Dude, you're killing it. Loving the content a lot. As a newer player (started in Musashi), YT has a huge void for newer players trying to get into the game and knowing the mechanics. All, if not all the guides out there are outdated, and there's a huge knowledge gap from old school day 1 players.
I see. Thanks for telling me this. In that case I should probably be making more guides then. If there's a guide you'd like me to make, please let me know
@@oldgamesinvestigator7852 oh man, I got TONS of suggestions. I'll try and recollect my new player journey. I'm still on that journey, struggling on hard arbiter in OpSi, because I've neglected it (don't love the game mode, other priorities). This leads to my point.. 1. Ship priority to push content, and by extension, fleet composition. You need X fleet to push worlds, you need dramatically different fleet/ships to do W12 vs. W13, then 14. You need different ships to do OpSi. 2. Everything in Azur Lane is time-gated: Not knowing how to maximize that time can set you back weeks, months. Here are the things you need to do PER day. Here are the things that are your long-pole goals that will need time and coin or whatever, so you need to plan for this now. Neglecting OpSi, for example, neglecting subs, not knowing which ships you want in PR research, not planning out what weapons/research. 3. Knowing how to optimize your oil spend. What should you be farming, why? I've spent a ton of time in 12-4 because coin is important and is a limiting resource over OpSi, is it worth it? Same could be said about war archives, is it ever worth it? You can have months of content if you focused on educating for newer players on those areas. The game is 4 years old, there's SO much knowledge out there that older AL players take for granted but is completely NOT known for newer players. So much has changed that older guides are no longer valid and there's not much out there that fills that void. Look at it this way, when I was looking last year, everything was outdated and I had to go to discord to ask in gameplay help. Watching videos is so much easier. I'm also in a guild where I had a lot of old vets help me, but that's a luxury that I don't think newer folks are exposed to. This game is a time-gated game that takes a lot of forward planning to do well in later content. Having guides that optimize on both time and resources (coin, oil, cog chips..etc) is what newer players need to know.
The exploration goals are easier to complete if you don't buy data-logger. And some are impossible if you buy the data-logger. This is because some exploration progress missions require events that can only happen in "unexplored zones" which occur one time per Operation Siren reset. By buying the data-logger, you lose the opportunity to explore "unexplored zones." It makes sense, by buying the data-logger and skipping exploration of the map, you also opt-out of getting exploration progress rewards. I got this info from a different channel, don't remember which one.
Some other notes about the shop, not sure if covered or I missed it. The shop has a fixed inventory. A tactic is to buy as much individual items from the shop as possible, so when the shop resets, you cycle it to display what's left... which may be the Gold Plates, Gold Mats, UR Mats, Upgrade Mats, etc. Those materials are VERY difficult to acquire.. the main bottle neck in upgrading gear to +13 or building UR equipment. You'll know you've depleted the shop's inventory when you hit a reset and some of the shops are only half full lol.
Very comprehensive guide, easy to follow, smooth as butter commentary, and a great attitude. Keep up the great content man, AL community will appreciate it for sure.
some helpful tips: -do not kill the boss in siren stronghold before fully auto search..the moment you go out to repair it will reset -if you encounter radar tower(theres two type) either leave or smash and intercept(save your esd and token) -do not trigger siren alarm so you can farm more currencies -let siren beacon spawn more enemies until energy is depleted to farm exp -if encounter akashi buy everything except repair box and tuning -for 20 days farm 5ap map below ny city to farm gold ap box(lots of akashis) and tuning from weather anomaly(aim for 203/203/156), unlock all maps including abyss boss and hidden maps 20th days onwards..~3days enough divide your remaining gold ap box with remaining days before reset to utilize time efficiently -buy at least 5 items from port within 3days reset to buyout item from the shop -on last day clear out the remaining free to enter map that got left out -do not be lazy farm 5ap map..got me to 600+ tuning from farming it
Thanks for the guide. I remember that this mode was one of the reasons I quit AL because I just didn't get it (plus I burned out). Now that I'm back, this guide came out and it makes more sense.
