Great job! I still haven't been able to watch her whole speech because of secondhand embarrassment 😬

Part of he problem she is given a lot of false information and fear mongering.

Tired, over used rhetoric. I hear lots of feelings, personal perspectives, and anecdotal nonsense unsupported by statistics or data.
      Can we just vote yet?

As I watched her response that night, I knew this was going bad from the start, and it kept getting worse. It all just felt wrong...contrived...overacted...and creepy, especially when she did that whispering thing really close to the camera. Unfortunately, her performance, she was clearly performing, obscured any point she was trying to make.

Yes - the performative nature of the speech combined with the range of topics did not mix well!

Thank you for watching!!! Totally!!, that skill set is evident but it worked against her in this setting!

Worried her kids will have less rights than she does. Her daughter already has less. Perhaps she'll thank Mom later.

She just is not authentic. The emotions she presents just don’t feel real. It’s seems like really bad high school theater.
I e watched forty years of these political opposition speeches and I think this was by far the worst.

Lots of comments have been made that this appears more like a hostage video. Leaving aside the content and trying not to be influenced by it, she talks about her kids having no future and then her smiles broadly. seems to suggest the this lack of a future is something she is keen on. In reality she presumably has been told to smile to be relatable and has been doing it automatically rather than tie it into the stuff she is saying. it has also been commented that the idea of her to give the response was to have the Republicans attract more female voters. One would have thought that a better way of doing this would be for her to appear a more powerful and self confident figure. The choice of her rabbiting on about her kids in the kitchen is more a 1950s view of women. The fact that it was so easy for SNL to ridicule it shows how artificial it was. Generally these State of the Union responses are totally unimportant and forgotten within a week. This one was so bad it will have a longer life

you're a nice man. that speech was pure cringe, wrapped in fear mongering trigger phrases, designed to cause anxiety in her audience. from the performative pitfalls to the setting of a kitchen, it came off to me as diminishing a successful woman who had been elected state senator as a poster wife for where conservatives feel women belong. when you listen to her speak on the issue in her state on the floor of the house, she a much more serious and formidable individual. I don't agree with her on most things but would have respected her message more if she didn't assume that she had to live action role play as a housewife to talk to the nation. She comes of a strong and sincere in almost every other speech I've seen, where here she chines off as anything but. I appreciate your analysis though and will continue to follow your content. I care about communication greatly and feel it is something few people hone their skill on.

Oof those big smiles are cringe but honestly I kinda understand. Delivering content from a teleprompter seems harddd especially in a time crunch without much practice 😅

Think you nailed it on this one. Think at the beginning she was not as genuine or authentic. Her extreme smile didn’t perfectly match with her delivery. Think that added to the point you were making with the rapid change in demeanors. If she was toned down a little the gap wouldn’t have been as extreme and it would have been better.

Thanks for watching - always one of the first. And absolutely! There was simply too much going on and it lacked synchrony.

Poor baby has worked her fingers to the bone. The reason the gen z will have nothing is that boomers and gen x are treating life like a monopoly game. They have to have it all. The fake crying sound of her voice is grating.
