Great lesson again. Although your guest steals the show. I like your teaching style. The way you just call the notes (because they're good to know) and the no nonsense approach. Well, apart from the pants thing. lol. In real life my name is Dave, too. Always good to meet another Dave. Thanks again. From, Dave in the future 3 years.
The best internet channel my friend !!!!! Thanks for all !!!! You are the best, but your wife is the most beautiful !!!!!!!!!! Regards from Argentina....
Would have been nice to hear you play the full song in it's entirity, with the beautiful Emily on vocals. You're a great teacher Dave, and obviously a maestro on guitar!
Thank you, Dave!! This is the ONLY correct tutorial of this song on RUclips!! I can tell you're a professional player. There's SO many wrong versions of this out there, including the sheet music and chords. That's what is happening with the internet, people don't/won't take the time to listen to the chord voicings, nor can read music nowadays... :-( Still, Great job, Dave!! I grew up on these songs!!
Very good job!! In the bridge, I only play an entire bar at fifth, seventh and second fret....It's "super folky" with entire bar. The other very unique and made this song eternal 70's masterpiece is the keyboard played along with the chorus. I would love to see, someone playing the others instruments parts, including the keyboard's part!!
So Good. I am a shredder and play old 70's too. LOL strange combo, but I like ALL Music. Your D11 and E11 is the ticket on that part (I Come Home From A Hard Days Work), many play wrong, and don't play D11 & E11. . I play by ear and am sure it is right. But to my ears that B9 (13) sounds a little weird? I didn't know the names of weird chords, except from You :) That B9 (13) just sounds a little off to my ears. (Don't know names, but to ME this sounds more pleasing to my ear, but I didn't even go back and listen to original) But from Low E to High E, I tried: Muted Low E so 6th string you don't play, so ( X,2,2,2,0,0) it's a B something? LOVE YOUR Lesson! Sometimes songs you know how to play correct but sometimes you add a note and it sounds better, even if it isn't right.
A few of these chords are the culmination of many instruments playing different things. The Am7 on the record sounds like a C on the guitar but the bass is playing A which gives the total sound the Am7. I think someone it playing an Amaj7 and the bass is playing a B making the chord a B13 however, it sounds better on acoustic, at least to me, to add the F#, the 5th of B, accentuating that this chord is the 5 and that we will resolve back to E. The adding of this F# in place of the E makes the chord a B9(13), hence why I use it. If you like, you can play the 2nd fret from 5th string to 1st string barred and then add the G# on the 4th fret of the high E and use the B13. Either one sounds good to me. I hope this helps.
I'm a piano player who mostly dabbles on guitar, so forgive this quick intrusion? I just jump in 'cause it might be a bit handy to other "dabblers" (or, Who knows? maybe to lotsa players here?) I find that the 1st Am7 where Dave says to not hit the A? Can sound pretty good by just hitting a plain old "cowboy" C chord. Sounds nice & works for me! You? ..just sayin' - Thanks for your time!
Wow Dave, I was like how did you get Susan Tedeschi to sing with you and where’s Derek? Wasn’t disappointed though, Emily sings lovey and the video was awesome as always. Thanks
Having a beautiful person sitting behind the teacher is a very effective pedagological tool. Well done.
Love this song, and that beautiful woman has nice arms!

who's the cutie in the background?
Is there somewhere I can find more detail on how to finger pick the G G/F G/E G/D part?
Just slow down the video
Very nicely done. And, does Emily have HER own channel? - asking for a friend.
She does but it's being revamped. ruclips.net/channel/UCxYkxWIAK2h64UpdRDSG1tQ
@@DavesGuitarChannel Just wanted to say "thanks" for responding . . . its not something that often happens.
Hey, you've got Emily right there, use her voice more! Great guitar lesson! :)
I agree. I'm thinking play the song through to the first or second chorus right at the start then go into the lesson....
I disagree. Hearing Dave sing makes me think I can sing too.
@@darrelldunn4618 Hah! :)
If you can't quite on the flowing through the Jasmine in my mind with the picked out stuff you can hold onto a G chord couldn't you?
Yes and could bounce to C/G like a pulse
@@DavesGuitarChannel 🙂🙂 thank you
Why do people do tutorials with guitar out of tune?
Vincent ..s
Nice lesson Dave got it!....now I just need a cute chick to sing the high parts. sigh
Great lesson but please tune your guitar next time 😁
yeah I did 5 lessons in a row and kept stopping to tune. This one got away from me.
