That garden looks so good, Joe! Great idea for the deer - I have that problem too - and yeah, it's a race between the weeds and the non-weeds, and right now, my weeds are winning...
Thanks for mentioning Sevin . I knew that you used something for the potatoes in the past . Joe have you ever been on a holiday where you didn't have to do anything ? I doubt it . You're the kind of guy that likes to be busy . I have no deer problems but I do have rabbit problem . They love eating my plants . I don't want to but I need to put up some kind of fencing . Never had a rabbit problem before but for some reason the last few years they are every where . Have a great July 4th . My July 1st was a blast .
This is a holiday weekend and I am up at the farmhouse with Melissa. Tonight I worked on the chicken coop until about 9. My relaxing is doing work that I want to do, not work I have to do. Sitting down does not really help me much. I feel like I am wasting time.
We soak rags with vinegar and wrap them on a post. It really works keeping the Deer away. You do have to pour more on the rags after several days.. They can’t stand the scent.. Your Garden really looks good
Joe how come the deer are such a pest in your area, as here in Scotland the Red Deer head for the highest tops of the mountains where the new heather they live on is abundant . Cheers mate for sharing and I used to have an allotment so know all about weeds and how fast they can grow while what you want to grow is slower.
Hej! Thinking mutch on you tow theese days hope "Barry" stay "kinde "to you after all work you've done down there and that the Old Man don't rise to mutch thinking of all the people there! BarbroSweden
I've seen gardens in high end magazines that don't look this good! It's picture perfect! BTW, . . that was a mighty short nap after all that work down south! :)
Hey Joe, at hunt camp I just till and drop seeds.....I don't have the drive to grow my own garden....Holy cow that's a lot of work. Weeding is up there with the things I hate to do (Move, Paint and Caulk). Missing Sarah....Hopefully she will be able to make Opening Day.
Same, I didn’t fence my 20x40 garden this year, it’s a pain. I try to let the dogs out late at night, hoping their sent keeps the deer away. Worked so far.
I Bet you never sat down and relaxed since you been home....Your a machine Joe...Young kids should watch you and maybe it would inspire them to stop playing video games and get outside.......👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁
I would get those nylon deer fences for when you're gone for days at a time. It's easy to put up & take down. They come in 100 ft rolls for about $15. You can just pop plant stakes in the ground around the perimeter & wrap the fence around them. Wrap the garden when nobody will be around for days at a time to save it from deer thinking it's their own salad bar.
WOW You are dedicated, a very hard worker, wish you could show people in Nevada how to grow stuff in the heat. were trying, its hard dirt, almost like cement :(
Mr. Joe, cover your garden, in about 8 inches of leaves each fall, and that pretty much will eliminate your weeding chores. Your soil looks really good. It has that dark gray color. More red clay here in Kentucky.
Joe you're the man. Just wondering what model of skechers you wear. You do everything in them so they must be comfortable and give good support. Need them for summertime too hot for work boots
After you weed your garden the first time in the season, spread mulch throughout the garden and you wont have to weed it anymore for the season. Works Great !!!...Just mulch, no plastic or anything but mulch !!!
i read about that in a book on old fashion ways... i keep a small chip clip on the string so i can shut it off during the day by clipping them together!! cheers!!
Sorry Joe ..I quickly glanced ..I saw wedding after a week of neglect.....hehehe Joe put a cheap timer and plug in old transistor radio outside.. throughout the day.. just cover the plug and socket and timer from rain water. Or a simple housing box. Also old shirt and pants and hang it in a hanger..like some one on the field. Unwashed ones.haircut too sprinkle at the edge of the plot.. so they smells human... Also make a moveable fence.like a sheep pen. Frames added as required..
Hey Joe. Great video! Quick question if you have time (I did scroll through all the comments and didn't see this particular question - except for the guy telling you how to grow your garden!) i picked up some liquid sevin, not the dust and am not sure about using it. I see you tried the liquid before the dust and it didn't work well. Just trying to keep pesticides out of the garden. I've got something eating multiple types of plants leaves within the garden and want to try something on them. Have you ever tried flour or self rising flour? Just curious on any results. Thanks! Been watching the channel for years along w northern seclusion and enjoy watching all the uploads. Dan
Thanks Dan. I did use the liquid first and it was my first time ever using it. I was not happy with the results BUT..... I did nit shake it at all before using. Look at the directions and see if it needs shaking. The powdered sevin works real well but I was hoping the liquid would also because I hate the look of the white all over my plants. I have never used flour. I dislike using pesticides also but when it comes to either the bugs eating the garden or myself eating it... I will use them when needed. You are still by far getting less stuff on them than store bought veggies.
I had the same with my sweet corn first time ever in 6 years deer started eating it. Im trying that 7 dust first time this year i usually spray them but i just put some on lastnight and try but it takes alot of them containers of 7 dust to cover 150lbs of seed potatoes lol
I have been watching your channel for a few weeks now and I really enjoy them so I want to be a sub but I have a question, which channel do I subscribe to, Joe and Zach or the seclusion channel? Also where do you get your energy?

