Hey Dave, I'm David! Nice stuff! Not sure if you're hip to it but Benny has a great displaced click app that's very user friendly! I was really lucky to study with Mark Kelso who got me into this topic. Our first lesson was 30bpm displaced click on the last 8th note triplet and I'd have to play one idea through the rhythmic scale! that was a brain melt lol but so worth it! Spending all those years with him with these types of displaced click drills changed my "hate-hate" relationship with the metronome! 😄 So glad to see these kinds of vids! cheers
Hey David, how's it going? For a first lesson that sounds like a roast!!!!!! No place to hide with that exercise. I know about Benny app but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Anything by Benny is going to be awesome though! I'm glad you like the video as well. 👊
Awesome video man! I think this is a very important subject because MOST drummers hate/fear the click. It's something we all have to face eventually, and this video for sure helps with getting more comfortable with the metronome. Keep the vids coming!
Great! I'd to do this years ago cos I was a methronome hater, listen to Colaiuta talking about this I started to do it and now Im a crazy of the methros "tune", I used it in subdivisions with differents sounds (congas, cymbals, toms...) and now enjoy warm up hours!! Great job! 👏👏👏
Great as usual.. extremely important metronome practice ideas here....I use these along with the Indian systems....konnakol.. etc..to lock in those subdivisions very tight....also starting metronome around 40 BMP and playing every subdivision including nontuplets is massively helpful 😁😁
What are your favourite ways to use the click?

Thank you sir! The click is an essential part of being a modern drummer and so if I can help anyone get more comfortable with it then im down!
