1. Emulsifiers
2. Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)
3. polysorbate 80 (PS80)
4. Maltrodextrin
5. Carrageenan
Amazing video! I love creators who speak up about the epidemic of unhealthy processed foods because if people were aware, they wouldn't rush to save some cents on, as you write, dangerous products. Love it, and subscribed!
The solution to food additives is growing one's own food. Do it, you WILL be glad you did!
@@destinedtobedifferent9921 I will give it a try
Just so everyone knows, the first 4 ingredients are NOT on Whole Foods' 250+ ingredients that they don't allow... so even places like Whole Foods has these additives in their products.
Thanks for sharing.
What? You said its NOT on whole foods, but then your conclusion is they have this in their products??
@@majrminer got you. Thank you so much. Yes I saw a health store also that sells synthetic vit A and e combined in cod liver oil. We have to be carefull. Thanks again. Im planning on buying ashwaganda and thianine. Ash for whatever its worth has a lot of caveats to consider my mind is hurting already.
That Whole Foods' list is not a health compass at all, it's basically pure marketing. See how they "banned" a medicinal plant used for thousands of years like ginkgo biloba, but did not ban titanium dioxide
Whole Foods isn't the Whole Foods it was founded to be. Once Amazon bought them they were just another Walmart
Another RUclipsr says that Malto Dextrin has a higher glucose index than table sugar. And since its not sugar it's glucose and blood sugar raising ability does not have to be reported. Its in a lot of things and sure enough it was in my favorite. Jalapeno Kettle cooked Chips.
The wife had a mini stroke Nov 28 , 2023 and luckily survived without losing motor skills but her vision and memory are off a little.
Since then we've completely changed how we eat. Once you lose your health its not so easy to get it back.
Thanks Dr. Ann. I eat many of these foods (particularly cottage cheese) and I had no idea about emulsifiers!
Me too!
Well, it’s may 2023 right now. I decided to decrease as many processed foods in my diet as possible.
As an Indian living in 40*C + heat most of the yr, ice cream is a favourite of mine. This I set on this journey to make ice cream from scratch because I was tired of eating icecream that made me feel horribly lethargic, make my brain numb and had 100diff ingredients and chemicals.
Truth be told, it is a deep deep well. Making ice cream from whipped cream is not as easy without a machine, because no matter what I do, I can’t make my own whipped cream(speaking from a failed attempt today) and can’t buy any fresh whipped cream around me, the only one available is the non dairy one filled with hydrogenated fat and. All these emulsifiers… and sometimes there’s the packages dairy whipped cream that again has the emulsifiers, not to mention the fact that it’s rarely available and expensive a bit.
Hence I’m right now torn between buying these emulsifiers myself and make icecream out of milk, or buy the packaged dairy whipping cream and consume them that way. Or just quit icecream and only have some yoghurt….
This indeed is the end of times, when gender is not the only thing that’s changing but also our food. No wonder we’re all so messed up in our heads, this is the hocus pocus we’ve been eating.
And WHAT DO YOU KNOW. I searched RUclips so much and could only find people RECOMMENDING THESE CHEMICALS….. this RUclips channel called Alchemy of Kitchen had a full video on how this stuff improves baked good without even mentioning the harms… and so we’re all the Indian icecream channels I saw….insane….
My brother and I have consumed this drink called Bournvita since childhood and this stuff was advertised as healthy…. Well, no one I’m struggling with my weight now and even my brother. I feel so tired doing the simplest things,…. Only Allah can save us 🤲🏻
Only Jesus Christ can save us

The Yuka app has helped me scan a lot of foods and find out these dangerous additives
I just started using that app about a few days ago. I hope it's really accurate. Some of the products that are supposed to be good for you got a poor grade according to the Yuka app. Some of the Healthy Choice frozen dinners got a poor grade. There were some others as well like some of the Weight Watchers that also got a poor grade. Some cereals also. Just because it says it's good for you doesn't mean it is if the App is correct.
Thank you
I use EWG app sometimes too. There is a guy named Bobby, who talks about healthy foods as well. He is very informative. Hopefully we can get this crappy stuff off of the shelves!
@@bobbyadkins6983 right. The app exposes what the ingredients are on the label or you can read them. Then you can click the additives and see what the side effects are of certain ones. I have found that the app really does show how even some vegan options aren’t as “healthy” as we think because of the additives & preservatives.
@@fanceeist you’re welcome😊
I have digestive system dystopia. I believe I have SIBO. I don’t eat processed foods with these or the other top offender preservatives. I don’t eat grain products with gluten, and I eat relatively low amount of GF starches. Having said this, I still have symptoms of leaky gut, definitely SIBO, and occasionally the worst intestinal pain imaginable that lasts for hours. I seem to have a degenerating digestive system, and I can’t blame it on preservatives, which is the reason I wrote this comment.
