I can feel Nirvana's magic and atomosphere in this video as soon as it starts even though we all know it's not "him". Great, respectful, faithful covers.
They covered this song live today at Edgefest. I wasn't paying too much attention, but when I heard this song start I literally turned my head wondering if Nirvana had returned haha. Absolutely incredible
I loved Kurt and always will but I think a Nirvana reunion tour with Shaun being brought on would be awsome and I think it's what Kurt would want, his music to be carried on and enjoyed by the generations to come.
seether is the best band alive!!!! Who cares if this song is from Nirvana? Shaun said that nirvana inspired them... its kind a tribute for kurt. seether plays every concert 1 nirvana song... and the rest of the songs are their own.!!! Love SEETHER!!!
Their version is harder than the original. Better? Idk. Too close to call. But definitely harder. Look at/listen to that crowd! That's what bands live for, is to hear a crowd get into it like that. Love the fadeout.
I think kurt would be proud if seether made the song their own by changing it by adding their own signature sound to it, rather then just copying it exactly in every way of the original. Thats what Kurt did when he did covers. He changed the songs to his style of playing (usually making it better) I'm not sure Kurt would be at all proud of this.
@shayaan2354 They're really different style covers, obviously her voice is very different (but very nice), so its not gonna sound the same - personally i LOVE her cover, it sounds great and has a lot of emotion. But Seether also has a really powerful voice, and this also sounds really good. If this was a studio version itd be a lot easier to tell, but both are great IMO :)
@westpsmity While I do not like Seether, I highly respect your response. I find it very refreshing to hear someone admit their unoriginality and am willing to stop trolling this page over it. Thank you for the intelligent response. -Drew
Its kinda funny/ironic that his voice is so similar to kurt's since it was Nirvana that inspired Shaun to be a musician lol :) R.I.P Kurt Seether&Nirvana ftw
@sagalicious123 At the same time, that's about what Seether sounds like all the time. Their pretty much based around Nirvana's sound, where as Nirvana created their own new sound. If they hadn't copied Nirvana's sound here, they wouldn't sound like Seether.
@westpsmity I disagree, I think copying Nirvana's sound is what makes this a bad cover. The point of a cover is to take something from outside your genre and make it your own. Notice how Nirvana covered song's like Love Buzz (and old 60's psychedelic song) or Man Who Sold The World (a David Bowie song). The reason these were good covers is because he took familiar tunes and made them different, adding his own unique spin to it. Copying in entirety, like this, is just sucky.
I knew Kurt never died, he just changed into seether. Put a few pounds on. Probaly got a cure for that stomach problem. And the best, got rid of Courtney Love.
i'm not to this band but they did an alright job. yuo people are really overanalyzing this cover. who cares if they didn't make there own... they probably like nirvana enough to cover one of their songs and plus a nirvana song with this type of crowd would go well.
@sagalicious123 it says their not that original, which I would never rebuke. Seether has some good songs and they generally are enjoyable to listen to, but I am not and would not defend them as especially creative musicians. Almost all bands copy another's sound, only VERY few create genre pushing ideas. I guarantee only a handful of the bands that you or anyone else listens to are completely unique, unless you only listen to a handful of bands...
@MrSpookiegoogie this is youtube dude not the 700 club!! you said so much that meant so little!! it took you lets say 10-15 mn to write what you said ..get a life dude!
keep the legendary songs going.
this is very good.
fun song to play.
(:
even kurt would jam to this,,,sounds awesome!!
They did an amazing job on this song. Thank you.
Seether is the best at covering Nirvana !
That guy Shaun just feels it.. plays and sings with passion..
Seether rocks.
Shaun Morgan has such a powerful voice that even those critical of Nirvana covers have to admit, Seether did this song justice.
I must say, Seether does the best Nirvana covers I've heard.
Best cover i have ever herd O_O Damn Shaun's vocals are right on man!
Kurt lives on. .
I can feel Nirvana's magic and atomosphere in this video as soon as it starts even though we all know it's not "him".
Great, respectful, faithful covers.
I like this verison RIP Kurt!
They covered this song live today at Edgefest. I wasn't paying too much attention, but when I heard this song start I literally turned my head wondering if Nirvana had returned haha. Absolutely incredible
That's my fav Nirvana song.............
SEether did a great job,I must say...
Haven't seen anyone getting closer to Cobain's voice.
id just like to mention, whoever the drummer is, does a superb job. trying to emulate dave grohl is a tough job. great cover.
I loved Kurt and always will but I think a Nirvana reunion tour with Shaun being brought on would be awsome and I think it's what Kurt would want, his music to be carried on and enjoyed by the generations to come.
@BackingTracks6661 you re right, but at unplugged in new york it werent much covers, look at the playlist...!
@tomokyru best COVER =) nothing else compares with Kurt in the permormances of Heart Shapped Box =)
wow la voz es identica
por eso me gusto seether cuando lo escuche
seether is the best band alive!!!!
Who cares if this song is from Nirvana? Shaun said that nirvana inspired them... its kind a tribute for kurt. seether plays every concert 1 nirvana song... and the rest of the songs are their own.!!!
Love SEETHER!!!
Shaun is the next of Kurt ! And Seether the Next of Nirvana !
very good
If Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic ever decide to do a reunion show, I think they should hire Shawn for the vocals, he has them nailed.
I'm a diehard Nirvana fan, and after watching a few of Seether's covers, I have to admit, at times, his voice sounds pretty similair to Kurt's.
i bet kurt is happy that some1 took the torch from him to keep playing good music
If Seether did nothing but cover Nirvana I'd still rate them with the best bands in the world. \m/
fucking love seether
@westpsmity So what does that say about a band when their sound can be defined as copying another band's sound?
Their version is harder than the original. Better? Idk. Too close to call. But definitely harder. Look at/listen to that crowd! That's what bands live for, is to hear a crowd get into it like that. Love the fadeout.

R.I.P Kurt
Seether&Nirvana ftw
@ccblp You got that right!
I will always like Nirvana's version more, but its a fact that Shaun technicaly sings better, but Kurt puts soul and more rawness in it
The one person who disliked this must be Courtney Love!
@sagalicious123 At the same time, that's about what Seether sounds like all the time. Their pretty much based around Nirvana's sound, where as Nirvana created their own new sound. If they hadn't copied Nirvana's sound here, they wouldn't sound like Seether.
theyre not nirvana but DAMN, that was FUCKING AMAZING!

I like the orginal better but he's the closest thing to kurt now
omg he sounds so much like kurt cobain!!!!

I knew Kurt never died, he just changed into seether. Put a few pounds on. Probaly got a cure for that stomach problem. And the best, got rid of Courtney Love.
This nirvana or seether? Oh,couldnt tell the difference
OMG This is Kurt reincarnated WTF!?!?!?
Seether backwards means Nirvana don't u see it...?? ok try it as hard as you can to place the letters it's not hard....!!! lol
i'm not to this band but they did an alright job. yuo people are really overanalyzing this cover. who cares if they didn't make there own... they probably like nirvana enough to cover one of their songs and plus a nirvana song with this type of crowd would go well.
Almost sounds just like Kurt.....
Oh wait this is Seether, I this was Nirvana, sorry
@sagalicious123 it says their not that original, which I would never rebuke. @tttDye6ottt o.O
How did this poor quality video get so many views? Mine is easily twice the quality, with a better cover of the same song.
there is only one and is dead
