Thanks for the video, I was going to grab the Legends 2 pack but the Select figures look better and are more in scale, plus the select are cheaper to buy now. Colossus's forearms are way to big compared to his biceps
Good Review, I like the Marvel selects figure in Juggernaut more height and more texture which is good for display, a too smooth surface texture figures makes it more of a toyish grade in displaying especially with lighting in your Curios, but don't get me wrong most of my collections are Marvel Legends, but comparing this Juggernaut to the Marvel select one, the Marvel Select looks more of a Hobby Grade, In size, in costume, in coloring, and in detail. I personally waited on this 2-Pack to get a Colossus and Juggernaut for my collection, but then again, I only have Marvel Legends, they're what I'm most familiar with, so I stuck with that.. The only Marvel Select that has tempted me thus far is the Rogue, and that's mostly on the basis of affordability, and the fact that I can just mod her legs to bring her height down to be more in-line with my Legends. Right now the most glaring holes in my X-Men collection are Cyclops and Rogue.
I have both versions of the Colossus & Juggernaut figures and I like both equally, for different reasons, and use them interchangeably, depending on my mood preference and how I want to display things. You can't go wrong either way, both are awesome. As for Rogue... Since I missed the Jim Lee Rogue, and absolutely refuse to pay ridiculous scalper prices, of upwards around $150 or more, I bought the Selects Rogue myself. Yes, she's a little taller than probably I'd prefer, if I had my choice, BUT she comes with multiple hand options, 2 Danger Room diorama pieces, and if you are posing her in flight positions, the scale differences aren't as obvious as you'd think. Besides, I've always seen her in the comics being slightly more statuesque and leggy, especially when teamed up with Wolverine (particularly back during the Silvestri X-Men run), so I decided not to chop her legs...at least for now. I hope that helps your decision when considering your Rogue option. (Also, I bought an extra Vintage Dazzler and had an extra Mystique Rogue head, so I'm going to customize a ML Jim Lee 90's Rogue, which is one of my least favorite versions of her character designs. Prefer the more versatile black base leotard and green accent garments/accessories version myself.
But honestly,im still on the fence on which Colossus to get now ,i mean do i make a custom shirtless version ala Jim Lees xmen 248? Or just go with the classic select? I know it's up to me but idk. Help!
You called Colossus Cyclops heh But this is an excellent review and comparison. I am buying the set reluctantly. I really like my MS Jug but happy to have a ML one too I guess.
private private yeah I caught it and pinned a comment when I first posted the video saying that I made that mistake. It’s a good two pack but the Marvel Select versions look good because of the shading and size.
The new JUGGERNAUT has a reddish tint to the brown of his armor. In the comics, CYTTORAK, the demon whom JUGGERNAUT is the avatar of, is said to be crimson. I’m just baffled as why JUGGERNAUT doesn’t have red armor. But regardless, it’s a very nice figure, beefy and chunky!

Eh, to me the scaling isn't that big of a deal. Many characters are often different depending on the artist. Like Thing was originally 6 feet, but he's often depicted as being much larger.
Yeah, to some people it isn’t a big deal. But, like I have already said, characters being depicted at different heights does not negate the fact that Marvel has given them official heights. So, this video was based on official heights and how they scaled in comparison. I didn’t do a scientific study to determine the exact number of inches every figure made should be, because I would need a baseline character to go off of. Bottom line, some people may find the video informative/entertaining and some won’t. Can’t please everyone!
@@MarvelUsReviews I get what you mean, it was just an informative video and the scaling inaccuracy might be a problem or not depending on the person. To me there is no right or wrong, just personal preference

Awesome - This is exactly what I wanted to see. I don't like the torso gap on the Select Colossus, but the Select Juggernaut just looks WAYYY better. Select Juggs for sure, then we'll go from there! ;P Cheers!^^
These are some awesome figures! I like the marvel select Juggernaut best out of these.. Made me want to go and look for a Colossus/Juggernaut/Unstoppable Colossus Figure.
Marvel legends always wins out for me. Selects often use colors that are too dirty or overly realistic, and they usually don’t feel good in hand in addition to only having ~20 points of articulation and not many accessories. Only time I buy selects is if the character cannot be affordably found in marvel legends form and the figure scales well.
