I support Ukraine out of principle: "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” So I do what I can to support Ukraine against the Russian tyrants. I feel some pity for the Russian soldiers because they are dying by the hundreds of thousands for a Putin Lie. But I have no respect for the Russian people because they normally just stick their head in the ground and hear and see nothing. Then when asked about the war, they say "I don't know about the war, I am not political." Everything is Russia is political, so that is a bullshit answer.
This is probably the only new year greeting that made me and my family cry. But when we had all calmed down, an air alarm sounded. russia gave us a New Year's "gift". We will not forgive this. I knew some uni students from Kyiv who would work part time at Kvartal 95 shows in 2010s (moving decorations and all that). They were paid decently (50-70$ for one concert, which was alot back then) and Zelensky made a point to thank each one of them after every show. The first UA President with a good heart.

I'm Ukrainian, and it was the first time I cried during the President's greeting. When you live in this war, in this abnormal amount of stress every day, you kinda forget what normal life was like. It starts to feel like it never existed. Air alarms, bombings, shelters, wounded soldiers (I work at the hospital), news from the fronts. It's became a routine. And his greeting made me remember that it isn't normal life. That it was a time when I was upset by how messy Witcher series was, not by bombing of maternity hospital. This war is a trauma. So to all Ukrainians: if you feel like you not doing enough, remember, that you're under wery traumatic and horrible circumstances. Amount of stress you going through every day is abnormally big. So don't be too hard on yourself.

Yes, he stayed, but he feels pretty safe in bunker, also he can leave the country anytime, unlike me. So, definitely not a hero. Sorry, reality is not as nice and simple as it is pictured.

I'm Ukrainian, and it was the first time I cried during the President's greeting. When you live in this war, in this abnormal amount of stress every day, you kinda forget what normal life was like. It starts to feel like it never existed. Air alarms, bombings, shelters, wounded soldiers (I work at the hospital), news from the fronts. It's became a routine. And his greeting made me remember that it isn't normal life. That it was a time when I was upset by how messy Witcher series was, not by bombing of maternity hospital. This war is a trauma. So to all Ukrainians: if you feel like you not doing enough, remember, that you're under wery traumatic and horrible circumstances. Amount of stress you going through every day is abnormally big. So don't be too hard on yourself.
I'm so sorry to hear. Reading your comment has made me realize how lucky I still am despite daily struggles. Take care, and may GOD hear Ukrainian people's prayers. 💙💛
