can be DMS: DMS is typically described as having an aroma of cooked or creamed corn; however, the literature goes further with descriptors such as sauerkraut-like, black olive, canned corn, cabbage, rotten onions, and blackcurrant buds. DMS is a major contributor to the aroma other beverages and foods including many vegetables like asparagus where DMS is the “dominating character impact compound” and is generally described as having odor sensations of germ-like, mushroom-like, and nutty. 5 White wines, milk, rum, and numerous cooked vegetables are also documented for having a DMS aroma and flavor component.
I agree 100% on Tree House. They just churn out so many great or really good IPAs now. They are dialed-in and in cruise mode. I want to explore their stouts and barleywines more. They are under-rated, from my experience.
I'm wondering if the beer sat in a hot truck during shipping? Funny hearing you say Andromeda, I know you don't care for Sci-Fi/Space stuff. You got it right the second time. It's not Andro-ME-da. The O is like in Octopus.
I’m surprised you don’t pick out DMS more often drinking lagers since you seem sensitive to it. Way easier for me to find it there. It’s been in several lagers from Tree 😆. One batch of their House Lager absolutely reeked of asparagus.
Oops. Pretty sure pumpkin guts is more commonly associated with acetaldehyde, not DMS. I’m not particularly good at picking acetaldehyde out. People say it’s in Bud Light 🤷♂️ but I can’t identify it.
Bro, I went into Side Project Brewing and was super excited to get a bottle of on-site BA Barleywine. The beer is named “Continuance”. I ordered a bottle “Contenance” 😮 The bartender said “excuse me? 🤨🤨🤨 I said, “Contenance, can I get an on-site bottle”. I then happily went back to my seat with my bottle. It wasn’t until days later that I realized what a fool I must of sounded like 😂 It’s the latter pronunciation btw; An-drom-eh-da. It’s our neighboring galaxy, as pictured on the label 🍻
I used to have fun on RUclips when I didn’t know how to pronounce a word and just say “type on the comments how you say this” 😂. I missed an opportunity here 🤦🏻♂️🍻
I might be wrong but I doubt they’re relabeled Curiosities. 1. These hops weren’t available at the time, unless TH was using them as experimental - possible & 2. Most malt bills from Tree House at the time weren’t so all pale pilsner malt focused at the time. Someone who had now curiosities can correct me but the emphasis on pale malt seems more recent. Have Green and Haze gotten paler? Green in particular, or were those always this pale? I think they’ve seriously increased the variety of the hop contracts. I don’t think they even used Riwaka, at least not on the regular until very recently. Those contracts are probably just big enough that now they’ve gotta introduce some named beers to get through the hops on contract. And hopefully at least a few brewers there actually care about them and they’re not just for marketing.
You’re probably right about that. Or maybe they’re using old curiosity recipes with updated hops? Like, how many different hazy recipes can one come up with? 😂

The glass is straight fire. I own one of those. My favorite glass from treehouse
Love that glass! 🍻
Brother Love! Great clip. Nothing "par for the course" there. Brings back memories of the WWF heyday.
The good old days! 🍻

Only bummer for me about their stouts is so many of them have lactose. I hate that 😭
@@jsenigaglia lactose doesn’t belong in beer 🤮
Whoever was on that TV needs to up the SPF on their sunscreen
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Acetaldehyde has the flavor of what you’re describing ….
I hate that 😝

Damn, that’s wild. I feel like I notice off flavors/aromas in hazies more than anything. I should start paying more attention to lagers 😜

You're probably spot on with them repackaging Curiosity series beers as new brews.
Who knows, but how many different recipes could there possibly be?!
Was great on draft, bought a 4 pack and it was good but not as good as on draft. One of the better new beers from them for me
Did your cans have any off aromas?
@@jsenigaglia not that I remember but it was probably about 6 months ago and I don’t have a great nose for beer. If anything I’ll take a quick sniff

@@jsenigaglia I think a lot are the same recipe with different hops.