Flash forward to now, a customized Colossus Age of apocalypse baf. Just think a shirtless, well sculpted upper torso and chest. Just need to find the classic Colossus head and not the screaming bandana head😂💯
I have both of the Selects.....and it would be a pass but I want that Juggernaut with the broken mask enough, and I am getting the other 80 years packs so I would just regret it when they r double the price👍...great review
The only thing I don’t agree in ml select colo, is his neck is too far to his shoulders Make his neck too tall without his neck sleeve, And minor articulations on his torso, thats all There’s some of your point that significantly, you put the ml select on top Like you already enjoy them on your shelf, The fact is classic comic body height is little off on newer comic (before original sin) Example abomination, always portrait shorter than hulk in the marvel data, But newer comic actually really showing abo a clear taller than hulk,
I own all four, and indeed, it's a tough one. I prefer the Legends Juggernaut *by far.* It perfectly captures the comic/video game look of the character..as opposed to the beautifully more realistic Select version. With Colossus, still have to give it to Legends. The short height is a bummer, but I love that more vibrant silver paint. Plus, it has the round Jim Lee style belt buckle. The Select does have a better head; with two colours used for the eyes, while the legends is just that silver paint. And I'd say the Select one is too long-legged, while Legends is too squat.
I'm the exact opposite on who's the star of this. I'm paying $60 for a Jim Lee Colossus and getting a bonus juggernaut with him. I prefer the Marvel Select Juggernaut over the original BAF, but I think I actually like the 80th Juggernaut the most, but I didn't really NEED a Juggernaut in my collection, I'm on a pretty tight budget for toy collecting.
This is indeed an awesome set. I traded my marvel select Juggernaut figure for this at a local mom and pop toy shop. I don't collect anymore, but when I did, I definitely made sure this was something to add. Great characters, great figures, and great box art.
They are definitely proportionally longer than the Legends version. But X-Men comic fans will have to weigh in on if he was ever drawn that way. I think I remember seeing him drawn like that, but I’m not 100%
@@MarvelUsReviews well, Colossus has been around since 1975 my dude; an artist screwing up proportion doesn't make bad proportion okay. If that were true it would excuse Rob Liefeld entirely and there is no excuse for Rob Liefeld.
In Hulk, he was 15 to 25 feet tall, becoming taller the more angry he became. In The Incredible Hulk, he will not grow over nine feet tall, which is closer to his comic book counterpart's height of seven feet. But , in The Avengers Banner is 68 inches tall while Hulk is around 96 inches tall (8 feet).
Given your scale comparison, the physical height difference between Cyclops and Kingpin is the same as that between Kingpin and Hulk. And yet the corresponding listed height differences are 4 inches compared to 1 foot! That's clearly not a good basis for favoring the MS Colossus over the ML version. If anything, the Kingpin and Hulk figures should each be a head shorter. The ML Colossus scales better with the rest of the 6-inch line, I think.
I don’t think anyone would want a shorter Kingpin or Hulk figure though. And I also considered the shading and articulation. The comparison isn’t solely based on height. But my stance is, either way you don’t lose. Their all great looking figures! 👍 thanks for watching!
The issues in scale don’t come from colossus, the King Pin is too big to be “properly” in scale with Cyclops and Colossus(which is okay with me but it’s unfair to criticize this figure because of another figure’s faults. When you take into account that these figures are 1/6 scale, colossus is actually really close to the exact height. The Juggernaut could be bigger but the height difference between him and other characters changes incredibly often in the comics, even in the classic comics(which the figure is based of) he is just a little bigger that colossus.
I wasn’t trying to criticize any of the figures. I was just pointing out how they scale differently. And yes, it is true that they have been drawn at different heights. But, they do have official heights given by Marvel, which is what I was using. I like all of the figures and everyone has their own preference.
