Reminds me of home (kenya) in the country side. I didn’t realize how beautiful it is to listen to birds chirp up until I ran across this video. I was young back then. Now I yearn to go back and enjoy it.
I hope you get to go back to Kenya, the sounds of the savanna there are just gorgeous. I have a few recordings from there on my channel including this one: ruclips.net/video/Lv7_3UQNo4s/видео.html
Moments like this make me miss Kenya so much 😩. Waking up to the birds singing. I've always wanted to capture the sounds and listen to them whenever I travel. Thank you for doing it.
This recording remains one of my goto’s for relaxing. Love the amount of bird present. Together they make a sort of white noise of bird sounds. I love the doves in particular. Not just because they sound lovely, but also because they provide a nice contrast in sound, compared to the other birds.
The photo might be from there but the recordings are from Limpopo province. I had run out of good images from that part of the world so I licensed this from a stock website.
I bumped into this as I was searching for African bird sounds...and specific ones of my childhood in the country side. I got it here 😄!!! I'm listening with a nostalgia 😄🤗. Thanks alot for sharing.
very beautiful recordings. I love it, so calm and interesting sounds. I never have been in Africa, but these sounds makes me feel like im in there, somewhere chilling, sitting in the tree with all those birds ❤
thank you for the lovely authentic recordings. i moved out of africa when I was five years old. as a bird lover I'm so happy I can learn about the bird sounds from this recording. i see you've made many other recordings. Looking forward to hearing those too. next up, the gibbons sounds.
Just started checking out your nature recordings ~~~ one early morning decided to start recording local birds ~ and added the recordings to one of my songs ~ turned out great ~~~ Great work ~ I'll check out your bandcamp site....
Hi there, was wondering if I could have your permission to use this sound file along with your other African bird song audio's for my masters research project. I would be using them as a form of enrichment for a captive African elephant to improve her welfare. Thanks!
Fantastic stereo high quality, thanks so much. Many wonderfull birds. Where did you record these sounds. Did you mix or is this one location continuously? I passed the test Bird nerd at Askari 😅.
There are many birds calling at 2.55 so I'm not sure which one you're trying to ID. Check out xeno-canto.org, that's what I use to identify bird calls.
I suspect it's actually taken from the SA side, from the confluence lookout at Mapungubwe National Park (the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo rivers). The view is looking towards Zimbabwe, with Botswana out of shot to the left (www.google.co.uk/maps/@-22.2005822,29.3706265,3a,75y,25.72h,86.61t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sJCrN6yEDODY0oTcwIrJ5AQ!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3DJCrN6yEDODY0oTcwIrJ5AQ%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D250.56662%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656). Great library of sounds, wonderful to work to, thanks!
You can buy my recordings from South Africa for commercial use at mindful-audio.com/southern-african-ambience/
What birds are making noise at 21:00/ 1:05:38 I’m not sure what name of it is
@@johntodd3910 just saw your comment. That would be the Cape turtle dove or Ring-necked dove.

My pleasure, happy to help.
That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. I lived in Kenya and this is what it sounded like everyday outside my window! I miss the bird calls.
When I am upset, I am going to turn on this bird music and just chill. God Bless His creation. It's so beautiful.
Enjoy!
Playing this in the morning in my apartment in Dubai, a concrete jungle, is the best thing in the world. Keeps me sane.❤
Enjoy!
Can clearly hear the bird known to locals as "Piet my Vrou" just fabulous.
Someone else mentioned it too, that’s the Red chested cuckoo. I love hearing it from the rainforest to the savanna.
Look Simba. Everything the sunlight touches is our Kingdom. Wow.
Well said.
Thanks.
I always come back to this video. It reminds me so much of home. Thank you for capturing this beauty ❤Zimbabwe
Enjoy!

Totally agree on dove calls, they're generally lower frequency than other bird sounds and incredibly varied.
Mapungubwe National Park? Fantastic track. Thank you.

Me too 😀🙋♀️.
She explained it perfectly. African country side morning sound. The birds songs are motivation enough to get up and work.
Excellent, great to hear that!
Nothing like the bushveld beautiful ❤
You got that right!
very clean take thanks
You are welcome!

Great, glad to hear that.
Always turns out so nostalgic
That's awesome
Cooing mourning dove sound beats them all...so nostalgic from areas around lake Victoria.
Yep, one of the iconic sounds of the African savanna.
Perfect !
My favorite bird sound, not sure what it's called though. Really enjoy these
Glad to hear that.
It’s an amazing continent
Thank you for listening.
Emirald spotted wood dove is the best of all en it is in the background
Yes, that is a very cool bird.

You can play the recordings directly from RUclips.
@@GeorgeVlad Thank you :)
Brilliant idea
Cured my tinnitus wow I’ll see how long my ringing stops.
Good to hear that.
5:21 PIET MY VROU
Accurate!
What is the bird calling faintly at 05.29 a two note churring sound (almost like a partridge or grouse)?
That is probably an African hoopoe.
Every time I watch African wildlife doc a I hear the bird 9:37 in background what's its name
That's the Cape turtle dove or Ring-necked dove. It is resident in many parts of Africa and it calls a lot, even at night.
The Cape Turtle Dove is known throughout Africa for it's distinctive call, "work harder, work harder, work harder, ..." ☺️
Fantastic stereo high quality, thanks so much. Many wonderfull birds. Where did you record these sounds. Did you mix or is this one location continuously? I passed the test Bird nerd at Askari 😅.
Thanks, I recorded this in Limpopo province and it's one location continuously.
Not sure if it's you selecting this, but I'd like to compliment you (also) on the ad after the video: it's short and unintrusive.
I'm not selecting the ads, that's not possible I'm afraid. Glad to hear your experience was good though.

What is the bird at 9:30? It is in every nature documentary about Africa.
That's the Cape turtle dove.
@@GeorgeVlad Thanks a lot for the answer.
Its a dove I stay in Uganda en those doves are so common here

Where's the picture from?
I got that from a stock image website as I didn't have enough good photos from the SA expedition. It's a scene shot in Botswana.

Thanks very much for the detective work and for the kind words. That looks like a very promising location for sound recording.
