underrated channel
A very underrated theropod just like Ceratosaurus
Compelling, professional, fluff free.
Can't get enough of ancient creatures. Done an admirable feeding my addiction. Gonna try the Orthocones vid.😊
Wow, impressive video friend. Great insight into such an amazing dinosaur !
I'm always on the lookout for dinosaur channels. Subscribed.
This is packed with great information, I love these videos!!!
your videos are getting better
Very good content, subbed!
That was great ❤
I had to look up becuse first I was assuming you would bring up Giganotosarus to call it the biggest but then I realised I mixed the years. Torvosaurus sounds like an intresting species. Or pretty much all of them mentioned here. I still find it baffling how any predator could trive with these giant sauropods. More and more I wish I had access to an easier map to keep track on which dinosaurs lived at the same time and where. I mean some existed only 2 or 5 million years and either died out or evolved into diffrent species and to keep track on that is tricky but intresting to know how the families look. Makes me curious about cross species or odd anomelies. Imagine finding a herbivore mom taking care of a carnivore or the opposite.
Wasn’t Saurophagnax (Allosaurus?) maximus the largest carnivore of the Jurassic?
There were two types of Torvosaurus. One in the Morrison Formation the other in the Lourinha Formation. Torvosaurus gurneyi (Found in Lourinha Formation) could reach 36 feet length and is about 15 - 20 % heavier than Saurophaganax.
@@TheMesozoicFiles I'm pretty sure Saurophaganax recently received a size buff, now it is larger than Acrocanthosaurus
@@TheXAllosaurusReally? Good lord.
@@TheXAllosaurus Not that I'm aware of. It's still bigger than Torvosaurus, but every estimate I've seen places it at around 35 feet in length, which is still slightly smaller than Acrocanthosaurus. Saurophaganax is also known from VERY scrappy remains, so getting a proper image of the true animal is still very hard.
@@seanmckelvey6618 It may be shorter in length, but Saurophaganax is estimated to be 6.7 tons, heavier than Acrocanthosaurus's 5.8 tons
Saurophaganax - Am i a joke to you
Did you not watch the video ? lol

Ok hold on meat lord
Cool ➕ new sub
1) underestimating the size of the biggest adult allosaurus, which was 30-33 ft 2) ceratosaurs would not have taken on large sauropods - juveniles would have been their target if/when they resorted to that sort of prey, and their toofies would have been able to rip through the hide
cool
Maybe a little more study of the ground which you find it in will tell us where this thing hunted....less speculation...
Let's go back and watch the croc grab the wilderbeast and get some real answers for how this thing hunted
A very well presented video. However, there are a few things I’d like to give feedback on: if Torvosaurus spans 20 million years I would be very cautious in assigning them to Torvosaurus as dinosaurs and other large vertebrate fauna typically have very short temporal spans, and the only valid Allosaurus species are A. fragilis, A. jimmadseni and A. europaeus. I, however, feel A. europaeus falls within A. fragilis. Atlantosaurus is unfortunately invalid and is a synonym of Brontosaurus. Apart from these, the video is very well put together, keep it up
Could you talk about Therizinosaurs cause I don’t see a lot of people making videos of them
An animal like that, how often would it need to drink? What would it find at the watering hole? Why would it go anywhere else?
Let's look at the tail, most animals today have straight tails for balance...most swimmer's have wide at the base tails that taper down to a point! What do you see?
Nice timing since it released recently on Path of Titans. Too bad the mod features the smaller Torvo and makes Allo a lot bigger.
Same
Torvosaur, the biggest carnosaur of the allosaur species, twice the size of the allosaur. Some scientists believe that this animal was one of the allo’s enemies like the saurophaganax.
most likely they would avoid each other.
@@michaeldy3157 true, but it was something like for food, territory or dominance. Something like in lions, crocodiles, bears, sharks, tigers
Wtf are you saying??? Torvosaurus is a megalosaurus, not from the allosaurus family!
@@suricata1993 it’s basically related to the allosaur. Yes it’s part of the megalosaurinae, although it’s a close relative of Megalosaurus, Torvosaurus is seemingly more advanced, or apomorphic. Torvosaurus's larger clade, Megalosauridae, is most commonly held as a basal branch of Tetanurae, considered to be less derived than carnosaurs or coelurosaurs
@@suricata1993 it basically shares the same features with the allosaur species
Great video, but I'd prefer to stick to metric units only :)
Just so the whole world understands what's going on
Saurophaganx average length is like 36 feet which is more than torvosauraus already and saurophaganx maximum length is estimated to be 40plus feet but I do have to agree that torvosauraus was bigger because size is compared by weight ❤
Saurophaganax is 8.7 tonnes & 44 ft ( 13.3m)
Torvosaurus is 6.3 tonnes & 41 ft ( 12.3m)
@@Shimosevilbrother99 nope that's not the case bro go do some research homie

Saurophaganax is the king of Jurassic
wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong, SNAX was the biggest by far, Saurophaganax was king of the Jurassic
Jeez lil bro didn’t have to be mad about this 💀🤓
@@ultimagojira1933 facts are facts and this video is dead wrong, no estimate puts Torvo bigger than Snax.
@@clintfrederici3928 I know but at the same time did this video seriously made you this mad?