This helped so much! I've been slowly picking at OS for months since I focused ch 1-14 and events. hated doing the ch 1-5 story/tutorial but I recently cleared and can finally grind but forgot everything they told me throughout the guide lol
The rewards you get from doing meowficier dives scales with meowficier level. So higher level the meowficier, better the chances for better rewards. The adaptive tuning stats, have a number where they reach max effectiveness, going above that number doesn't gain much if anything extra. I don't remember the exact figures, but I think its like 244/244/188 or something. Also, Siren Strong holds can hold a max of 3 on the map, and you get a new one every Monday I think. So if you have 3 strong holds, and you don't clear at least one... come Monday you'll still have 3 and not get the 4th spawn.
Love this video OG, but I’d really like more in depth fleet compositions. What healers are standing up your fleets? As a new player outside of Shouhou and Unicorn, is there farmable healers to target ?
Arizona is a solid healer. I would say that Unicorn is probably the best farmable one by far. If you can get HMS Vampire she has a skill with her augment gear that will heal. These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Btw, are promoted pawns, siren data logging towers, resource nodes also part of the rng for each combat level? (along with the mysterious merchants and record file thing you mentioned)
Nice. I haven't been buying the right thing in the shops unfortunately. Also I've neglected the submarines. Royal Fortune is my highest level sub, any thoughts?
Right now the best subs are Iron Blood Wolfpack subs. The SSR Iron Blood line up outmatches most other sub fleets. Royal Fortune is a great sub by the way and very consistent. There's nothing wrong with keeping her. Otherwise I would recommend picking out your best 3 Iron Blood subs with the Wolfpack skill and leveling those up.
what about meta ship? if i have a squad with those similar atk will it works? i meant like they get any boost in atk and def? and maybe more survivalbitliy?
Record file is rng? I thought you have to follow/clear a specific map for each file. Iirc there is a guide on what map you need to clear first..or am I remembering it wrong🧐🤔 Tbf if it's consistent then we might have nothing to do in the future (in a sense it's a stall tactics of the game)
@@oldgamesinvestigator7852 You need to have the meta ship that needs skill xp in OpSci. Enter a map coordinate hidden zone aka the gold chest maps. Move one fleet on top of the "red box" mini-boss squares. Don't kill it, just move a fleet there and back out. Leave this fleet engaged with the mini-boss. Switch to the fleet with the meta ship that needs skill xp. Put the meta-ship fleet on auto-search. As the last mini-boss fleet can't be attacked this fleet will kill EVERYTHING else on the map, other Mini-bosses, red fleets, and blue fleets. The blue fleets won't give ship level xp, but they do give meta-ship skill xp. The blue fleets keep respawning as you move around the map as long as one mini-boss is alive. If you run out of blue fleets and auto-search ends, move around the map some more to make more ships spawn or just switch to a new hidden zone map. The downside is this is time-consuming and you don't get any reward for killing blue ships Aside from the meta ship skill xp.
Hold up, you mean Operation Siren Data Log allows even a fresh HQ level 60 nub to unlock the 4 entire towns? Any other good tips for fresh HQ level 60 SKKs? xD
While a nice Guide overall with lots of usefull overall stuff, it is another "Beginner" Guide, that assumes that you can clear all content and only need to knoe how to "optimize".... Most "Beginners" do NOT have a stacked ship Roster with lots of 125 ships and maxed out PRs. I'm running my first month (started shortly before the last reset) of OpSi and I could use tips on how to do Corrosion 5/6 with lvl 110-115 ships. Not "Beginner" "Well with +13 Gun X on max Fated PR4 ship Y" you can save lots of Bese Currency to get bonuses next Month" types of tips. Granted that might sound harsh, since you said to bring healers, but a beginner might like to know more about realistic "Beginner Fleet Composition" to make it through, then about how to do it as optimally as possible.
