Thank you sooooo much for sharing the whole unwrapping glee with us! It felt like sitting next to the Christmas tree with you on Christmas morning..... :)
Hi Peta. I believe it's called, "excelsior". (The packing worms.) I do love your excitement. I'm the same as you, in that I like to open slowly, and save everything. (savoring) I am looking forward to your making a video or 20 of you coloring in this book! Thanx, Mindy
I also keep a bullet journal! Have you considered sharing parts of it? It's a learning process, which is what makes it so fun. I love being able to alter the format to suit my needs.
I'm very much a newbie with bullet journals so I'm still learning myself. I thought it would be a great tool to help me become organised back into normal life again. Once a know what I'm doing proper I'll consider making a video about it. Right now I'm trying to decide whether to leave the journal as purely functional or whether to use it as a diary so as to tie all those elements of my life in one place. On top of it and my art journals I also have a journal for house work, a journal for colouring and creativity planning and a work based shift recording journal for my job... but these have all been in use for some time.
I know we are contients away (I'm in Ecuador and you are in Australia) but I definetly feel as if I was talking to a friend who gets why I love coloring, love your videos!!
I really, really enjoy your unboxing videos and your enthusiasm during the exploration of new colouring books! You've inspired me to get back into colouring and have fun with it!
Fantastic package Peta. The Arran soap, I believe is in connection to Arran in Scotland where Johanna is from. Her new book looks fantastic. I can't wait to buy a copy myself. -Chris
Christopher Tudor You are right! Before I came to live in Holland I lived in Troon on the West coast of Scotland and I could look across the sea to Arran. It was spectacular at sunset.😊
Love it! It's on my Christmas wish list. I hope you will do a tutorial on one or some of your favourite pages. I had stopped colouring for a while but getting back into it.
Thank you, my copy arrives today, now I am even more excited. The opening of a brand new box of pencils I think is addicting. Its gorgeous, and smells good..... lol. I cannot wait to see you color some pages!
I received my copy. It was purchased thru the big on-line box store. In comparison with yours, mine came in a bubble wrap mailer and the US postal service jammed it into my mailbox - ugh! Luckily it wasn't damaged. Happy coloring :-)
How is it you get a box like this? What a surprise joy that would be! My mother and I are fans of her books and if your coloring tutorials. How beautiful that box is! And those cards! Thanks for your unboxing...loved every second!
Who are these people who dislike unboxing videos? I mean really.. I'm not sure I like her latest book - I mean most of her books have flowers, pages and pages of them. The only page that really grabbed me was the one with flowers coming out of the pencils. That was like an acknowledgement of us colorists in her book! Beautiful page. Don't get me wrong, her artwork is certainly beautiful but it feels repetitive to me. That's also why I've stopped buying books from artists I already have, like Seasons and Jewelry box by Karlzon. I'm making an effort to only get books by artists I haven't tried before.
Shilpa J I totally agree. I love flowers, when I started coloring I looked for books with flowers. This book is a little late for me, I now have so many flower themed books. I too have my favorite illustrators but it does get repetitive. The new Kara Markova book is so tempting, but I haven’t finished the first yet, and still planned to get the second. Now I see a third book, that is the best yet. I can’t get it it’s just too much of the same.
I've seen several videos of people opening their boxes from Johanna, but yours is by far my favorite! The joy and delight in your voice was just wonderful, right down to the washi tape! (I save stuff like that for my journals too. LOL) I received my copy of the book on the 23rd and understand your excitement! Thank you for sharing with us, Peta. Blessings!
Thank you for a great video :) The book is realy beautiful and I can't wait to see a picture done by you :D I have" world of flowers" ready on my wish list for christmas ;)
Happy for you Peta, i laugh because i unwrapped my Gifts the same way as you do LOL! mine is on the mail so can't wait to recieved my copy! Thank You and hope to seen a tutorial from this book Peta, Enjoy! :-)
Lovely and very thorough, thank you. I understand your love for your Derwent boxed set - I had the same in the early 80's. I worked mine down to the tiniest stubs and have only #61 left :( In your opinion, do the latest Derwent pencils match the quality of the older ones? I'm reluctant to spend so much replacing the set without knowing if the quality remains the same.
Peta Hewitt Peta, what happened to the tutorials you were telling us you had filmed before you went away for about a year or more? Will we ever get those tutorials? I kept watching your channel for a long time after you had taken a break hoping you’d post the ones you’d already filmed, and didn’t color those pages because I was waiting to color along. Should we give up on those you’d already talked about or will you post them soon?
Right after you opened the box of pencils, (and you’re right, nothing is more beautiful), I said to you, “you’ve got to pet them Peta!” and that is exactly what you did! :-D Always love your videos - watch them while I color. I receive my World of Flowers the other day and can’t wait to color along with you (hint!)
Good question. It is difficult to get the first 1/4 of the pages to lie flat because of the way it is bound. It can be done but you need a bit of force and you have to take care not to pull the paper away from the glue. I prefer the English printed editions for this reason.
The bottom of the box is nice and flat so I plan to chop out a neat hunk of it and colour it. i think she gets the US versions printed first and these are sent out a month before they hit the stores. I get mine a bit later then most other colourists as I live in Australia so it takes about 3 weeks to get here.
Peta, I like how you put as much love in unpacking the package as Johanna put in the packing of it.
Thank you sooooo much for sharing the whole unwrapping glee with us! It felt like sitting next to the Christmas tree with you on Christmas morning..... :)
You are such a sweetheart unboxing this parcel and building up the our anxiety to see everything you got. Bless you always!

