Kompo in Gambia

A Kumpo is of the Jola people of Gambia and Senegal. See as a guardian spirit whose main function is to protect a village from malevolent forces such as witchcraft. It also serves as a means of environmental cleanliness as locals clean and clear the village prior to the arrival of a Kumpo, this in order to allow it free and fluid movement. One Love Gamaica Vee