Marvel & Other Stuff but together they’re the same price if not more than The Legends two pack because the lowest I’ve seen for the select colossus is $27 and the lowest I’ve seen on Jugs is about $27-$32 but the cheapest I’ve seen for the two pack is about $59 give or take $5 or $10 but the thing I like about the selects is that you can buy them separately like buy one now and then one next week when you get paid again if you want lol
height doesnt really matter for the super powered big guys. Hulk and Juggernaut have been drawn looking like crazy sizes. i have the MS figures and I would still take the Legends figures over them. good review
No it's fact. Select is 1/10 scale. ML is 1/12 scale. So they're literally not in scale. But if you need more proof... Colossus is 7'5", so a figure in 1/12 scale needs to be 7.5" tall. Go ahead and measure the select and see for yourself
Comic characters change in height, mass and physical characteristics all the time depending upon the writer and artists who are doing the comics at the time. So comparing a bunch of random action figures and saying that they dont schale properly is ridiculous, this is fiction not real life. None of these characters exist.
I know on the Marvel database it says that Hulk is 7'6", but that was in the early days of the characters existence in the comics. Over the decades, Hulk has been depicted much larger. Today most of us know the character to be a large gamma monster. So, Hulk being near the size of Juggernaut (who is 9'5") is quite common and definitely makes the Hulk a lot more imposing, rather than being a "monster" who is only 7'6". 7'6" makes the Hulk just barely taller than a really tall NBA player. However, 7'5" for Colossus in his armored form is appropriate.
The two pack is based on the characters early days in the comics. So, you might have a good point if this was a modern version of Hulk. However, Marvel never changed his official height. Although, I do agree that he has been depicted taller. The problem that I would have though is that Bruce Banner is only 5'9". So, him growing to a 9 foot monster would mean there is no way any of his clothing would survive that transformation. Even at 7'6", it's a stretch. But, it's comics, so anything is possible I suppose.
@@titangaming6923 I believe you are referring to the 2003 Ang Lee Hulk film. That isn't the case in the comics. Hulk is normally depicted in the 8'5" - 9 ft range in the comics.
Man, I'm torn.. I have the Select Colossus already. The Select Juggernaut isn't all that expensive.. I have to say, as far as scale goes; I think the Legends Colossus is probably more in scale to the other X-Men Legends figures in terms of the official bios. However, many of the Legends figure representations such as Kingpin(6'7") and Beast(5'11") are out of scale anyways. Both are way too big and fit more in official scale with the Select figures. To play devil's advocate though, bigger characters are drawn to different scales by artists. Characters such as Juggernaut, Colossus, Kingpin, Hulk, Abomination, Wendigo, Sasquatch, Venom, Sabretooth, Thor, and even Beast are often drawn as giants. For this reason alone, I think Select Colossus looks pretty good with the rest of the Legends X-Men. I kind of like the stark contrast in scale. This is why I prefer the Select Sabretooth with the Legends Wolverine as Sabretooth(6'6") is more often portrayed as over 7' tall in the comics and cartoons.

These are some awesome figures! I like the marvel select Juggernaut best out of these.. Made me want to go and look for a Colossus/Juggernaut/Unstoppable Colossus Figure.

This version of Cyclops???
Hulks height is variable, so he is pretty much whatever height you like, and if MS Colossus is the right height, he doesn’t work in his own line???
Marvel legends always wins out for me. Selects often use colors that are too dirty or overly realistic, and they usually don’t feel good in hand in addition to only having ~20 points of articulation and not many accessories. Only time I buy selects is if the character cannot be affordably found in marvel legends form and the figure scales well.
Plus the old-style hips/ legs articulation always sets me off. It breaks up the look of the figure.
Thanks for watching!
The only thing I don’t agree in ml select colo, is his neck is too far to his shoulders
Make his neck too tall without his neck sleeve,
And minor articulations on his torso, thats all
There’s some of your point that significantly, you put the ml select on top
Like you already enjoy them on your shelf,
The fact is classic comic body height is little off on newer comic (before original sin)
Example abomination, always portrait shorter than hulk in the marvel data,
But newer comic actually really showing abo a clear taller than hulk,
This was awesome, your awesome
I own all four, and indeed, it's a tough one. I prefer the Legends Juggernaut *by far.* It perfectly captures the comic/video game look of the character..as opposed to the beautifully more realistic Select version.
