I make 9900KS tests for this channel. I have RTX 3080. To be short 9900K(S) Max OC (5.2GHz / 4200cl16 33ns) is equal to 5700x3d, 5800x3d about 5-10% better.
These results are actually pretty decent for 9700K, that's one hell of a cpu for its age. With b-dies and stuff could get extra performance and get much closer to 5700x3d just like 9900K(S) does Btw, are subtimings tightened for 9700K here? Seems like they are a little, but 47ns feels kinda slow for this architecture. I would expect another 10-15% from fast dual rank b-die.
I'm still pretty happy with my 9700k, I'm running it at 4.9GHz core-4.6GHz cache (5ghz is a bit too much for my cooler) with ddr4 oc @ 3600 cl 16 19 19 37 (samsung b-die 2x8 xpm 3200cl15) which I'd love to push further, but it is impossible since my board is a t-topology and on top of that it is an awful board for memory overclocking (aorus z390 pro wifi) I'm actually in process of buying a 9900k for 100usd. Too bad the i7 needs a lot of voltage to go above 5.0ghz and will consume a lot of power to do so, still a great cpu for its age.
@MauricioGMe 9900K is a good upgrade for 100$. This cpu is still so capable even when not ram tuned. I suggest you add extra 2 sticks to saturate the platform's capabilities along with that 9900K 🎉
@@MauricioGMebut if you've seen other videos from this channel with my 9900KS max oc (+ my own videos), you'd see how significant overclokcing is for that chip, basically makes it a 5700X3D in games
Micron E-die is not as good as Samsumg B-die at the same frequency. I set up almost all the timings, not just the main ones. I will try to add information about timings in future videos.
Test 9900k OC 5GHZ vs 5800x3d/5700x3d with the SAME GPU.

I'll try this in the future

Windows 10 or 11 in tests?
