw1 you’re reminding me of Belle Guinness - female serial killer that fed her suitors to her hogs!
OP reminded me of that episode of Roseanne when they talk about Crystal’s first husband…that was buried in the bridge he was pouring🫤😬
Columbo is one of the greatest shows of all-time!
@@DwayneShaw1 You need 16 pigs to eat a body in one sitting.
“If I was a pumpkin, and you were a lady, would you marry me anyway..” #WouldYouHave My baby. I know the classics.
I could listen to Conan talk about murder for any length of time
Don’t agree with her politically, but Ashley has a voice for podcasting and is a star compared to other crime hosts.
When they were listening the ways to dispose of a body, Sona should have asked Conan for his preference.
There's a voice in the sky and I'm trying to be a good person 😂
Brava Conan, brava ... another good n for the liked list .. made me make little chuckle noises. Keep'em comin Conan. 🙏
Can't wait for the Eddy Redmayne true crime story of Conan's life
She is obsessed with Israel Keyes. I’m sure she’s gonna bring up Israel Keyes she’s obsessed.
Crime junkies has to be the worst of entertainment
I had no idea that Conan was a true crime junkie. I am surprised. I am a fellow true crime junkie.
Damn she gorgeous
Pigs do a great job with getting rid of bodies/bones. (So I'm told...)

"its a fiction novel" lol
My mom was so religious that even Christmas was considered too out there.
Religion will melt your brain
I always throw my dead bodies into volcanoes.
Everything is fine except the “weekend at Bernie’s” flight to Hawaii
The reason why women are so obsessed with true crime content is because it lets them fantasize about how they would survive a run-in with a murderer/serial killer since they are frequently the victims. Whenever a man is obsessed with true crime stuff like Conan is, it's really weird.
I love Conan so much😂
Wow! She has a really creepy smile and laugh. Reminds me of Tina Fey in Only Murders in the building. R
This is a bit creepy but funny!
Sona is especially funny in this clip.
How to murder your wife was a Jack
Lemmon comedy from the sixties that Lemmon was a cartoonist that made a comic strip that described a guy killing his wife and dumping her into wet concrete at a construction site
His wife went away and the police thought he had actually killed his wife and dumped her.
It's a great movie typical Jack Lemmon comedy
Go to the cemetery and find a fresh grave and place them there because nobody looks for a dead body there its like hiding it in plain sight
Before reading the thumbnail, I thought Ashley was Millie Bobbie Brown from far away 😂
Most murderers are just lazy or stupid. How hard can it be to properly weigh a body down & drop it in the ocean or a huge deep lake?
I believe its only one victim still under the freeways in CA, Ramona Price is presumed to be underneath the Winchester Overpass in Santa Barbara.
True crime is the worst.
Please consider inviting Mike from That Chapter! He's so entertaining.

Regarding Conan's question to her about the best place to bury a dead body and she said in a construction zone, that happened in Lethal Weapon 3. The guy was killed and his body was thrown into wet cement in a construction zone.
I can see it now... Sona buries Conan with his legs sticking out of the concrete and on the concrete it says Matt Was Here with a carved out heart ❤️ symbol 😜
Santa Cruz murder capital of the world. Cause people are strange when ur a stranger

You could say, they gave her, her flowers 😎
One minute 55 seconds, that’s when she gets into her brain and she goes! The confidence is there, because the curiosity is their Conan is no longer the most important person in the room, the victim is! Do you see this? This is what I mean by genuine brilliance.