With Colossus, still have to give it to Legends. The short height is a bummer, but I love that more vibrant silver paint. Plus, it has the round Jim Lee style belt buckle. The Select does have a better head; with two colours used for the eyes, while the legends is just that silver paint. And I'd say the Select one is too long-legged, while Legends is too squat.
Good points. Thanks for watching!
He is definitely a good looking figure!
Can you swap the alternate hands from the ml to the select?
No you can’t
This is indeed an awesome set. I traded my marvel select Juggernaut figure for this at a local mom and pop toy shop. I don't collect anymore, but when I did, I definitely made sure this was something to add. Great characters, great figures, and great box art.
I find so many of the new figures with that body type to be so stocky looking.
Select Colossus and Legends Jugs for me.
Good choice!
It’s probably perspective but that Select Colossus’ legs seem too long.
The are, Marvel Select tends to do that, the Magneto is a horror show.
Good review bro👍
Given your scale comparison, the physical height difference between Cyclops and Kingpin is the same as that between Kingpin and Hulk. And yet the corresponding listed height differences are 4 inches compared to 1 foot! That's clearly not a good basis for favoring the MS Colossus over the ML version.
If anything, the Kingpin and Hulk figures should each be a head shorter. The ML Colossus scales better with the rest of the 6-inch line, I think.
exactly what i was thinking
I have the astonishing X-men Colossus. If he was any bigger he wouldn't look right at all next to the rest of my X-men.
I don’t think anyone would want a shorter Kingpin or Hulk figure though. And I also considered the shading and articulation. The comparison isn’t solely based on height. But my stance is, either way you don’t lose. Their all great looking figures! 👍 thanks for watching!
great comparison, thanks for vid..
Sorry to disappoint, but Juggernaut is only 6' 10". While Hulk is 7' to 8' tall depending on what version of Hulk you get.
I bought the marvel select ones cause thy were cheaper
And that's a great point!
Marvel & Other Stuff but I have the select versions because I got them separately and I’m happy with them
swap the belts and it’s perfect
That's a good idea!
Select Juggernaut shit Kickers look beat to death.. Ol Soggy Boots Juggernaut.. Ran a Marathon Boots.. 😂
Im a super big Marvel Legends collector and obviously its all personal preference but youre a damn fool if you think the legends version is better
height doesnt really matter for the super powered big guys. Hulk and Juggernaut have been drawn looking like crazy sizes. i have the MS figures and I would still take the Legends figures over them. good review
Thanks!
The height for hulk is very subjective.
Select Colossus is too large. Point blank period.
In that case is Hulk and king pit too large the one that is too large. In 1\12 scale one inch translate to one feet.
Hulk is 8,0 or 8,1
When did the Juggernaut became 9'5 he was 6'10 , must be a power up.
Juggernaut was never 6’10
I know on the Marvel database it says that Hulk is 7'6", but that was in the early days of the characters existence in the comics.
At one point wasn't it stated Hulks height could increase to close to 15 ft depending on how angry he was
@@titangaming6923 I believe you are referring to the 2003 Ang Lee Hulk film. That isn't the case in the comics. Hulk is normally depicted in the 8'5" - 9 ft range in the comics.
Ok thanks for clearing that up I'm not a huge fan of the Hulk didn't know if they retconed that in or not
The Selects are way better! Legends Colossus has a belt too big for him, and the select Juggy is massive like how he should be.
Marvel Select x2 hands down...
LOL!
These new marvel legends are firing on all cylinders, there almost as good as the toybiz days
Almost?🤔 Hasbro has been surpassed Toy Biz by numerous miles.😂😂
@@JohnnyBlaze_616 NUMEROUS indeed!
Colossus?
This version of cyclopse lol 7:18
Yeah, I’ve already explained that I caught that error before making the video live. See the pinned comment at the top.
He said cyclops lol 7:20
Sculpt ,paintjob goes to marvel select
Articulation goes to marvel legends
The marvel select ones should not be counted for scaling because select is 7 inch scale, and legends that you compared them to are 6 inch scale
Marvel Legends is for kids. Marvel Legends are for adults. Imo
Toybiz still the best.
Cyclops lol.
I know....lol! Can’t believe I messed that up.
Mern
Marvel select JUGGERNAUT blows away legends
Yeah, it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.
