"Childhood misery is lifelong injury" is a callback to another Jinjer song, Dreadful Moments. A song written mostly by Eugene about a friend of his and their childhood, if I am not mistaken. Someone here will know if I am.. In that part, Tatiana is saying that the experience the person Dreadful Moments is about had for themselves was not the experience she had in her childhood or home, and it wasn't that way for her band mates, either... It's absolutely a love letter to ones home, family, and very close friends. Jinjer's version of "Dear Mama", as weird as it is to make that comparison. It's the exact same sentiment
Great job! FYI, this video predates Tatiana's marriage. Ape OMV - Jinjer Jazz Outlander Official Live - great early Jinjer performance in a small venue with some fan interaction. When Two Empires Collide fan made video (Jinjer Polska). Includes clips of the chaos and destruction in the wake of the outbreak of Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014.
Suggestion for next 3 songs from Jinjer: 1 Disclosure 2 Sit ,Stay, Roll Over (live in Melbourne) 3 I see that you cheated and already listened to the new song "Rogue", so I'm gonna cheat too. "Jinjer Audiotree From Nothing". It's an interview plus a live in studio performance of 3 songs, "Vortex", "Wallflower" , and "Dead Hands Feel No Pain". Total run time at just under 24 minutes. Tati usually writes songs in Russian, then translates to English. One of the few (only that I can think of) times she kept the Russian I see you noticed the mistake that Tati's husband isn't in Jinjer. He is Alex Lopez, currently the touring drummer for P.O.D.
No Hoard of Value A Plus or a Minus Outlander Official Live at Loudfest The first part is Russian. The two languages differ somewhat but given the situation there some people get sensitive about these things. The band members are lucky that their relationships with their families have been good through all of this. Plenty of their friends weren't so lucky which just makes them even more grateful. Tatiana's mother is only a kilometer from the front line in Russian occupied territory in her home town Gorlivka (Horlivka is the Ukrainian name) so she hasn't seen her since about 2014 just talked to her. Luckily there's little chance that city will ever get touched by the conflict.
Not seeing family members for that long can be extremely hard. especially when it's forced. Hopefully, all this shit is over soon, and they can see them soon. Thanks for the song list 🤘👍🙏
This is now one of my favorite Jinjer songs. What about you? What 3 songs should I listen to next? P.S. I realised that Jinjer's husband is not a member in the band after filming and editing. So aplogise for being incorrect.
Keep it going just as you do. I really enjoy watching your journey As for the 3 recommendations: Twelve Foot Ninja / Over and Out (featuring Tati from Jinjer) Gojira / Pray (live at Red Rocks extended version) Gojira / Born in Winter
just 3? you've already gone pretty deep .... i'll see what i can come up with: _No Hoard of Value_ _Until the End_ Twelve Foot Ninja -- _Over and Out_ (ft. Tatiana) honorable mentions: _Disclosure_ _Dreadful Moments_ , official lyric video (one of 3 that Eugene wrote) _Rogue_ -- newest single, _possibly_ their heaviest yet.
Ape, Noah, Rogue (brand spankin new). Also I'm going to cheat and mention a couple more, because I can't be controlled. Words of Wisdom, and Captain Clock. These 2 along with Ape and Noah, would complete their Melbourne set for you. Doing the whole Melbourne set might be a fun live stream, and then you could post it as a long form video after. Just a thought.
I have actually listened to Rogue. I couldnt help myself on the way too work. I don't mind doing a video for it but hopefully we get a music video soon maybe? But ill note the others of course :) Yeah, I want to get into doing some live streams to do some sessions, requests from chat and other bit and pieces. I'll be making a video on that over the weekend hopefully as community post dont really= reach everyone.
i'm not sure if that first verse is in Russian or Ukrainian -- i know they speak both, and google translate says that that verse translates very similarly in both. 🤷♂ (though, the "detect language" defaults to russian, and the way that second line of the verse translates seems to feel smoother when translated as russian .... but that is not definitive). she has mentioned writing in both, and given the particular region they're from, it's anyone's guess. but either way (AND MY MAIN POINT OF THIS COMMENT), i could listen to Tati sing in that all day long ... such an inherently beautiful musicality to the language (at least it is coming from her).
I've think both countries speak Russian officially? I'm not sure. Just that each country have their own dialect and such. I never really thought of the accent as one that stood out, you know, like Spanish, but she sings so beautifully that it makes me things differently.
@@RustySabita The official language of Ukraine is Ukrainian. There was a brief period before the 2014 hostilities when oblasts could have another official language if a high enough percentage of the population spoke it, so much of southern and eastern Ukraine had Russian as an official language. The government is not feeling as charitable toward anything Russian anymore.
@SteveSmith-os5bs That's makes sense. It pretty much the same here in Wales. If you live south, then English is pretty much the first language. When you get deeper into Wales, then more people speak Welsh as their first language. (Though is still taught everywhere)
@@RustySabita w-w-wait .... you're Welsh? k, that makes a lot of things make sense. 😉 (and no, my ear for distinguishing accents isn't sophisticated enough to differentiate all that well .... the only accents on that island that stand out enough for me to identify clearly are scottish and scouser) (sorry, even though i'm a "yank" , i follow a couple of english podcasts, and "taking the piss" at the welsh seems to be a fun sport)

I’m curious what is your favorite Jinjer song so far? Here’s my top three that you haven’t heard yet
Ape
Exposed As a Liar (very old)
Words of Wisdom
It's hard to say. I would probably say I Speak Astronamy is so far, alongside Restrospection. Thanks for those songs 🤘👍🙏