The roundup that's in all our food, (including beef) will eat holes in stomach lining and the entire digestive tract. It takes about 13 - 14 years for a human to accumulate the amount of roundup that a cow consumes in one day. It's in the grass.🐄
Polysorbate 20 caused my daughter to need a pancreas transplant...
thanks for the video. What about methylcellulose?
Thank you so very much. Peace and light to you and your family
Thank you. A great presentation and delighted to subscribe.
How about tricalcium phosphate??
Tetrasodium & disodium phosphate...
I ate Jell-O pistachio pudding with these sodiums & moments later, my heart tached, beating hard, is that from those ingredients, only thing I had was coffee ~
Thx, New subscriber, 🐾💜🐾🙋🏽♀️🪶
This should have at MINIMUM 1,000x the views it currently has. Just goes to show you, big food advertising dollars ensures shadow banning is prevalent so no one realizes they aren’t shown this content.
I agree. Thanks for the feedback!
Great Info. Dr. Ann Kulze! Proud of You!
Thank you, Dr. Ann!
So, why is polysorbate 80 in my jar of pickles?
Thats so bad yuck
Sirence!🚨😆
It is in so much, it's insane. Maltodexrin as well. Smh
No wonder I get sick often when I used to eat these foods all the time
I started using the Yuka app. I hope it's pretty accurate.
Cutting back on processed foods is always a good idea. I use polysorbates the disperse pigments in water/glycol mixtures. Although they are low hazard chemicals they should not be eaten
Could you cite these studies in the video description area?
Wow, this was extremely interesting. I was actually looking for information on using CMC, guess I'm not using it anymore lol. Thank you for this information.
What about sorbitan monostearate in bakers yeast
Thanks for sharing this 🌿✌️
I've been chewing xylitol gum and now found it's terrible for me, containing 4 different bad ingredients.
Is Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose the same thing as Carboxymethyl cellulose? Or does it also damage the microbiome?
I'd like to know too.
Thanks Doc I have allergic reaction to these processed food that’s why I ended up here. ❤
Is gellan gum the same as Carragean?
Some susceptible individuals might experience withdrawal symptoms from additives and chemicals in food from going on a whole foods unprocessed clean diet it can take 2-6 weeks and it can be quite brutal so taper down if it gets unbearable
What about Sodium Aluminum Sulphate?
Thank you.
Many blessings.
Thank you for the information ℹ️
I’m wondering about the methylcellulose that is used in vegan food.
Is that one bad too?
I am not aware of adverse effects at this juncture. thx!
@@DrAnn At this juncture? Ya doin' Bush 41? I asked the same question very recently so disregard. Thank you.
Vegan diet is unhealthy. I've treated more sick vegans than you could imagine.
@@DrAnn
What about Carrageenan in Flouride free toothpaste
Veganism is a Cult orchestrated by 7th Day Adventists in cahoots with WHO
I would love to know the fact findings behind all the claim Dr Ann.
How about gellan gum?
There's polysorbate 80 in some medications. How is this legal?
Some of things you mentioned were stabilizers not emulsifiers. Equally harmful though
What about vitamins that have stearic acid, maltodextrin.. etc…
What about toothpaste with Carrageenan
I make my own kefir probiotic which helps to keep my gut healthy
Is carboxmethylcellulose the same as methylcellulose?
no, methylcellulose is essentially just soluble fiber, It would more likely have a benefit on the microbiome than anything.
What are your thoughts on Methyl cellulose? I'm using that now in my quest to make a better veggie burger. Thank you.
I know Microcrystalline Cellulose is made of woodchips & is bad. Can cause gastric upsets & stomach ache
@@akakonoha Wood chips!?? Dang, that's got the makin's for the bathroom scene from Dumb and Dumber.
@@mattcero1 🤷🏽
@@akakonoha most vitamins have that.
@@sbubb9155 a lot do yes...
Hey, do you know if anticaking agents are safe ?
Soy Lecithin is also bad, is it not?
How about disodium hydrogen phosphate?
Hi there, How does everyone feel about Potassium Sorbate?
Thank you mam.
Most welcome 😊
Are there pasteurized/emulsified dairy milks that don't contain these emulsifiers? We are not a non-dairy family and I still would like to give my kids some dairy if possible. One of my children has struggled with encopresis since early childhood and we are starting to look at dietary changes but want to take a truly scientific approach and not just every fad that's out there these days.
I have not scanned ingredients list of cows milk to know. I feel certain there will be ones available without these specific emulsifiers. Thx
I use dry milk carnation. It just have dry milk as ingredient and the flavor is decent
Don't do dairy they are good for no one and #animals, still get #tourtured slowly and #killed for it all?
Raw chesse have natamycin but its made naturally from fermentation process. Actually natamycin is good anti-fungal ingredient like candida
I saw tetrasodium pyrophospate is in marshmallows and ice cream 🍨.
What about sodium aluminosilicate, is there many negative effects?
Don’t consume any foods with chemicals like this with names you don’t know. i am not aware that that one is an emulsifier however. if it isn’t in you kitchen don’t eat it!
