I bought it and played like 20 games of it now. My first plays were quite hard and I felt frustrated but now I'm just in love with it. Fatigue and soothing are actually a really efficient way to get more cards from your deck, scouting and traveling are really important also. The deck building aspect is really important in this game, especially at a low player count and you can definitely make mistakes that will ruin the experience. But I found that it's really worth climbing this learning curve. But I still give you credit for the title, I'm definitly a tree hugger !

I got this game because I primarily play alone and I heard it was a very good solo game. I found the issues you did. Very tedious to rebuild the deck each time you move as you're trying to get somewhere. Drawing so few cards into your hand made the game play feel slow. I did enjoy the little story elements, but honestly after 4 plays I just never had the desire to pull it off the shelf. Now it's been sitting for months and I feel pretty over it. I'd much rather play something like D100 Space now that the Galaxy Builder book is out.

Great review. I was waffling in getting EBR, but the video made me stick to my initial reaction of passing and continuing to circus my LCG play on Arkham Horror and Marvel Champions.
As for the card and game quality, if I remember correctly it was on bc purpose to make the game 100% recyclable. Great sentiment, but I imagine it hurts the tactile feel of it.

We have this game and are undecided as to whether we like it or not.
Just to mention something on your component quality points... The game has been made apparently as sustainably and eco friendly as possible and that is why the game is physically made the way it is. For instance the cards don't have a plastic coating as the designers believe most people sleeve this rendering it pointless. Likewise very little glue etc has been used.
So whilst I agree with your point, the reason is as stated above. 🤟🏻
