Personally that 10 melee class from the valkarie's veil saved me on the final bosses, i had exactly 99, getting that 10 extra put me at 100, got the legend bonus and won because of it, as i was in the fight i noticed,(i was using polearms), i hit the boss, he got knocked back JUST enough i didn't get hit, and gave me enough time to drink a healing potion, i know its a very, VERY specific circumstance, but still, one time is better than none
we love barony! good veideo keep it up! I want more people to find this game so badly. been playing for about 3 years now and its changed so much. love watching youtubers make quality videos about this game. it has so much to offer and people dont even give it a chance
I'm glad someone else acknowledges that the Axe Legendary skill is objectively the best. The ability to perma-kite Cockatrice & Minotaurs without any help from spells is invaluable.
It's kind of funny how the ranged dropped off compared to the beta days ~7 years ago. It was my go to strat for Herx back then no matter the class: collect all staffs, bows and crossbows just to never get close to him.
I adore the Veil. Because I use the sword to apply Dots. The Axe to Slow and chunk things. AND THEN the Spear to keep it from forcing me back any farther until it dies. To me, the Veil is +30. Because I find the artifact weapons to just be better than any of the legendary effects. So I use a variety of weapons and it never really hurts me.
Is it worth it switching to an artifact as monk? I got the axe in the second level and im not sure if its better to grind the axe skill from scratch than continue with unarmed.
If you get it this early, it's worth imo. There is no unbreakable attack gauntlet so even if you buff it a lot via enchantments, there's a chance of it breaking at some point. Also the unarmed legendary bonus isn't all that worth, Axe bonus is superior.
Artifact helm: just no. 8% spell power/regen isnt useful to any mage or ranger(way better alternatives exist like spell power, more mana regen, faster draw speed or dex boosting helm). For melee its just an average early game AC boost. 8% SP/Regen doesn't matter. At most, a B tier for easy early AC. Warriors dont have a useful head piece besides AC unless you going hybrid. Artifact spear: agreed. Artifact axe: agreed. Artifact mace: means nothing to mage. Mages have 200% regen already if you minmax and their strength is just too bad. Warrior does have a decent use for this as their mp regen is bad. A tier for those reasons. Utility magic is always too good to pass up so having regen to back it up is good. Artifact sword: sure. Artifact glove: this is the best in slot. This is also the best way to obtain 1 mana resistance as the first point of mana res is the most important, halving damage. Dex gloves arent useful as head piece exists for rangers, strength gloves arent useful as you can enchant your weapon. Maybe if you care for bare handed you can pass this up but youre better off using an artifact as a monk or accursed. Easy S tier. Artifact bow: best in slot for archer, obviously. Actually easy to get if you keep thunder staffs from gnomish mines and use stealth(atleast dont hold a torch). Rangers are busted with the use of throwables as those ignore 50% of AC. You use artifact bow mainly if youre out of throwables or against main bosses. Besides, ranger isnt magic meaning they deal noticeably more damage to bosses than mages due to boss resistances(130% against baron, 150% against twins (the female one is even resistant to magic)). Don't forget that you can get smite arrows and all bosses take more damage from these. Take in those factors, and all rangers become actually useful, just gotta use some strategy and stealth(mages cant cast magic and stealth). Easy S tier, guaranteed early game artifact with a good effect. Artifact chest: could be bumped up to B tier. Its best in slot for warrior and ranger. Hp regen helps a little on later stages between fights. Besides, its unbreakable. Artifact cape: controversial S tier. Without it, on the twins fight you either fight without levitation or you sacrifice magic resistance in the ring slot(of course levitation boots exist but they're rare and can easily break, levitation skill uses too much mana for a mage). The cape frees up your ring slot so you can use magic resistance. Besides, this cloak doesnt burn and basically best in slot. Cloak of protection doesnt compare, 1 AC on stage 35, seriously? Invis cloak is close but at this point youre 100 stealth which serves same purpose. Mana reflect cloak can be decent but after they break, what else you're gonna use? Mana regen from this cloak is nice but unnecessary. Although if you're going for chad points by not using mana pots during the twins fight, cloak immensely helps as you can keep on your magic reflect ability for basically infinity. Artifact mask: i'd bump it up to D tier. Best in slot for warrior ironically enough thanks to it's AC buff and being guaranteed. If you have money problems in Hamlet it's your fault. Jewelry all the way.
Agree with your points but the list rates artifacts relative to each other, if it were relative to other items of the same category, I'd have tiered them differently.
Nice tier list :)
Sharur can also be dropped by Anansi. Same with Dyrnwyn, but King Arthur drops it instead.
Yeah, I edited the King Arthur thing in as text in the video but forgot about Anansi! Good point.
Me not nowing what shagor was and i scrapped it in my 4 man team bc nobody wanted it
I haven't heard of this game before but this video came up in my recommended. It seems very interesting. I've subscribed!
now i'm not defending the Valkyrie's vail. but it does have some good use in goblin runs

It makes sense the boots don’t have levitation though, guaranteed levitation would spoil the fun of barony
Ehem.. guess what.

If you get the artifact axe as an early game ninja should you switch to axe or still focus on sword to use your sword stat?
I still stick with swords on ninja even if I find the axe because ninja starts with super high sword skill.
Use axe. Farming melee is easy and if you really need to, kite hamlet merchants around a single tile
I need to try to get every artifact in a single run

I want to know this, why are crosshairs in this game non-symmetrical? It always tilts on one side. Didn't they notice that? Devs?
Im new to barony and I want to know if there's a way to relearn summon skeleton spell. I lost it in the begining and somehow beat baron hex
Nope. You can forget spells by reading cursed spell books. There is no way to learn Conjure Skeleton outside of spawning with it.
YOOOOOOOO BARONY CONTENTT
How do you get the Valkyries veil I've never found it
You can buy it at the Mysterious Merchant in Hamlet if you bring the Red Orb.
how do you know skills dont boost above 100 for calculations?
I’ve tested it and it doesn’t
Game doesn't let it go above 100 in skills menu
if im not mistaken they degrade now?
No lmao
@ swear i had one break on me
I would NEVER pick up sharur. all my HOMIES think it's annoying