Your kitchen looks nice
What about silicone dioxide? Is that safe in the long run when consuming?
There are some seasonings sold in the store that have it
Stay the hell away from them. I had gastritis really bad from using them
Great info!
Just avoid processed food. Cook your own foods don't be lazy
It's in milk, cream, ice cream, cream cheese, bread... it's not about laziness... it's a crime to humanity
Facts
@@dfam342 It's not dairy milk.
@@mikieemiike3979 ? do you mean it's not in dairy milk?
@@dfam342 Yes. That's what I meant. Thanks.
Methycellulose ? I’m assuming this counts
I've seen emulsifiers in heavy whipping cream... this shouldn't be considered a processed food😭
I buy it there are a few brands that don't have it but you have to really look. Kalona is one near me.
Do Mayonnaise contain emulsifier?? .... And it is harmful???
Most have, but it is pretty easy to make at home without those additives, n tastes even better. But if you are worried about your health just don't eat it, mayonnaise is not healthy anyway since it's basically oil emulsified with eggs (mostly oil).
@@Marcusrafaelfet thanks a lot... well I'll not buy it and also don't wanna make it. 💜
@@riyashil3408 On many sandwiches, just plain ol' oil and vinegar works wonders.
Plysorbate 80 emulsifies DHT in the shampoos prevents male pattern boldness, but in food am not sure how it works .
I use it for long time in a shampoo.
Nothing is safe
Is that the same methylcellulose they put in vegetarian meat substitutes ?
I'm pretty sure those are different substances, but both are emulsifiers.
I have the same question 🙋🏽♀️
What’s silicone dioxide?
anti-caking agent. totally safe and even naturally occurring in many plant foods.
Just when you thought you were buying a nice healthy rotisserie chicken from the grocery store... 😭
Oh man you have a lot to learn about American chicken and how they’re grown. Compared to beef, it’s more then half less of nutrition, they’re grown 56 times faster than regular chickens.
@YoWspIsaac I saw they give them a nice bleach bath before packaging too 🤢
@@OoMASEoO Yup, if you got a decent size backyard I’d invest in your own chicken coops. This is something I’m going to be looking forward to as time goes by, actually looking forward to eating chicken again. Our health really stems down to what we choose to buy from our stores!
Playback speed 1.5x. Thank me later. ❤
Great info - thank you! So, if your diet has included these additives and then they are removed, will the gut recover with time?
Yes- It should. We know the microbiome is highly responsive to the right diet changes.
@@DrAnn thanks 👍
Yeah this has to be why my stomach is wrecked today! The powdered cellulose in my vegan latin hot pocket. Thank you
Sheesh.. When did doctors get so hot?..
Very much appreciate this salient, cogent info with regards to damaging food additives!! With the proliferation of gluten free items and alternatives for keto etc., can you or anyone out there tell me if xanthan gum is a form of carboxymethylcellulise??? I am not having any success researching this. Appreciate any/all help???
my understanding is that they are distinct.
Bleach in our foods with aluminum forms lews acid aluminum tri chloride. Eats our guts up. X2 acidic of stomach! Tri sodium phosphate paint thiner in my childrens breakfast cereal and most meat. Benzene and kerosene! We got stop them and detox and antidote. Peace
Can you link studies rather than just say a number of studies.
Go to pubmed and put emulsifiers and gut microbiome in search box. Scores will pop up.
You don't need studies. Eat these processed foods and see what happens.
maltodextrin is not an emulsifier. It may be used to thicken some foods, but it does not emulsify, and It should not have a notable effect on the microbiome so it doesn't really belong in this video. also it is misspelled as "maltrodextrin"
edit: there actually is some evidence that maltodextrin (although not an emulsifier) might have pro-inflammatory effects on the gut. my bad.
CMC is wallpaper paste!
It's processed from pine trees ...
Raw vegan is the safest way forward I think.
I had a HORRIBLE hives reaction that sent me to the ER a few months ago. My face and throat were broken out and my eyelids were almost swelled shut. The receptionist uttered a wide-eyed "omg" when she saw me, and immediately brought me back. The hives were rapidly spreading even though I had taken 100mg of Benadryl (The doctor was surprised that I was still awake after that high a dose).
They ultimately gave me a diprospan shot in the "gluteus maximus" and put me on prednisone to help clear it up.
I knew it was not poison ivy, and I could not immediately think of anything unusual that I had not eaten dozens of times before. THEN, I remembered that I had recently eaten some Kroger brand steak sauce, because it was cheaper than the "brand name" A1 steak sauce. I read the ingredients, and sure enough, it contained an emulsifier called CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE. It is NASTY STUFF, and it very well could have killed me.
Kroger store brand has the cheapest ingredients!! Their name brand salad dressing is awful too, I'm not surprised the steak sauce is just as bad. The dressing had high fructose corn syrup at the top of the list , and inflammatory seed oils
Is anti cooking agent bad?
