Hey Matt - I’ve watched countless RUclipsrs who produce and share tips, but I gotta say, man, you’re something special. I have learned so much from your videos and after each one, I get so freakin’ stoked to go to my keys/daw and test out the new knowledge. I have been sharing your videos with all my friends - and like many of the others have said in the comments: you’re gonna go far. I am so damn certain of that 😁 Thank you for putting together this awesome channel/content and I’m looking forward to the next video. Much love & respect ✌️
This is so cool, Matt. I was wondering: I have an Akai MiniMk2 keyboard - it's quite tiny with only 2 Octaves. I don't really have the room (or the budget) to get a regular-scale keyboard. Any tips or tricks for still using synths in my production with this little device? Or how to circumvent its obvious drawbacks? Thanks, cheers.
Appreciate that thank you! 🙌🏼 I often find that limitations can breed creativity. So, 2 octaves sounds great and definitely enough to play chords or improvise with. One of my first videos on RUclips was a solo transcription on a small Korg MicroKEY 😅 for synths I’d explore some plugins and controlling them with your Akai MiniMK2!
Great question! I’d suggest slowing things down and working out fingering that works best for you, practicing it and slowly bring up the tempo. Remember to keep your wrists as relaxed as possible 🙌🏼
Ha, just my brain 😅 I’m thinking about two key centres: Ab and F#. So, the C# relates to the F# as the V and Eb related to Ab also at the V. In this instance the relations are at least enharmonically correct 🙌🏼 hope that helps
Love it bro!

Wow,this is dope! Really like your stuff! huge thanks for sharing your knowledge in such an accessible way. Big up!
My issue right now is fingering those bebop licks. Always getting stuck mid-line, any tips for that?

Awesome! How long have you been playing keys for? Your level of playing looks unachievable to me personally
can someone explain why its Ab - C# - F# - Eb and not G# - C# - F# - D#?
feels like there is something that I'm missing

Also, shoutout to @RickyTinez for sending me to this channel. You guys should do a collab together. :]
