- We fire up our Primitive Oven to the max! and use it as a Kiln to bake the pottery items from previous Pottery Battle. On / smoothgefixt poll you folks have voted for the winner of the battle, who can choose among combustion devices, to bring on the big survival challenge, coming up...
This is the second part of the third out of five battles and today we are battling for combustion devices. The winner will choose a combustion device for himself and also assign one to the looser. It's very important to win those battles and score some good survival items, because that's all we got for the real challenge, coming up. With just the items won in these battles, we start on a doon fort Island. From there we individually have to make it to the extraction point within three days, 50 km away up the mountain. @@shrib-tvyt7288 I totally agree! They've been uploading amazing videos for a long time, so why don't they have more viewers yet? I believe they get less exposure because of the country from where they upload from. I wonder if it would help get more exposure from other countries such as the US by using a VPN and uploading from a US IP instead :S

You needed to glaze the pottery with a natural food safe glaze, it will make it water tight vessels for water or food. There may be some recipes on you tube for some glaze’s

Keep it up guys! Those of us who have been watching from the beginning understand the challenges that you guys face making regular weekly videos that the two of face but you have great content and it's highly enjoyable! I may have forgotten if you have been there, but as a Norwegian descendant, would love to see one from Norway!
Beeswax is my go to for sealing up pottery. In AZ we have plenty of hives and plenty of wax/honey mixtures that drip and collect down the mountainside when it heats up excess of 115°
awesome two posts in a week! Respect dylan for picking the lighter over the fire steel, lighter honestly is easier for a short term trip, even though most survival experts rave about fire steels.
Just split the matchsticks with a knive, then you have four!
Julius, are you allowed to augment your matches in the bush? Use a wad of pine pitch to lay your match half in! ;o)

Hey boys, loving the content! My only point of critique would be the "spoilers" in the intro's. I've noticed that you put clips in the intro of the episode that I'm about to watch and gives away (too much) information. That's just my 2 cents, I watch the videos regardless :)

Dylan - good use of resources - you could turn your hat inside-out. That would give it character (dirt stains, etc.) AND keep your head clean! ;oD

For the water jug handle, you can use vine or cordage.

i think Julias would have gave Dylan something better than 2 matches. they work however, there are so many risk that could ruin them not to mention if it were a windy day. great battle you guys have going though, on to the next one we go.

concerning the two matches, there are ways to preserve the amber, so you only have to make fire once and then carrying the amber with you.

You need to make an ember safe as soon as possible and try to carry fire somehow
The flashlight is easy. All you need is the battery and some gum wrappers. The matches can be doubled by carefully splitting them in half long ways.
In my experience AA is easy doing the technique with gum-wrap, but then AAA batteries seem to be unreliable (?)
Smooth Gefixt 9 volt batteries work a lot better than tube batteries since the post are so close together

You only need to light that fire once and keep it alive for the 3 days :-D
2 Matches can be enough if they don't get blown out by the wind before you manage to light your fire.

How do we know this?
One way to test it is if it had that nice loud ringing sound to them whenever you hit something against it. But I guess that doesn’t matter, by the way I love the kiln
