Thanks Dr. Ann. I eat many of these foods (particularly cottage cheese) and I had no idea about emulsifiers!

  • @Snowlily01
    @Snowlily01 Год назад +7

Well, it’s may 2023 right now. I decided to decrease as many processed foods in my diet as possible.
As an Indian living in 40*C + heat most of the yr, ice cream is a favourite of mine. This I set on this journey to make ice cream from scratch because I was tired of eating icecream that made me feel horribly lethargic, make my brain numb and had 100diff ingredients and chemicals.
Truth be told, it is a deep deep well. Making ice cream from whipped cream is not as easy without a machine, because no matter what I do, I can’t make my own whipped cream(speaking from a failed attempt today) and can’t buy any fresh whipped cream around me, the only one available is the non dairy one filled with hydrogenated fat and. All these emulsifiers… and sometimes there’s the packages dairy whipped cream that again has the emulsifiers, not to mention the fact that it’s rarely available and expensive a bit.
Hence I’m right now torn between buying these emulsifiers myself and make icecream out of milk, or buy the packaged dairy whipping cream and consume them that way. Or just quit icecream and only have some yoghurt….
This indeed is the end of times, when gender is not the only thing that’s changing but also our food. No wonder we’re all so messed up in our heads, this is the hocus pocus we’ve been eating.
And WHAT DO YOU KNOW. I searched RUclips so much and could only find people RECOMMENDING THESE CHEMICALS….. this RUclips channel called Alchemy of Kitchen had a full video on how this stuff improves baked good without even mentioning the harms… and so we’re all the Indian icecream channels I saw….insane….
My brother and I have consumed this drink called Bournvita since childhood and this stuff was advertised as healthy…. Well, no one I’m struggling with my weight now and even my brother. I feel so tired doing the simplest things,…. Only Allah can save us 🤲🏻

I just started using that app about a few days ago. I hope it's really accurate. Some of the products that are supposed to be good for you got a poor grade according to the Yuka app. Some of the Healthy Choice frozen dinners got a poor grade. There were some others as well like some of the Weight Watchers that also got a poor grade. Some cereals also. Just because it says it's good for you doesn't mean it is if the App is correct.

I have digestive system dystopia. I believe I have SIBO. I don’t eat processed foods with these or the other top offender preservatives. I don’t eat grain products with gluten, and I eat relatively low amount of GF starches. Having said this, I still have symptoms of leaky gut, definitely SIBO, and occasionally the worst intestinal pain imaginable that lasts for hours. I seem to have a degenerating digestive system, and I can’t blame it on preservatives, which is the reason I wrote this comment.

Can you link studies rather than just say a number of studies.

Go to pubmed and put emulsifiers and gut microbiome in search box. Scores will pop up.

You don't need studies. Eat these processed foods and see what happens.

maltodextrin is not an emulsifier. It may be used to thicken some foods, but it does not emulsify, and It should not have a notable effect on the microbiome so it doesn't really belong in this video. also it is misspelled as "maltrodextrin"
edit: there actually is some evidence that maltodextrin (although not an emulsifier) might have pro-inflammatory effects on the gut. my bad.

I had a HORRIBLE hives reaction that sent me to the ER a few months ago. My face and throat were broken out and my eyelids were almost swelled shut. The receptionist uttered a wide-eyed "omg" when she saw me, and immediately brought me back. The hives were rapidly spreading even though I had taken 100mg of Benadryl (The doctor was surprised that I was still awake after that high a dose).
They ultimately gave me a diprospan shot in the "gluteus maximus" and put me on prednisone to help clear it up.
I knew it was not poison ivy, and I could not immediately think of anything unusual that I had not eaten dozens of times before. THEN, I remembered that I had recently eaten some Kroger brand steak sauce, because it was cheaper than the "brand name" A1 steak sauce. I read the ingredients, and sure enough, it contained an emulsifier called CARBOXYMETHYLCELLULOSE. It is NASTY STUFF, and it very well could have killed me.

Kroger store brand has the cheapest ingredients!! Their name brand salad dressing is awful too, I'm not surprised the steak sauce is just as bad. The dressing had high fructose corn syrup at the top of the list , and inflammatory seed oils