It looks beautiful! By the way, could you be convinced to do a video on how you do scales? I would love to learn that. :)
Fun video, I had to chuckle when you petted the new pencils!
I wanted them to know that they were in a home where they would be loved and regularly exercised :)
A new box of pencils always make me happy for days. They are a sight to behold. 💜
Peta, thank you, I hope you do a tutorial(s) for this book.
BTW there is a double page that folds out after the test page.
Thank you! So glad you’re back! I’m hoping you’ll color the page with succulents on it! My Grandson collects Cacti !
I know we are contients away (I'm in Ecuador and you are in Australia) but I definetly feel as if I was talking to a friend who gets why I love coloring, love your videos!!

Oooo would love to see inside your art journal some of those blank spots in this book you could do quotes or brush lettering 🌷❤️Tanya x
That is a really good idea. i didn't think of that.
Beautiful happy mail. TFS
My World of Flowers just arrived today. I can't wait to see what you do with it... You are so talented 😊

Christopher Tudor You are right! Before I came to live in Holland I lived in Troon on the West coast of Scotland and I could look across the sea to Arran. It was spectacular at sunset.😊
Somebody told me it was where Johanna spent at least part of her childhood but i haven't verified that.
Yay! Have been waiting for this! Thanks for sharing Peta
Another gorgeous book from Johanna, cannot wait to see some colour-a-longs using this book. 😊
Lovely video! I may have to get this one. I love to do flowers. Thanks to Peta and Johanna.

Amazon doesn’t send their packages like that! Love the book to add to my collection
yay!!! loves these!
ugh, it's so beautiful! I still have so many books to colour in though. It's so addictive to buy all her books!

she mentioned she sprayed a floral Jo Malone fragrance into the box before sealing!
Oh wow... I might have to look up that fragrance. It smelt divine!
Right after you opened the box of pencils, (and you’re right, nothing is more beautiful), I said to you, “you’ve got to pet them Peta!” and that is exactly what you did! :-D Always love your videos - watch them while I color. Do the pages open flat with this edition? I live in the US but often buy UK editions from book depository to get the sewn in bindings.
Good question. It is difficult to get the first 1/4 of the pages to lie flat because of the way it is bound. It can be done but you need a bit of force and you have to take care not to pull the paper away from the glue. I prefer the English printed editions for this reason.
so pretty~
Bonjour jai déjà se livre es ce qu'il a un deuxième prévu bientôt merci
How can find this color books
Seems like the box have a rough journey. Lol...i can't believe anyone will try to colour that box. Wow..she sent you a US version.
The bottom of the box is nice and flat so I plan to chop out a neat hunk of it and colour it. i think she gets the US versions printed first and these are sent out a month before they hit the stores.
