    Thanks for mentioning Sevin . I knew that you used something for the potatoes in the past . Joe have you ever been on a holiday where you didn't have to do anything ? I doubt it . You're the kind of guy that likes to be busy . I have no deer problems but I do have rabbit problem . They love eating my plants . I don't want to but I need to put up some kind of fencing . Never had a rabbit problem before but for some reason the last few years they are every where . Have a great July 4th . My July 1st was a blast .

    Joe how come the deer are such a pest in your area, as here in Scotland the Red Deer head for the highest tops of the mountains where the new heather they live on is abundant .
    Cheers mate for sharing and I used to have an allotment so know all about weeds and how fast they can grow while what you want to grow is slower.

    I would get those nylon deer fences for when you're gone for days at a time. It's easy to put up & take down. They come in 100 ft rolls for about $15. You can just pop plant stakes in the ground around the perimeter & wrap the fence around them. Wrap the garden when nobody will be around for days at a time to save it from deer thinking it's their own salad bar.

    Mr. Joe, cover your garden, in about 8 inches of leaves each fall, and that pretty much will eliminate your weeding chores. Your soil looks really good. It has that dark gray color. More red clay here in Kentucky.

    Sorry Joe ..I quickly glanced ..I saw wedding after a week of neglect.....hehehe
    Joe put a cheap timer and plug in old transistor radio outside.. throughout the day.. just cover the plug and socket and timer from rain water. Or a simple housing box.
    Also old shirt and pants and hang it in a hanger..like some one on the field. Unwashed ones.haircut too sprinkle at the edge of the plot.. so they smells human...
    Also make a moveable fence.like a sheep pen.
    Frames added as required..

    Hey Joe. Great video! Quick question if you have time (I did scroll through all the comments and didn't see this particular question - except for the guy telling you how to grow your garden!) i picked up some liquid sevin, not the dust and am not sure about using it. I see you tried the liquid before the dust and it didn't work well. Just trying to keep pesticides out of the garden. I've got something eating multiple types of plants leaves within the garden and want to try something on them. Have you ever tried flour or self rising flour? Just curious on any results. Thanks! Been watching the channel for years along w northern seclusion and enjoy watching all the uploads. Dan

    • @JoeandZachSurvival
      @JoeandZachSurvival  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Dan. I did use the liquid first and it was my first time ever using it. I was not happy with the results BUT..... I did nit shake it at all before using. Look at the directions and see if it needs shaking. The powdered sevin works real well but I was hoping the liquid would also because I hate the look of the white all over my plants. I have never used flour. I dislike using pesticides also but when it comes to either the bugs eating the garden or myself eating it... I will use them when needed. You are still by far getting less stuff on them than store bought veggies.
