I like to play it safe and start every day with the word Entry, typically followed by Audio to get all the vowels. I find that starting with Entry gets me that occasional critical letter y and tells me whether it's at the end of the word or not which is really important. After that if I'm searching for more consonants I will often go with champ, chimp, chomp, or chump, depending on which vowel I have in the word. Or maybe Flesh for the letter e.
interesting - I like entry - I use 'poise' and 'laugh' and then 'forty' if needed. Audio is another good one I never considered. I got today's in 4 tries - all letters right from the beginning. Nice when that happens - rare for me.
Your comment got my attention because you’re absolutely correct. It’s not guessing, it’s a method. Adieu and Story cover all the vowels and then it’s a matter of figuring it out. I do it everyday and try to come up with entertaining video clues ruclips.net/user/shorts9hm2kPr3F-4?si=7apa_mGZG3bwXRo4 So I use Wordle to make me learn video editing skills. Have fun out there 😊🎉
I prefer to start with a different word every day - and usually it's just the first thing that pops into my head. Of course, that means I don't win every day, but it's fun to mix things up.
My starting word is typically “stone”. It only uses 2 vowels, but all 5 letters are within the 8 most common letters used, and I almost always get some information from that word to make educated guesses that normally gets me to the actual word within 4 guesses.
My first 3 words are Aired, Ghoul and Scamp, whilst it covers one less letter than your three words it covers all the vowels and only the a is double with it being a vowel it is in a lot of words anyway so gives me two chances of finding it's placement
I thought I was something special with a 3.74 average, but then found out that Sweden is the world leader with an average of 3.71. (The US trails far behind with 3.9 something). So I started to focus and got it down to 3.59. My goal is to get to 3.5. Love this game. I used to start with Heart but then discovered that WordleBot solves most quickly using the starting word Crane. So I switched.
Fun video! I love Wordle. I do it every morning to wake up my brain and my sister and a friend and I share how many guesses and then after that we share our words. The one that stumped me the most was a word with NO VOWELS! That really threw me! I think of words usually having vowels. But now I know better! Oh and I always start Wordle with a different word every day. Using the same one would be too boring to me. lol!
My secret to keeping a streak of one word guesses is playing it first in an incognito tab. After getting the correct word, I then encode it on my tab that keeps my data
My top starters (I always eliminate C and common vowels and consonants. I also avoid using U on the first try, hence no CRUST): CRANE, CREST, CRATE, TRACE, TRICE, CARTS, REACT, CRIES, COAST, ASCOT, SCORE, CASTE, SCARE, SCENT, SCALE, ENACT, ACTOR, CLEAR, CLONE
Another good word to start with is audio BC it has four out of five vowels a, I, o, u, then for more information do trees since it has e and then you used all your vowels
I start with poise and then depending, I go with aught. Then I have all the vowels and maybe a consonant or two. Since it's only a five letter word, it's not hard after that.
My seven-year-old self: I'm 10 parallel years ahead of you guys and it's called mastermind... I don't know why I loved that game it was just guess colors but yet it was so much fun.
I have more 4 guess finishes than all other rankings combined. I got there by using my first three guesses to use as many consonants as possible. once you've cleared the board of those, there are generally simple rules you can follow to figure out which vowel and where it goes. getting the vowels first is novice at best... because every word has vowels. It's the instantly known factor.
Basically, yes. But Mastermind is much more difficult and thus, to me it's more fun. With Mastermind, you're also told when you got a colored peg exactly right, and when you got a colored-peg in the wrong position... _but you're not told which peg it is!_ That's for you to figure out for yourself! Wordle, of course, tells you exactly which letters you have exactly right, and which letters you have right but in the wrong position. This takes away much of the logical deductions you would normally have to make. Of course, if Wordle did that, the game wouldn't NEARLY be as popular as it is. Most people don't want to think that much.
audio works for me... style usually pumps in a few... I don't get F very often and it bites me in the backside... I've written a bash script that uses "grep" against a dictionary I combined several text files to create... most of my errors at this point are keyboarding errors... octordle is a good stretch of the original wordle...
What's your go-to starting word? 👀
Faith
Crane
Opera
Learn
Heart

@WhoIsKrystal Sometimes I like to use these 4 words: Glide, Frost, Nymph, Quack

People with “trusty starting words” are idiots.
@woodedlane Nobody cares, dearie.
@justicegusting2476 lol Obviously you did. Feel better now?
I love that many books in the background were green (plus the vase? mug? on the table), as was the Nirvana shirt.
I start with Adieu and Story first, gets rid of the vowels, and the str letters too!
Mine are IRATE and SOUND
Mine is adieu and storm... Basically the same but m is more commonly used than y I guess...
@Aero-rh8ce
btw...
"adieu" + "snort"
... is the same letters as...
"irate" + "sound"
I think leaving the "n" that late would make me anxious. 😅

Have fun out there 😊🎉
I like to emphasize consonants over vowels. It's much easier to determine a word from its consonants over its vowels.
Kayak actually showed up
If you do , fjord, waltz, nymph, gybes, quick then you get all letter gone except x and v or double letters
My starting word today was clown 💀
🤡

