I wouldn’t want to take over anyone’s collection. Seems to me there would be a certain amount of enjoyment from building collection up myself from the ground up. I'd have to say if I had my choice of breeder facilities & snakes to work with; it's just so hard to pick.. Mutation Creation, JKR, Always Evolving, Constriction Addiction, JD Constriction, Markus Jayne, Ozzy Boid... I'd more want to work with all them; not just their snakes. Their knowledge is worth so much more.

That was very interesting! I didn't know Retics sometimes kill each other during mating. I don't think I've heard of that happening with Ball Pythons. It seems even with a contract that there could be disagreements because each person is so invested in the outcome, but I agree that in some cases that might be the only way you can achieve certain breeding goals if you don't have both parents needed to breed them all yourself. If I were ever to do a breeding loan my top picks would be Justin Kobylka, Gavin from Balls2U, Juggernaut Reptiles, Dave and Logan at Intelligent Design Reptiles (They have a Pastel Leopard Clown that is out of this world and they always give personal attention to all their snakes), Doug from HIssy Fit Reptiles (with his gorgeous female Batman), andMark from Ballzout Ball Pythons who has been hatching out Clown combos with alot of other genes in them I love as well. Also, Gianne of Trigg Reptiles, and Kai from Lucas Landon Royals. All of these people put alot of careful thought into what they're doing and they produce and/or have exceptional Clown stuff (which is one of the main genes I'm interested in).
To answer the breeding loan question you mentioned, I’m not sure who the breeder would be, but I would love to take on a large group of Corucia zebrata to work on breeding a bunch of those awesome lizards!
A breeder loan, besides you, Andrew Acevedo because he has Madu SD locality genes. Always good information. We always hear more about bad breeder loans because of the negative aspect. But people must be doing successful breeder loans as well.

No matter how well I know the person or believe in their husbandry I just don't think I could do it because my snakes are all like my children and I'd worry nonstop. Now if I could use anyones collection for a breeding loan for myself, I'm pretty sure I'd be trying to work something out with Justin Kobylka. Although there are tons of breeders who have amazing collections with genes I can only dream about working with.
Nice BREEDER loan contract! I have 3 het puzzle females that a breeder/friend gave to me on a agreement that I raise them up breed them and he gets first pick out of each clutch. Then I keep the rest and all 3 females. If I had a choice of a breeder to loan me a few snakes I would say Mike Bell's collection.

Risky business indeed. What if the animal out on loan gets sick a few days after it was shipped - who pays the vet expenses? I've encountered that just buying animals - I don't want any responsibility for someone else's. So many factors to consider. As for the question, if I could mess around with someone else's collection for a while? Probably Vin Russo - Cutting Edge Herp. So many awesome animals.

ever consider adding into the contracts that the receiver provides 24/7 web steaming cameras? an old (but working) smartphone and the (free) app "ip webcam" lets you broadcast and easily set passwords on it. It would let you check on the snake whenever you wanted. a temp / humidity gauge in view of the camera a text letting you know feeding time would let you observe the feedings Check the snakes behavior for stress, conditions, how the person is interacting with the animal etc., etc.... can see the animals carcass if something were to happen. can even watch the clutch hatch to make sure they're being honest with what hatches out. Just a thought.

Great information brother my question is in the beginning wasn’t this the main way to bring bloodlines in as there were so few with connections to imports? Well as I work BP I think the stock I would work with is Gavin from Balls2U I love the quality he has and the knowledge he presents and shares with us. Retics I don’t think I’d ever breed but if I am ever lucky enough to get into the SD world I would work with you not only because it’s you but because Kim trusts you and so do I.
One question. How do you prove how many eggs were laid. Let's say there's 15 eggs and 4 of them are top tier animals. What's to stop that person from hiding those 4 eggs from you and just saying 11 eggs came out of that breeding?
If it were me as the receiver, I'd like to think the fairest way to go would be to do a live video pulling the clutch. And then I'd fly out the other person to cut it together. But that's just me.

SD don't usually have issues with that, but anything can and will happen when working with animals...
