These guys are truly one of the greatest bands of all time! Why does it seem that they are not universally recognized that way? Every song brings tears to my eyes.
If Editors were existing 30. 40 years ago. they would have been on the same star level as the legendary bands. Right now though, you have to know music in order to appreciate the stellar quality of this band.

I feel the same. They should be legendary status, they are to me. Not that they're a garage band, but they vast majority of people have never heard of them. They're probably my top 2 or 3 on my favorites list, and I'm 41 and have a lot of favorites so that's saying a lot. They are truly magical ❤

Just discovered these guys thanks to the TV show "Containment," I am a music monger!!!!!! so, how have I never heard of this incredible band before now?
It was an amazing experience being in the crowd. Still really happy with my signed LP and I've been listening to this almost non stop since it came online. I only wish they would upload Life is a Fear as a separate track, I love the live version so much .:(
Now, the band is known for superb live performances, but compared to the studio version of 'Marching Orders' the sound of the second snare drum at the end is also very different. The one in this video sounds SO much better!

Can't wait to see them this Friday in Birmingham, UK.If I had the money I'd go to the other gigs too - from what I can tell from setlist fm site thought the basic setlist is similar there are some nice variations of songs (like when Tom plays acoustic whilst rest of band has a weeee....breather! Fingers in the Factory was one...) plus Munich has moved nearer end of set!See setlist fm site :)
+John Butler No refuting there, but they're basically different, style-wise : studio version is slower, more touching, while live one is faster and more energetic. I'm not sure is one is actually "better" : they are both interesting. But now, it all depends on preferences. I for one confess i also do prefer the live one... but the studio one still sends chills down my spine, so moving it is !
Saw them in Bristol on Monday. Simply brillant. Tom played All Sparks as well as Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors in view of the fire that ripped through the next door building earlier that day.
I'm not taken by the the live interpretation of "Ocean of Night"... (one of my highlights from the album though) - but other than that... AWESOME. Great post, thanks! John.

Takes you to the plateau but not over the mountain. Also I feel you see how they have come together as BAND. Firing on all cylinders, one cohesive unit. Digging it.
This band is so different to me when Tom isn't playing an instrument and focuses on vocals, weird faces, caterwauling, and generally being amazeballs. Hope they stick to this a lot more during live shows.
Amazing band, but I don't get why lead guitar is so quiet, on almost all of their live shows I saw on yt... Maybe cause it's over camera, not sure... Anyway, hope to see them on Sziget 2016... :)
