a very unique video out there, never excepted much to be honest when I decided to search RUclips for nice vs code themes but your video is really something. nice picks 👍 and nice video 👍👍
ciao Giorgio, if I may, here's some non-requested feedback. It would have been a bit more useful to 1) keep displaying the team on the side, while you were talking about it. Now we can just have a quick glance at it; 2) write out the name of the team on the video; 3) link the themes in the description. Other than that, thank you for the video and congrats on your English!
Grazie Alessandro ;) Yeah, I couldn't quite figure out how to display the themes in an interesting way; the side-by-side idea is great though, I'm so mad for not having thought of that! I think I did write out the name for SynthWave '84, I'm not sure why I stopped (I probably just forgot to write the rest haha). About the linking the themes, I thought of doing that, but since most people would just go to VS Code to download them, I guess I avoided the hassle. It could still help some people though... Thank you so much for the feedback! I wish more people gave me some. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I do agree that one dark pro is the best. However, Dracula should be in the top 3, in my opinion as it is one of the best. The only problem with Dracula is that it is too colorful that can be distracting. One Dark Pro on the other hand makes it super easy to find the end bracket of a function, as everything is just colored so well.
Two years ago after watching this video, I researched especially the syntax colors between One dark pro and Dracula. I used both for few days and researched especially the syntax colors. Tried to look for meaningful coloring. I almost was gonna stick with one dark pro. They both has almost similar meaningful syntax highlighting that make sense. But found one mistake in the objects syntax colors in JavaScript. And then eventually I found the Dracula perfect. And I'm still using it. By the way, a darker version of dracula is available with the same syntax colors too which i use.
I prefer Popping and Locking Black theme, along with GlassIt and VSCode Icons. Perfect for for your eyes, and with GlassIt you can set transparancy to your window. Save it as a Workspace file, and done.
Great overview. Honestly great quality video from a small RUclipsr. I found it useful/helpful. Themes are opinionated but I like that you gave scenarios and your opinion. Very helpful! It really gave me a prospective on what my pros and cons were between each one that I might not think about initially. Constructive criticism time, I can visibly see you just learned to edit videos. Because on RUclips at start, it’s either you over or under fit on editing (people who start RUclips in general do one or the other)… You are editing transitions too fast, I had to rewind a few times and make sure I pause at the exact time to see something I wanted to see… each time I wanted to see something. Regardless good overview
Versatility: I can feel the pain. Go, Python, shell, XML, JSON, YAML make not for a good combo. This also applies to Vim themes. I also stopped using One Dark Pro after the change to Go handling in VS Code a few months back.
You can find it here: vsthemes.org/uploads/posts/2020-04/1586853771_daniel-leone-v7datklzzaw-unsplash-modded.webp Or just search 'Nord Theme Wallpaper' to find others like it :)
Subscribing just for your enthusiasm and sort of a cheery disposition. Like one of the other commenter said you could display the theme alongside for better viewing experience. I just wanna ask you one question though, does the mouse still live with you?
bro I was so bored working on vs code and was thinking to get a new theme, thanks for your suggestion, I am using Tokyo night right now and loving it. I don't think I am going to be bored with this theme anytime soon.....
The only thing I hate about one dark pro is its docstrings. They have the same colour as the strings which is so distracting. Is there a way to change it?
I've recently come across *Galactic Glow* 🌌, a hidden gem in the VSCode extension world. It lets you change your coding environment's appearance to match iconic characters 🌟. It's like a Star Wars adventure for your code
My favourite is Brackets Dark (remember the good old days?), I've been using it on Atom for years. Making the jump to VS Code now and was chuffed to see the theme existed here too... Only to find out it doesn't support LESS/SCSS files on VS Code - no idea why!!? Oh well, on the hunt for a new one I guess, maybe it's time for a change.
Why are you showing themes for 2s and the rest is your face on the screen? I mean, I don't care how you look, I care how the themes look. The titles of parts are #1 #2.. Completely useless names, I don't know what do they stand for. It should've been called by theme names themselves. Rest is just fine. Focus on the important things next time.
I used to use VScode unti l realized how slow the app was, and how more productive and efficient I am with Vim. One thing i do like about VScode is how easy it is to costumize it.
Hey, next time when doing a list of visuals, make sure to show the visuals for more than 2 seconds. I mean, what else do we want to see? Are you intentionally wants to piss everybody off?
So, I just took a look at Tokyo Night. It's by far my favorite... almost. Atom Dark Pro is also my go-to theme, as the color palette is so easy on the eyes and easy to read each code segment etc. I do however, enjoy Tokyo Night besides ONE thing (as far as I can tell). Variables are a dull blue/grey color - I want them to be red as in Atom Dark Pro (and many other themes). They are used so often and so much, that I need to be able to tell them apart and make them stand out. Is it possible to adjust colors in different themes? If so, I'd love to make a few tweaks to the Tokyo Night theme for myself.
Anyone using the One Dark Pro theme and cannot use Ctrl+Click to select multiple tabs? I tried switching to other themes and the keyboard combination worked just fine, I don't know why One Dark Pro has this problem. Anyone knows how to fix this? ODP is my favorite theme and it would suck having to change theme just because of this
For me, colourful and diverse syntax and versatility are important. I can easily change the background in the settings and I already have a custom one.
Nice video! Monokai Pro really is my favorite to the point where I said screw it, this is worth the $10. Noctis is the other one I will default to, particularly if I'm in a well lit room and have a need for the light theme (Noctis Hibernus is just gorgeous)
I really can't stand light themes, (my eyes would rather self-destruct then to use one) but Noctis Hibernus is probably one of the best in terms of legibility. Nice find!
@@giodev_ I used to be the same way, until about a year ago my new Apartment is in a spot that is just much more naturally bright so I had to adjust a bit. I still prefer Monokai Pro, but I really like Noctis because the light/dark themes have the same semantic highlighting and both are gorgeous (especially Azureus for dark and Hibernus for light)
There are some syntax highlights that Monokai Pro doesn't consider which makes it a bit unappealing, the biggest issue for me is that in React it doesn't differentiate between custom and native HTML elements.
Some where good not gonna lie. You could try sonokai, everforest, rose-pine, catppuccin, nightfox, there ayu too. For lite theme, personally i think solarized is the best
Guess what, you should have tried bluloco theme, because it's simly awesome in all those features you find essential at the beginning of the video. Just sayin :P
VIBRANCY broke my VS code! I installed it, didnt like it (its too distracting) and I cant uninstall it due to corrupt file. Now not only am I stuck with vibrancy, my vs code is fucking slow too.

