Currently here in Panama City to get my temporary visa. Very excited but also nervous. You made excellent points particularly on potential emergency health issues.
Thank you for such consistently useful and informative content. Mistake #9 caught me off guard. I use a VPN and had no idea it would be a problem accessing investment accounts while abroad. So much great info in this video.
Thank for such great tips and things to consider!! I was visiting Ajijic and talking to an American who moved there 13 years ago (and she loves it) and she politely described a certain type of people as "entrepreneurial", the people looking to make a buck off you, and the "entrepreneurs" are in Panama too, even the expats. Gotta keep those spidey senses on point.
Really good discussion. I am from US and lived worked on the African continent several years. What you discuss is thorough. Having an exit plan and emergency items is really important for a whole host of reasons.
Not the zapatos disintegrating 🤣🤣🤣 I'd heard leather doesn't fare well in Panama, but do you know of any other materials that may not survive? On a different note, #8 is *EXTREMELY* important for me! Time to research if other kinds of retirement accounts have similar restrictions. This was eye opening, Aisha, so thank you for sharing it❣️🇵🇦
👏👏👏 Priceless advice! You've touched upon so many important points that are often overlooked, and I thank you sincerely for so doing. Living in, say, Hawaii and going on vacation in Hawaii are two totally different things, and it's no different than moving to any other part of the world. Little things, simple things can be mentally and emotionally burdensome on the individual. Take as an example one's sense of humor. It seems trivial, but humor and joking are cultural, and suddenly not being able to crack a joke off-handedly can take a toll especially when nobody gets it - ever! Then there's food. Moving to another country may mean changing one's diet, and that could spell digestion problems, belly aches, and impact "toilet duty". Not a trivial matter. These are not examples that are meant to discourage, but to underscore the importance of keep it real, and it's part of preparedness. I also agree with the suggestion made about an exit plan that's well thought out. The unexpected may happen anywhere, and thought has to be given to bailing out in a realistic way. Great point! 👍 In short, moving to any new land will affect language, culture, food, customs, music, noise levels, seasons, attitudes, etc., and once an individual takes into account that some measure of adapting is required, they'll be fine. Part of adjusting is also being a bit adventurous, and knowing that no matter how well you plan, something will be overlooked, and that's usually okay at the end of the day. Heartfelt thanks for your time and excellent advice. I appreciate it.👌 Stay well, keep safe, and chin up always. 😉 ✨
I always enjoy the information you provide us. Thank you so very much, so appreciated the important 16 mistakes people don't think about. Can you please provide the list of attorneys and realtors. Much Love
In no particular order a list is below. Please research them and others to find the one that is right for you. They all have different prices and keep in mind that they are extremely busy right now. 1. International Relocation Firm 2. Kramer & Kramer 3. PTY Lawyers 4. PRIME Solution and Tax Legal 5. Expat-Tations

Im a new follower, landing in Panama in less than 2 weeks. I too am both nervous and excited! Thank you chantour transparent topics and for giving us unfiltered stats and facts. Also, Im not sure where youre from originally but you look soooo much like my cousins who are in Arkansas, wow. Question: Any ideas of where to rent for the 1st 2 weeks at least? Im flying in to PC and will be in country for 5 mos. Ive been going over lodging scenarios for 2 mos now and still havent been able to decide on whats best until I actually get a longer term rental. Cleanliness and low to lower noise is best for this Virgo lol. Stay blessed and keep doing what youre doing 🙏🏽.
Can someone make it decently with $1,500 I don't drink, party, I love the beaches, Church n gardening, I'm 72 years n will be by myself, don't care for the city life, interesting in the town that has beaches with little waves. Thanks for being so lovely, n caring to others.

Panama might not be the place for you because this is The Tropics. The further you go outside the City, there are animals that don't know they're supposed to stay in the jungle. There are 🐒🐒🐒🐒 in Panama City.
This video is the most informative I have viewed on potential mistakes made by expats. Excellent work, Aisha.
Thank you for your content. You give out of the box advice that other channels don't. I appreciate your videos!

You can make it just fine in Costa Verde. It's just West of Panama City. You can lease a 2/2 house for $700.
Thanks for another great video! Are you taking Spanish language classes in Panama City or online? Any recommendations? Thanks!
Any recommendation for immigration attorneys in Panama City? TIA
I will circle back and get this to you after I run my errands.
@AbroadAbility ❤️thank you.

@AbroadAbility Thank you!
I need to move from the States because I can’t afford to live here anymore
💯
I hear eastern Europe is affordable
I'm fearful of critters that come out after rainstorms... do they have a lot of worms, waterbugs, etc.? I know they have geckos which is bad enough!