It's amazing how fast your garden grows. Didn't you just plant it like 3 weeks ago?
Same, I didn’t fence my 20x40 garden this year, it’s a pain. I try to let the dogs out late at night, hoping their sent keeps the deer away. Worked so far.
You are a beast! Usually everything you do cannot be done by three men!
I Bet you never sat down and relaxed since you been home....Your a machine Joe...Young kids should watch you and maybe it would inspire them to stop playing video games and get outside.......👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁

WOW You are dedicated, a very hard worker, wish you could show people in Nevada how to grow stuff in the heat. were trying, its hard dirt, almost like cement :(
You should check into Premier fencing. It is easy to put in and easy to move.

derek a good work

I am not sure what model, I just buy what color I like at that time. Lol., I need good arch support so I make sure they feel right.
@@JoeandZachSurvival Lol. Ok thanx for replying. Need good arch support myself
Put out bars of Irish Spring soap (original), deer, rabbits, squirrels hate the smell, just replace once the bars have disintegrated by the rain.
After you weed your garden the first time in the season, spread mulch throughout the garden and you wont have to weed it anymore for the season. Works Great !!!...Just mulch, no plastic or anything but mulch !!!
Anh ơi vườn rau nhà anh rộng lớn vậy anh trồng thêm cây măng tây đi anh
i hang two aluminum pie plates from a string about 5" apart.. the light breeze makes them rattle all night.. never had deer in my garden,,,yet :)
i read about that in a book on old fashion ways... i keep a small chip clip on the string so i can shut it off during the day by clipping them together!! cheers!!
Show us a example of Sara's art please.
Great! Thanks
Looks good
Also take some leaks around the garden... Gotta mark your territory....

It really does. I used a whole container on my row of potatoes.
Hey Joe can you make a video about colarabi?
Joe, I need a nap just from watching you work LOL. People put out coyote decoys in gardens here, seems to keep the deer away?
Maybe I should try that.
I have been watching your channel for a few weeks now and I really enjoy them so I want to be a sub but I have a question, which channel do I subscribe to, Joe and Zach or the seclusion channel? Also where do you get your energy?
I post videos on both channels, so you can subscribe to both. I very very rarely post the same video on both channels.
Sometimes I need to take a nap. Lol
Good like ❤️😊
You could try to keep the deer away electric fence
Fantastic, as per usual! But '7 Dust''? Seriously?
When you have a garden like yours you have to keep a vigil every day.
My dad said dump urine around the garden and that should help! Lol
I will pee put there when I get back. That is a good idea. Lol.
Crazy amount of 7 dust
Deer ...sprinkle cayenne pepper on leaves... i buy 2lb packages on line.
Mothball's work well too to keep the deer away
Is sevin dust better than diotomacious earth?
It is not s "environmentally friendly" But yes, its way better.
I got the name of that flea product from Doing It Cheap channel. I 2as hesitant at first because I love my fur babies but it works !
My uncle had a cannon to scare everything away , you could hear it all over town .

Que bueno sería traducirlo al español; se observa que el video es muy bueno...apenas logro entender algunos términos....! Thank you...
What did you put on the potatoes? I couldn't quite understand.
7 dust
To be more accurate... seven dust 5%.
