When I was a kid, my parents didn't have the money for the cool lightsaber toys, so I made my own using a broomstick, duck tape for the hilt, and blue scotch tape for the blade. I thought I was the baddest jedi in town. I taught myself a few simple but cool moves and every single day, I was outside fighting waves upon waves of sith and droids and anything my mind could conjure. Of course I played alone, so I had to be the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy to be able to withstand and endless enemy onslaught. And through it all, I only gave in to the Darkside once when my brother made me extremely mad. But uhh...yeah, my childhood was well spent
This reminds me of the Mustafar duel analysis by Shadiversity, where he mentions Anakin did a backside flurry (I think that is what you would call it). Shad would be a pretty good resource for lightsaber duels and choreography for the Vader series and in other projects.
A flourish is what you refer to, its exactly what it looks like, a stylish spin or brandishing of your weapon, usually a sword, to show off your hand skill with it.
Idk, Shad makes alot of stuff up and writes off a ton of stuff. He does some things well, but I don't like the way he comes to a conclusion, and rather quickly. It feels more like a video meant to entertain, than to provide any real scientific backing. Not saying it's anything more than just for fun, but his theories just feel a bit lacking... Sort of like skallagrim, they both just write stuff off constantly.
One thing that makes perfect sense about this move is that 1. It seems like it mixes the speed and mobility of Ataru with the forcefulness and precision of Djem-So 2. Canonically, Anakin was such a master of both Djem-So and Ataru that he legitimately managed to combine the two forms for a style that had no weaknesses 3. He actually taught some of his Form IV + Form V style in canon, as seen in Rebels
@@Wally-pu2hh You seem to be confused. Am not talking about a sword vs a lightsaber. Am talking practical use, whether its a light saber or a sword the practicality is the same. And in real combat you'd be dead before you finish your little twirl.

I remember the day before Kenobi episode 5 came out I watched this video and got it first try and the next day when Obi-Wan and Anakin were practicing I was so happy to see him do that move. Thanks for the tutorial I am so grateful for it!
I want to see more duels with Theory and whoever that would be so sick like he's a Jedi or Sith in a fan film or something and have an epic duel that would be dope
The prequel lightsaber battles were an absolute masterclass of choreography. ObiWan and Anakin’s final battle is easily the best of the entire Star Wars franchise.
That was awesome! I love your enthusiasm, love and dedication for the series bro. & that was dope Af. In full speed the motions of the move look so much more complex and would be terrifying if done with a real light saber lol😎
I'm glad I'm not alone when RoTS came out I adored Anakin Idk how many times I watched the ending fight and copied his moves. I still do them today and everyone just thinks I am a nerd but I can't get over the fact of how cool some of his moves look.
Awesome video thx dude! I used to do the same thing with the Darth mail fight with my double bladed light saber. I thought it was the coolest thing ever
The funny thing is it's the same motion that flexible weapons like the chainwhip use, so if you can do one you can do the other even if they look drastically different in motion. Great video btw! I love a good tutorial that breaks it down into being easy.
I feel like Star Wars Theory feels like a legit nice guy, I don't know why he just seems really friendly, I've been watching your channel for ages now and I love it all. Congratulations on such a great channel and attitude :D
Please do more of these. I had a lot of fun watching this video and learning along with it with my own lightsaber! I’d love to learn more moves from an expert like yourself!
I always loved the part on the battle of Mustafar when he does that twirl behind the back which ends up in a bind. It’s like the second cut of the battle when they are going into the interior.
Ahh .the obi Annie.also known as the Lotus. Remember ! Form is everything ! Body stance and maybe the force hand at the end, for some style. Looks good ! You Killed it ! Nice Dooku spin too !
Dude I did the same thing when the prequels came out on DVD! My brother and I would slow down each fight and mimic every scene with our lightsabers in real time!
