I remember Wavy Gravy from the documentary Woodstock. I believe that the Hog Farm made their way across the country in an old school bus. Thank you for an educational video experience.
Unexpected steep loose climbs mixed up with long flats is the reason I love my 2x11. Please keep making videos like this, I love to explore ride and it’s great inside information to see some of these trails.
Ah...yes! Another one to do! Thanks Russ! Loved that spot on 9:04 (Coyote Grove)...stopped there when we did the "Truck Trail Shenanigans" route, need to back and hang a hammock or something.
Yup did a similar ride up to Cherry Canyon via Chevy Chase this weekend killer elevation steep and fun. Once you cut the corner onto the trail you feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere!
@@SkycladWanderer pretty sure they're referring to the movie "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote". Do a bit of research, the story is absolutely amazing; be sure to also watch "Lost in La Mancha"
Thanks for the tip, this was a good loop -- nice views, secluded. I don't think there was much over 10% that lasted more than several seconds. And no keeyotees.
it seems to me the mirror is attached to the glasses and not to the helmet, but when I check the take a look mirror website it's attached to the helmet. What is better in your experience?
Russ, have you gotten the chance to load up the Bombora for a multi day tour yet? How did it handle the weight? Did it get all noodles? Or stay supple as ever!?
Seated climbing and low gears keep traction while climbing. Descending is a mixed bag. Usually keep it slow and under control and try not lock up the brakes.
Just like “Matthew Revilla” I thought the brake squeak was part of the music. It fit in so well. I wish my brake were in tune with my playlist, but the my tires are usually a little “flat”...... 😏 Okay that’s a bad dad joke
Great idea about showing us gravel routes in L.A. Have you ridden the Brush Canyon Trail in Hollywood? It has been many years since I rode it so I don't know if it is still open but it shows up on Google Maps. Thanks for sharing ;
@@freddixon The horse (or equestrian) lobby was the reason for the ban. They even banned people walking w/ their bikes across the bridge from burbank's equestrian center to griffith park. They have money, so they have power. And, the laws reflect it.
If you could do it all from scratch, how would you build up the bombora? I've been look at the Grx stuff but its hydraulic. I would love a 1x with the ability to run a dropper seat actuated from the left shifter. Any suggestions I just preordered a bombora and have knocking my head because of the breaking being mismatched.
Path Less Pedaled Ok, that surprises me a little. I really like how fast you can click a tour together especially if there are highlights from the community present. But maybe this differs between Germany and the USA. Also used it in foreign locations.
Path Less Pedaled Maybe this is a business opportunity 😉 I know that they support German and British RUclipsrs. Maybe they need a supple American ambassador 🤔

I live here in the inland empire and you have already rode more places than I have living here, great content !
I.E.!! You doing the Strada Rossa in March?
B. Plus probably not honestly but not ruling it out
I really like her positivity. shes cool!
Love how your disc brakes sang right on pitch with the music! Haha
Is the RidewithGPS link not working for anyone else?
Watching this from a wet and very windy Scotland. You guys have it made!! Keep it up!

Hope you enjoyed LA! thanks for the vid
Love this: No Shame In Walking! Live to ride another day. Thanks for the vid!
You and Laura have a great job with an alternate universe of a pedaled Los Angles. Can’t wait for your take on Tucson and southern Arizona.

This looks a great ride with the right bike.

So rad! Loving these LA videos. I swear I'm going to get out there eventually.
Your pronunciation of coyote never gets old.
It might be Don Quixote!! Great video! DD
@@dennisdownes9319 the whole story of that film is absolutely amazing; second only to the attempted making of Herzog's "Fitzcarraldo".

Gabriel Frazee is it a regional pronunciation, or just a fun Russ quirk?
Doug CohenMiller I’m just trolling pronunciation freaks.
Some steep gravel. Looked awesome though. Beautiful out there
Love the bike rides. Thanks

Loving the LA content. Can't wait to visit.
what's the name of the song in 7:41 ? This song also comes up in another of your videos (can't remember which)
some instrumental version of Stays The Same by Gloria Tells
Wavy Gravy !!!!! Met him years ago in San Francisco. Crazy ride...but I like it. I bet you get a lot of dirt motorcycle riders in that area.
How are you liking the bike after the fitting? Are you going to do a follow up video on that?
Yeah. After a few rides. Shoulders definitely less fatigued.
I wish you'd come to the SF Bay and discover some gravel! Love this ride, thanks. One last thing: what size tires are you riding?
it seems to me the mirror is attached to the glasses and not to the helmet, but when I check the take a look mirror website it's attached to the helmet. What is better in your experience?

What would you say is the min width tire for this ride? What size chainring do you have in front again? 32t?
45mm min. 38 front.
Do you have traction issues in loose stuff that degree of vertical? And how's descending through that steep loose stuff?

Great video ever thought about riding Fullerton loop in Fullerton ca it’s also a short ride I believe it’s 12 miles but it’s a lot of fun

That trail is in Griffith Park, which bans bikes on all dirt trails. You must have lived here a long time ago. I wish they still allowed bikes.
20+ years ago. Do they still allow horses?
@@freddixon The horse (or equestrian) lobby was the reason for the ban. They even banned people walking w/ their bikes across the bridge from burbank's equestrian center to griffith park. They have money, so they have power. And, the laws reflect it.
so sad. I think that horses are far more damaging to the trail system ;
Awesome! 😃
Do you think this is possible to do on a 34t front with 11-36 steel gravel bike or would I need something like a 28t or 30t with 10-42 min to do this?
I would go low. Can’t really stand and climb without breaking traction in the rear.
I haven’t ridden outside since November. I need to leave NY.

I would get the same brakes I’m running. The Yokozuna cable hydros are awesome.
I am not sure but did you ever try Komoot?
Not a fan of their planning tools.
Path Less Pedaled Ok, that surprises me a little. I really like how fast you can click a tour together especially if there are highlights from the community present. But maybe this differs between Germany and the USA. Also used it in foreign locations.
orci77 not many komoot users in the US. Hardly any routes to work from.

orci77 they have American ambassadors. We’re just not cool enough :)
Did you guys leave Montana or are you just visiting?
Visiting.
WTF happened to that car by the commune?!
‘Merica happened.
💡 Aquire the Hog Farm property and rebuild it as a bike hostel...
could you please straighten your computer mount?
Leaving it crooked for the OCD folks :)