Alternatively: look up the secret word ahead of time and brag online about how you got it “first try!!”
That’s what I did 😂
They will be on to you
"How To Master the Fine Art of Being a Jackass"
😄
😂and miss out on the fun ! No way!
First try is a lucky guess. I want to see you work it out.
Irate is my main starting word. Today it allowed me to get it in 2. Pretty pretty good.
Got it on my 1st guess the other day when the word was OTHER. Pure luck.
I get every word first try lol
I got the word on my first try last week. I really enjoy playing so I was bummed it was over so fast. 😂
I argue that getting the word in two or more guesses is better than getting it on the first try
Haha I always start with stare too.
Great video! Very likable host as well.
Stare is always my first guess, too!
just start with adieu to know all the vowels in the word
I start with audio, followed by tiers if I think there might be an 'e' in there. Getting the vowels sorted first helps me.
My starting word is typically “stone”. It only uses 2 vowels, but all 5 letters are within the 8 most common letters used, and I almost always get some information from that word to make educated guesses that normally gets me to the actual word within 4 guesses.
My go to is “alone” - 3 vowels
@shelby_n28Try "adieu".4 vowels
The strategy I do is email then soups just to do all the vowels
Raise followed by mouth followed by fudgy (if necessary) has never failed me lol
I always start with TEACH and NOISY
3:50 talks about getting Geese one day then the word of today is Goose lol.
My first 3 words are Aired, Ghoul and Scamp, whilst it covers one less letter than your three words it covers all the vowels and only the a is double with it being a vowel it is in a lot of words anyway so gives me two chances of finding it's placement
Irate and Sound are usually my first 2 words. That way I've covered all vowels in my first 2 goes.
I thought I was something special with a 3.74 average, but then found out that Sweden is the world leader with an average of 3.71. (The US trails far behind with 3.9 something). That's cheating though!
I always go for SHARK as my first guess 🙂
Works like a sharm
for normal mode i always do aisle, mound, crypt
Really comprehensive video! 👍👍👍
Stare is also my starting word. I should work for the NYT.
Normally, I'll go with TEARS as the first try.
Thank you I just failed todays wordle but Tomorrow I will come back stronger... #Resilience #Tenacious.
I look for others to post theirs and it can help to give me some strategy
I start with the words ABOUT or ADIEU because of the vowels.
I usually use
Ocean
or
Tiler
For vowels
I usually do it first on my iPad then do it on my laptop afterwards. I always seem to get it first go then.
Adieu is a good word to start with. I missed the word today because a letter repeated. I usually get a little stumped with words with one vowel.
I always start with ‘about’ followed by ‘smile’. I normally solve it in three or four guesses.
Movie is my go to word in order to eliminate 3 of the 5 vowels
Not being native speaker in English Wordle is even harder because it’s so many words I’ve never even heard of😅
SEPIA has been my first word, but will see if Roate does better.
i once guessed the word "THING" and it was all in yellow!
i then realized that the answer is NIGHT
Life changing
My dads mate does alien then mousy. Removes all of the vowels and the y which is a Demi vowel
I use adieu then Storm that gets me all the vowels in two guesses
Audio adieu are good starters in my opinion
Thanks! 👍
I feel called out by using beast lol
My top starters (I always eliminate C and common vowels and consonants. I also avoid using U on the first try, hence no CRUST):
CRANE, CREST, CRATE, TRACE, TRICE, CARTS, REACT, CRIES, COAST, ASCOT, SCORE, CASTE, SCARE, SCENT, SCALE, ENACT, ACTOR, CLEAR, CLONE
My go to words : audio, aisle, patio.
AISLE & YOUTH as first tries. Works everytime. All vowels.
LOL Adieu is my starting word, followed by front. I get all the vowels and often get it in 3 or 4.
I usually do roast and then mince ☺️😋
Another good word to start with is audio BC it has four out of five vowels a, I, o, u, then for more information do trees since it has e and then you used all your vowels
Brick, podgy, shunt, flame; my go to words
when its june and worlde has removed roate as a word
i use the word AROSE as it has 3 vowels and commonly used consonants
My first 3 words are usually completely different. Just trying to get as many letters as possible (depending on the outcome of the first 2).
Best starting point for me is the word AUDIO which offers 4 vowels
I always start with adieu
i almost always start with adieu
You mentioned the word I always start with, but it's not stare.
Aisle followed by mount.
1:10 or just do corgi, it tests positions for the R, it has most of the letters in dingo and it could be the word
I personally go for ‘Adieu’ as my first word. Gets 4/5 vowels out of the way first,
Or audio
My starting words are NAIEO, DURST and LYMPH. Takes into account letter frequency, vowel intensity and duplicate letters.
@ 2:19 i start with "piano" and then "carts"
I use AUDIO or ROUTE for my first word. I almost always get at least 1 letter in yellow or green using either of these.
I think the only times I've lost at wordle is when the word ends with "ing". There's so many possible correct guesses for that.
The first word I go for are words that use the vowels.
People always say to use adieu but it usually gets you not far. The reason is the word is usually complex
I recall missing only one with the x...
Today, 10 February 2022, I guessed the wordle in 2 guesses without anyone’s help.
First time tonight I did it on the first try. What are the chances. I’m still in shock.
Me too!
2:21 try
FLAME

WAQFS
VOZHD I win 99.9% of the time

I start with Stare or Adieu
I also use STARE! i feel smarter already.
Nice
My starting word is STARE
I prefer to start with 1 vowel, first, strap, ports, something like that with 4 good consonants
I start with audio or adieu
3 Word Combo: STAIR, (B/C/H)ONED and LUMPY
mine is adieu and than crown
RATIO
MENDS

Writing here on October 9 2024, mommy popped up!!! You were on point at around 3:52 in the vid hehe

This game is basically like Mastermind but with words.

I have the very best 2 words to start with.......🤣
Bayou is the real starter word
I start with adieu
i never knew my wordle strategy is actually just wordle hard mode 💀
