Super beautiful model ,only the yellow defrosters on the front windows are missing, and the chain that connects the lever of the manual release to the front hook, he also lacks the lights that illuminate the trolleys and the 4 ladders
Nice review, and a Fantastic Model. As someone who lives next to the CN Flint Subdivision, I can tell you that, I've seen these new Teir 4 GEVO locomotives hundreds of times, and that is exactly what they look like and sound like, and the horn is 100% accurate on both looks and sound. A little bit of weathering, and you have yourself a 100% dead on accurate representation of the prototype. Outstanding job Intermountain.
The front coupler is a Kadee #146 which is a long shanked whisker coupler. In previous locomotives like the ES44ACs, Intermountain use a long shank coupler on typically the front end where there was a plow, but they typically used a plastic Kadee coupler so they could use the centering springs. The back still uses a #5.
Nice review guys. Hey Dan here's a thought, Tell everyone the minimum radius of the loco. I still have some 18 inch track on my layout so I know that's a bit tight for today's modern stuff. I look forward to all your videos..
I've watched my share of model reviews now, and this one here is probably the nicest 8/10 spikes one I've seen.. SO close to EPIC, but close only counts in.. well. Here's hoping the manufacturers will/can tighten down their 'QC' soon. The price on these units fairly demands it (imho).
What a fantastic model BUT the steps as seen and my biggest bug bear another manufacturer can't get the coupler height right but at least use Kadees. All but for some small detail things this model could have achieved an EPIC status review. Thanks Dan great review. Cheers.
Nice review! I'm not getting one just yet, I need an EMD SD40-2 by scaletrains first. Are you gonna do a review on the CSX SD40-3 by scaletrains, I've been looking for a review, and it seems as if there is none.

I have been waiting!!!! And great video like always
Wide cab locomotives seem to be a hallmark of the Canadian national railway. Never fails to amaze me on how many variants they operate.