@@theanimegamer2048 He's got a pretty face, goes well with the list :D
we came here for themes anyway mate

a very unique video out there, never excepted much to be honest when I decided to search RUclips for nice vs code themes but your video is really something.
nice picks 👍 and nice video 👍👍

Try Attentio theme, custom made it and has awesome token colors.

for years I haven't been able to decide between gruvbox and tokyo night.
nice ranking for sure
I started programming with atom, I've stuck with the theme until I switched to gruvbox as a joke that never ended.
Why you don't mention the name of themes on the video?

Thanks a lot Sir!! Helped a lot.
Celestial is an amazing dark theme with high readability and has an apt color scheme. It is a very underrated theme actually.
Great content bro
What is the theme at 0:24 ?
It looks like Atom's Monokai theme-really clean!
Uh I use NightOwl for neovim and Dracula for vscode, which is (beautifully) at the rank of 9th and 8th :)))
After playing with a lot of different themes, my number one is Dracula. I like One dark pro dark also.
My number one is a bit of an odd-ball: Makinda Dark, with a few customisations to make it great for dev work.
The only thing I hate about one dark pro is its docstrings. They have the same colour as the strings which is so distracting. Is there a way to change it?
the intro caught me off guard so bad
A little update synthwave84 has improved since then and doesn't lag which makes it in atleast top 5
The default Dark theme in Visual Studio (not vscode) is probably one of the most perfectly designed themes ever made. Its a 10/10 for all 3 points.

whats ur font used in here, that font is so clean
Fira Code, and I agree it's really clean (wait until you see its font ligatures!)
what we need is how theme look like, not your face
if you like use this theme "night owl" not your blue one there's another black amoled (pitch black) version which have most best color palette
