    Love Mam bottles. Easy to clean and dont believe that wind/ reflux is solved by bottles. Mainly need to feed baby upright, wind during the feed and for 20mins after. Infacol was the main help .

      I agree! Anti-colic bottles can help relieve colic symptoms but from my experience won't stop it completely. While using our preferred bottle we still used lots of other anti-colic products such as comfort milk, infacol, gripe water (our favourite!) and dentinox.

    Used MAM for 6 years now.. they're definitely anti colic, never ever had my formula bubble in these bottles and I have used both regular formula and specialty formula.

  • @chrislewispam

    When your baby has a break, they aren't actually blowing bubbles back up the stem. It's actually air being drawn back into the bottle to solve the pressure differential. The Dr Brown stem is there to allow the bottle to equalise without churning/bubbling up the milk.
    You can observe this as an adult, if you put your mouth over a plastic bottle of water and drink it all, you will see the bottle crumple because it's at a lower pressure compared to the outside
    I found that the tippee advanced anti-colic bottles had a vent that was too hard. I cut another slit at right angles to the factory one which softened the valve a lot, but increased the milk flow. The return-bubbles didn't completely stop or reach the dr. brown level, but they reduced quite a bit. Try out my modification to see if you can "fix" the tippee AAC bottles!

    I love the mam bottles both work well but they are so much easier to clean with less brush tools. I don't have a dish washer so I would have to brush clean the drbrown tubes.
    And I love that the mam bottles are self sterilizing

    I used tommee tippee for my first and she didn’t get on with them at all. I also used the dr browns and she got on with those perfectly.
    My issue was the perfect prep machine I was using. The second I stopped using that and started using boiled kettle water? Everything changed. She started easing with spitting up

    I'm surprised by your review, but every baby is different. I swear by mam bottles, I have a really colicky baby that would cry 3-6 hours straight and we tried Dr brown's but she would not latch good, milk would spill everywhere. We switched to mam bottles and by the next day her crying was to a minimum. We now have a happy baby who only cries when ready to eat.

      I will try to make this comment short. I am really satisfied with the MAM bottles so far. My 1 month old has responded really well to these bottles. I have been using them for almost a week no me and can tell a huge difference. I bought them online with my groceries to be delivered and the shopper accidentally gave me the nipple which is the #2 for 2+ months. I was pretty upset because of the fact I was so looking forward to giving my gassy little man some relief. I was using gas drops and gripe water for him. I was desperate. I also was burping him after every ounce he would drink that led to him being very mad at me for taking the bottle away to burp him. After doing that after every ounce all it did was make him frustrated eventually leading to him crying and then falling asleep. He would squirm during the feeding and he appeared to just be downright uncomfortable. It was awful! So anyways, I decided to just try and feed him using the MAM bottle and nipple even though it was #2. He did really well! He finished a lot more of the bottle than he was with the other bottles I was using. He also seemed satisfied and sleepy afterwards. Now he goes back down to sleep easier and hardly any spitting up at all. He is sleeping sounder and a little longer compared to before changing to the anti-colic bottle. No spitting up the entire bottle or choking. No squirming or the high pitched squeal while feeding. So I am just overall so relieved and happy. This is the first anti-colic bottle I have ever used like this. My last child was born over 7 years ago and I used the NUBY bottles. I don’t think they were anti-colic because I didn’t really have any issues with him during feedings. I haven’t tried any other bottles other than just the basic ones I started with. Sorry that this comment is so long. I just really love the fact that they actually work like they have been advertised tfdd.!’I just want to say thank you so much to those took the time to read my comment. Also, Congratulations to all the new Mommies & Daddies out there who are exhausted. Your doing amazing! Keep your head up and make sure you realize these days will fly but so enjoy every second. God Bless you all!

      The only time by Dr Browns bottles have leaked is if the milk is too hot due to the pressure caused in the bottle. Prep machine is a life saver making it the perfect temperature and no leaks.
      Also make sure your bottles are upright in your bags when on the go otherwise it will leak into the lid from the teat into the lid.

    I dont understand how this dr. Brown bottle works.
    You say that the tube inside the bottle (its tip/top) needs to be above the milk while feeding the baby.
    If you making a full bootle, or nearly full.....lets say 210ml dosage and you have an 250ml bottle, and feeding your baby in horizontal or skewd position..... this cannot happen. The tip of the tube will be sunk in the beegining
    Only if your bottle is facing up, 90 degrees from the ground, then the tip of the tube can be above the milk.
    Im interested in your obesrvations

    • @shampoop118
      @shampoop118 2 года назад

      Speaking from experience with the Dr. Brown's bottle, when the bottle is tilted, quite a lot of milk goes into the nipple/teat area, so there is definitely a gap at the bottom where the tube ends.

