I think it might be intentional? He doesn’t get off-time or anything. Just an extra sound but Travis’ *thing* is that he’s extra
In Travis' book, he says that if he makes a mistake / feels like he did make a mistake, he'll do his best to improvise and, "make it seem like a mistake wasn't made" - one way of doing this is he will add to his, "error" in a way that will make sense, musically (add or remove a note, rhythm, groove, etc. to a pattern) / no longer considered to be an error.

Mistakes are normal for everyone. Look for his live performances and you'll find a lot more. No one is perfect.
