There's nothing more cringy than a 45 year old dude "translating" graffiti for a news station. And ive been actively writing for 22 years. Its all very simple....there's two types of us. There's your "art douche bags" like "SireOne".....and then there's vandals....like Eager.
They have all the time to clean up the graffitii but cant clean up the carackheads and drug problems that are literally on the doorsteps of people homes.
Getting BAGGED is part of being a REAL graffiti writer. Here's the thing, if you are doing mega damage; wanted by the vandal squad, or a certain law enforcement team, you have to know when to strike better than a Stealth Bomber, and when to chillax and enjoy some spicy tuna rolls with a glass of Merlot in the company of some real good friends. I still go out and drop 2:45/3:00 a.m. street bombs, but I dress like a bum and I'm extremely cautious. [SOE RTW]
I tagged for years in the 80 's everywhere well known ..still to this day at age 53 I have Hella respect for anyone who gets up alot .I look for it to see who is up the most .some days I wish I could go tag again late at night and have 30-40 tags from the old school up
I hope nobody falls for that hire you to do art BS, they did this over 20 years ago in the 619, made flyers and everything, when writers showed up to do art on canvases in some warehouse they matched the artist to a name and arrested dozens of us.