    How do you get the Dr. brown’s not to leak?

    • @littlevickery264
      @littlevickery264  4 года назад +2

      when do they leak for you? The only time I had bottles that leaked is when I was using boiling hot water rather than the prep machine perfect temperature water, I read online that when liquid is too warm when the bottle is closed will increase the air pressure inside the bottle and cause leaks as its trying to relieve the pressure inside the bottle. That explains why one of my bottles pretty much exploded once! So if your using boiling hot water too I would suggest letting the water cool right down before making up a bottle or leaving the top of the bottle off for it too cool down. Otherwise I have had no problems with leaking bottles. Hope this helps x

    • @littlevickery264

      Hi Taylor!
      I know! With so many amazing reviews on the MAM anti-colic bottle I was so shocked to see him blowing so many bubbles back into the bottle which he would eventually swallow.
      I very quickly decided to go back to Dr. Browns and although my little boy is still a windy baby (we do give him gripe water to help when needed) I am the happiest with the Dr. Browns. The venting system stops any bubbles being blown back into the bottle and I also think any bubbles created when making the bottle are popped when going through the green 'wheel' part. But I am much more conscious when making the bottles to swirl rather than shake!
      I wish you all the best and hope the Dr.Browns helps your baby. Stick at them for a week a so to see if there is any improvement. Check your teat size as well making sure it's not too slow where they can take more air in or not too fast that its spilling out of their mouth and filling them up to quickly. My boy had bad reflux when a newborn and we had to change to a much slower teat as he was drinking too fast and bringing it all up again, we had to control how much he was having by doing little and often then slowly increasing his intake.
      Lastly, it may be a change in formula to anti-reflux if you are formula feeding (you can slowly introduce this rather than completely switching). Lastly, Gaviscon Infant sachets are made for reflux which you may want to get off your GP if no improvement.
      All the best xxx

      @@littlevickery264 Hey, we bought the dr brown's and used throw away nuk bottles while we waited for them to arrive. We found both the nuk and dr brown's were the same, but stayed with the dr browns simply because we had bought 8 of them. Would of been happy to of stayed on nuk had we bought the propper bottles.
      As for how good they are, tbh they still generate a lot of wind we've found, but her latch is better so we stayed on them as her lips aren't getting blisters any more. All these bottles claim to be anti colic and reduce wind, but I don't think any of them can really stand by those statements because honestly we still had a screaming baby, before, during and after feed. The wind definitely is less than mam bottles but still as I said, she'll get up lots of wind and even hours after we'll still get wind. Friends of mine then love the mam ones!
      I think a lot of the problems is down to the food. We were using aptimal infant for the first 11 weeks, which creates a foam party like you'd see in ibiza inside the bottle once mixed, so clearly was causing digestive and wind issues, and she was always constipated on it. We then moved to aptimal comfort, which had no bubbles but caused severe bloating, cramps, and less wind as its meant to, but she was in agony all night and very unsettled after feeds. 3 weeks ago then we switched to hipp organic, which has less bubbles than aptimal infant, but she's much calmer on the feeds now, yet gets lots of wind during and after feed but not unsettled as before. We're still not really happy with it as constipation is persisting and we have to give lactulose every two days to get movement, but for the moment we're going to stick with it as we really don't know what formula we should try next.
      All you can do is try the different bottles and see what suits best. It's an expensive test but if you find one that works more to the babies liking, then stick with that. And again as I said, the wind we found was bad no matter what bottle we used, its simply that the latch was better. But I personally would choose dr brown over mam and tommee tippee, but nuk again was pretty good.

    • @littlevickery264
      @littlevickery264  3 года назад

      @@prestigious5s23 I can only agree, it definitely doesn't come down to just a bottle! We also went onto a comfort formula (cow & gate) after experiencing that same ibiza foam party! However we still went through lots of constipation days even on the comfort formula! I have heard kendamil organic is a great formula which I want to try for my next baby.
      We did lots of baby massage to relieve wind which was helpful but the best thing was gripe water for us. They definitely grow out of it but its so hard when your baby is clearly in pain :(But I now have a happy toddler who still farts all the time haha.
